I was thinking that rear bash bar will be bit more complicated, consider how much rd car run the walls. Isn't that dry sump oil tank breaking FD rules? Being outside of frame rails??

You want the bash bar to bend when you run the wall instead of bending your frame rails. Also, with him keeping it super simple it is easy to replicate, as it will likely be replaced multiple times over.

Yeah, a lot of grass root guys go as far as cutting notches in the bash bar to create crumple zones
