EXECUTIVE PRESENCE = OUTER COMPONENTS + INNER COMPONENTS A. OUTER COMPONENTS = ACTION (the way you act) + COMMUNICATION (what you say & how you say it) + IMPRESSION (poise, posture, appearance) B. INNER COMPONENTS = CONFIDENCE + CAPABILITY + CONTROL (managing your attitude, emotion, philosophy) STEPS OF BUILDING EXECUTIVE PRESENCE 1. Communicate with authority: speak with the sense of engagement, influence, connecting, convincing 2. Connect to build trust: Ensure to connect on face-face level ==> use eye contact 3. Conduct through poise 4. Create a polished image: your appearance that express confidence 5. Conceive your executive identity

What Dr. Lee says in this video is right on target! Practical steps to achieve leadership presence. . This video alone could be a great place to start. Each major and minor point she covers might in turn lead to years of further study and gained expertise, according to each leader's particular situation and personal style. . Two topics stood out for me, in this video. > Rapport is extremely important for many reasons, yet is often neglected. > Authenticity is vital, as it promotes confidence and can build enthusiasm in self and others. Good Stuff! ~ from a retired colleague

I own 5 companies of which staff many successful ladies. Commanding the room with confidence also includes speaking to their listening. Is your audience big picture thinking or details oriented? I also staff my companies with a generous level of left handed. For creativity if found that left handers are very visual and a big picture. Right handers mostly are detail people. Successful companies recognize and appreciate both.

HI Dr. Lee: thanks much, so informative and inspiring. As for presentation, I feel I need to have at least the bullet points to cover, otherwise afraid of loosing the some of the main points and cohesiveness of talk but definitely don't write everything, I believe for someone who had not given any presentation for years, writing it and having the words ready in mind and trying to deliver and "memorized " version that comes out naturally is way to go. I know you have developed this skill that you have mastered so amazingly. For example when you say I got 5 points or 7 points on this, topic to give and deliver it while walking, in neighborhood, wonder if you practiced it so many times to the point of memorizing it by heart and you know which 5 points you meant to talk about. It is amazing to me you present a topic in these videos and in the manner that would take me hours to research, hours to dwell which ones to include and how to deliver and it has never been so impromptu looking. will continue to watch all your videos, got a lot of reflections to do before contacting you.

By the way, l am a very senior govt servant and l am supposed to conduct meeting and take classes more often. My mind just goes blank when l stand without script. I urgently need your guidance. Hi, Shahnaz! Welcome to my channel, I'm glad to hear that my videos have been helpful in giving you guidance. My videos give you some tactics on what you can do, but if you're looking for more direct help to develop confident speaking without a script, then I would point you in the direction of my coaching program. Confidence in communication is one of the aspects that I help my clients with in my executive coaching program. Usually before I take on new clients, I will schedule a Discovery Call with you to explore whether it is the right fit for both of us. If you're serious about creating results for yourself with coaching and accountability, I invite you to apply for a Discovery Call with my team here: careerrevisionist.com/apply

Great video and content. Just one piece of feedback from an audience perspective: it feels rushed, probably because you want to cover all key points within a short timeframe, but perhaps you could shorten it and also catch your breath by not repeating the introductory sentences each time you list examples within a given category.

My executive presence, inner and outer, sometimes make people feel uncomfortable or insecure about themselves or seek conflict with me to try to make me feel insecure. My personal brand is about authenticity, integrity and correctness. It’s not always fun to be an exposer by nature I must say. But it quickly dhows red flags.

It sounds exhausting. Leadership is not for me. At the same time, don’t try these tricks with me. If you think you’re a manager of sorts and you are incompetent and don’t give a shit about people, you can stick that executive presence of yours where the sun don’t shine.
