Something I am growing to love is watching clothes get worn in - I have some fear about wearing out my nice clothes, which on one hand is a good thing, it’s important to care for your clothes, but on another hand, clothes are meant to work for us, and become worn in. Seeing this type of thing from creators like you, hearing people like Alec Leach and Expired Tiger encourages me more to wear my nice clothes and enjoy the beauty of them changing from wear.

you were the catalyst to convince me to get a pair of japanese selvedge. Went to my local self edge in LA and got your exact pair of sugarcane Okinawa. man, i can’t take these things off. Just an absolute beauty to wear and worth every penny, im hooked.

Ok I’m in Japan now. I purchased 3 pairs of jeans on this trip. I went to the Levis shop and purchase a pair of 501s and had them custom to what I like (added the Japanese flag on the pocket/added the Tokyo patch on back of left leg). Purchased a pair of Edwin 505z. Read the history behind the jeans and founded out he invented the process of stone wash jeans. Last pair are MoMotaro classic straight in black, or very dark blue. I luv my jeans and buying Japanese jeans to me is my next step in understanding the history behind jeans with a passion for the process/history/story telling. I own 40 pairs of true religion jeans which I luv the design. I purchased those jeans because of his designs and uniqueness, not the name. The majority of those jeans are 10 to 15 years old. I’m telling my age here lol😂. Luv your U-tube channel and the information you provide alone with a pure meaning behind the madness. Keep pushing!

Hey drew! Because of your denim videos I got a pair of naked and famous jeans in April and one for my dad too for his birthday! While I am not sure my dad has gotten much use out of his because I underestimated his belly I have gotten plenty of use already for mine and I use them 9/10 times. I get a lot of enjoyment out of the slight fading! I love things that change over time with use, like I have a few japanese carbon steel knives and some carbon steel sushi knives too from when I was a sushi man and if you don't know carbon steel patinas over time just like leather would!! So thank you for introducing me to the world of selvedge denim drew.

ran my second wash some days ago. the roping definitely more pronounced and actually the button fly created some circular fade on the flap. kinda cool. i’ve worn them about 80 times, still nothing too visible as far as whiskering on front and back behind knee. but with time ❤

I recently got the 3Sixteen RS-100x. The relax fit and high waist gives the jeans that classic heritage look I was looking for. The staff in the nyc shop were also super friendly and helpful. I’m only ~45 wears so far, but they’ve softened up so much.

Its funny, I scored a seeminly brand new pair of LSG selvedge denim at a local thrift. Tried em on, they fit and walked out $15 lighter in the wallet. Looked them up on their website, found out these were only on sale at $80 and new they were $180. So... I'm getting into selvedge at a ridiculously low cost. Thanks for the inspiration Drew. Keep em coming, much love from 🇨🇦 #pvv

Man. That's why i love working in my jeans. They fade a lot faster. I have a 22oz pair of slubby denim from the Unbranded Brand, and they are as faded ast those, if not more, after 3 months of wear total, 2 of them being at work for 6-10s. Some people think im crazy for wearing $100-200 jeans to work, but I have so many pairs now, and I've finally come to the realization that they are jeans. They were invented to be worked in. Sometimes, I'll get a little burn mark from welding or scrapes from the sheet metal sliding against them, but thats just part of their story. There are some pairs that I would not want to wear to work, but that's why it's fun cause every pair tells its own story.

#pvv I went up to NYC to the Naked and Famous store and picked up a pair on the MIJ12 Aomidori Selvedge jeans in indigo! But what’s super cool about them is that the are greencast so as I have been fading them the indigo fades to this green/white which I think is super unique and fun
@JoeyDecay10 күн бұрын
I really want to get a pair of MIJ. N&F has the best fits in my opinion. But the MIJ can get pricey. Especially when I can get some Oni for under $200 from certain Japanese sites. Oni is probably one of my favorite textured denim. I bought the first pair in America at James Dant actually, but they were $300. They don't have the back pocket stitching but I did get to actually try them on so I know what to buy online. But Bears'Tokyo is a good site for Japanese prices. I was using denimio, but the price went from like $200- $260 over the summer. Bears still has Oni and momotaro for under $200 usd and you should get free shipping at both. Denimio does have a larger selection. I want to actually go to Japan and buy some stuff. Like go to Iron Heart and not pay $400. Lol. But that would be dangerous. I already have more jeans than I need..

I’ve been wearing 21oz iron heart 634s for 2.5 months. I washed them for the second time last night and they’re still very stiff and heavy compared to the 14oz canvas pants I’m wearing while the jeans dry. Not directly related but Japanese denim is cool. There’s so much variation in denim that you can’t get if you stick with modern mass produced brands.
@divine1k16 күн бұрын
My most favorite pair are without a doubt Kapital’s 14oz TH Straight fit jeans. The weight is perfect - light enough that I won’t sweat in the summer, but not too light that I’ll freeze during the winter. The texture of the pant is soft and smooth, yet feels durable and sturdy. The cut is very flattering with all of my shoes & boots. One of my favorite features on them is that the leather patch on the back is attached at only two points, so you can loop your belt through the pants and not cover the patch up. They’re roughly $300 not cheap lol but I’m gonna wear them until they fall apart #pvv

#pvv I don’t have a pair, I usually try to stick to buying clothes second hand: however, I think I used to have a pair. I had naked and famous jeans that were a hand me down from my cousin that felt raw and inelastic but also had broken in a comfortable way. I was in middle school and much school and didn’t like the look of blue jeans as much - especially during the skinny jean era - so I think I gave them to a friend or relative Wish I could see them now to fond out what type they were etc

Not gunna lie, I thought with 300 days of wear the fades would be more faded. They look dope but maybe it’s because they are a wider pair. But then again I’m comparing to competition fades where ppl workout in their jeans and probably do a bunch weird extracurricular activities to get those crazy fades.

Or just return them and get 36 and find tailor or just give up on sugar cane and find a company that’s fits more True to size I normally wear a 33/34 any suggestions?

How do you decide on when to wash your jeans?
@MultiVance12317 күн бұрын
Higher contrast fades, Wash less. More vintage, low contrast, Wash More. Ultimately, you should wash them when they’re dirty. Denim is supposed to “reflect your personal story,” so I’d say just wear them and wash them whenever you feel like they need it.

I think it sucks to put your wallet in your front or back pockets, they only do that cause they want some stupid wallet fade. The best place to put your wallet is in your jacket or bag. Putting a wallet in your pants pocket just makes yourself less comfortable , especialy if you got a thick wallet.

Wearing the same denim like this is not recommended for normal people. It’s best to have multiple pairs and rotate to minimize putting to much wear on one pair.
