Last time I was asking questions at work I ended up being called for a private meeting where my supervisor told me that she feels disrespected when I do it. I am assuming because she didn't know the answers and it made her feel bad about herself. I left that job.

Anyone can ask questions. Truly successful people ask better questions. Creating a written plan before every meeting then debriefing by yourself immediately after that meeting will provide a platform that enables you to ask better questions as you go forward.

In grad school, I used to direct softball questions to my Asian classmates that were on topics that they were likely to be knowledgeable on (“Isn’t there a concept in Buddhism that’s similar to what the journal article says?”). This would stop the show and allow them to participate. Please don’t tell Professor {REDACTED} at The University of {REDACTED}!😮

Not a bad presentation. I do agree with you that he or she who is the loudest, is the most passionate, uses the greatest range of vocabulary, or drones on and on (like I'm doing right now) is not necessarily the one who controls the conversation. Absolutely. I also believe that asking questions is more powerful then giving answers as that person chooses where the conversation goes directly (though when done right, answers control it indirectly). Where I differ in belief is that performance can not control conversation, and the plan laid out for authenticity is always dependable. Good performance does much to sway others and direct attention where one wants, and we as humans will have times when we are not able to be completely calm within ourselves that we cannot be phased. That is why I believe courage is the ultimate fall back. All in all, a good lecture.

So sick and tired and feel awful to be working with this person very day .I was so depressed..I do not give this person any credit but concentrate who need to be done and do it well .I have to be ready to defend myself kind of back strapped And this kind of behaviour was unexceptionable. If that effects me Then I will send the clear message and proof this person was lie ,this kind of this behaviour have bad impact for the team and organisation,😊
