In part 12 of the truck bed camping road trip, I'm truck camping on a stream that was once known as a fantastic stream in Wyoming. However today it's mostly known as a recovering stream. I was told a huge forest fire and subsequent slide really hurt the fishing below the impacted area and to only expect small fish. And by the looks of the area, it was definitely ravaged by a forest fire. However, I found a stream that is thriving and full of cutthroat trout...some big ones too! Crazy how resilient trout are!
Check out all the videos from this trip in the playlist linked below:
I started my road trip on July 31 and spent 3 weeks in WY, ID and MT...see playlist below

This man just enjoys the whole essence of fishing. Nothing to do with numbers or size of fish. Just being out there and enjoying life and the fish. I am glad that I have just found his channel

@@LooknFishy Wyoming has a lot of good cutthroat habitat. Wyoming Game and Fish has a Cutt Slam program where if you catch the four native cutthroat subspecies in their native drainages, you get a nice certificate.

@@LooknFishy I would love to try fly fishing but shoot, I’m 61 and still throwing lures every chance I get. You really should hit this area of Oregon. Some beautiful streams and rivers and some nice 👍🏼 fish. I also practice catch and release hoping that the next time I can catch more. Stay safe and healthy my brother. PS , I don’t feel 61 when I’m walking a nice stream. Love the outdoors. Let me know if you ever come this way, I could point you in the right direction 🤔

I've been really happy with my Big Agnes bags. But I still buy my kids Coleman from Walmart. This way I don't mind letting them take them to a friend's house for sleepovers and we mostly car camp so the bulk isn't an issue.

I try to start around 9 if I'm throwing some type of surface pattern. Earlier if I nymph. And fish till almost dark. I like to cook and clean up before it's dark in bear country...so I'd say 6 to 8 hrs on average.
