It's probable the assassins were looking to capture Fett. That would explain the shock sticks: capture him, drag him back to the Hutts for torture and/or being made an example. And Bib Fortuna was likely running Jabba's holdings for the twin hutts, who were busy partying on Hutta. But when Fett killed him, then dealt with their assassins, they decided to handle matters personally. Things don't always need to be spelled out in the narrative, you know: the old "Show, don't tell" axiom. Or maybe I'm putting more thought into it than the writers. :)

One thing about Cowboy Bebop. There are featurettes bundled with the CB movie - the cast talking about their characters and stuff. The character designer says that Ed was originally going to be a boy but they switched her for balance - just so it's clear that it always happened, but obviously this was done for a reason and her being a girl actually has meaning - hanging out with Faye who opens up to her and stuff. But when I saw the Japanese actress voicing her, I immediately thought that someone like this should be Ed in live action - she has the same hair, young face and apparently played Ed rather naturally (it helped that she was around 15 at the time). Ed's not crazy, just young, playful and slightly autistic. And both voice actors obviously saw that. Ed wouldn't have to be a rubbery animation if her character was done right. But what the live action did instead was create an annoying, loud kid monster that you'd probably see having a tantrum in a supermarket... Basically what they did with all characters.

29:35 Quick note from a guy who read the books in original. If Yennefer was alive in modern day and played computer games, she would be the completionist type. "I deserve it!", while it is in line with leftist virtuous (a priori) womanhood, is at the same time in character for her. Imagine being one of the most powerful magic users in the land, who paid for this fact with a thing she, at that time, didn't know she'll want - her possible motherhood. Imagine being able to conjure almost anything out of thin air and having your way 99% of the time because of magic, one thing you depend on, yet inevitably spiraling down the rabbit hole of pursuing one thing she cannot achieve with all this power - being not sterile. To the point of making it your sole goal and obsession, and probably a looong, internal guilt trip. Then, imagine having your near omnipotence taken away from you despite the lengths you went to get it. Remember guys, pettiness isn't exclusive to cancel culture activists ;) ps. One more thing - observe that she lost her power because, for once in quite a time, she hasn't been a douche. It's a "No good deed goes unpunished" scenario, so there's room to be pissed and reverting to your shallow, selfish self posthaste.

I will say (9 days after this video was posted) It’s nice the see the show runners actually having cordial discussions with people about the show for a change! The main one I know about is The Quartering

Speaking of taking off helmets/masks, I particularly remember V For Vendetta and Hugo Weaving. Nobody wanted him to take off his mask to see Agent Smith! And if I'm not mistaken, James Purefoy was originally cast, and he dropped out BECAUSE his face would never be seen. #SMH

I always loved Assaj Ventress. I think the Clone Wars has more and better characters, with interesting development, than the whole sequel trilogy combined. I don't know if I would want an entire series about her, but a mini series or movie would be great.

Don't mind me. I'm the only person on earth it would seem, who thinks the Witcher and Boba Fett were okay. They weren't dazzling I grant you. The Witcher can't be just about Henry or you wouldn't be able to build up conflict or plot. Honestly, they did a bit more with Boba Fett than what I was expecting. That he didn't just wander into another city after the sarlacc pit, but suffered a little, helps bring some sympathy to the character, who had arguably never really been fleshed out before. There's some extreme violence in Boba Fett, which made me think twice about letting my ten year old watch it.....so....it isn't standard Disney fare.

I have yet to watch The Book of Boba Fett but I do have a question, why the "The Book Of..." in the title? Is he writing in his diary at the end of each episode?
@aroyals3392 жыл бұрын
There is the Book of Eli. I think it's just a way of saying The Story of... Also, the occasional movie/T.V show has "Chapter 1, 2" etc. in it. I think it's just a way of playing into the conception that books/readers are smarter so people will think our show is smarter. As a pretty big reader I have never understood this tbh, it's just another form of media.

I mean, the thing is that the Boba Fett in the OT was english actor Jeremy Bulloch -- it's only the special editions which redubbed his lines with the new zealand guy's voice but it was still Bulloch in the suit in those movies -- and he had a specific vibe and body language which the new actor just doesn't. Even if new guy was 30 years young he'd still not be the same guy. Now I think he was fine as Jango Fett in the prequels, but Jango Fett was a different character completely. What we see in Book Of just isn't Boba Fett.

Great Witcher discussion, I was especially disappointed with Yennifer's arc this season. There's so much they could have done with losing her powers and trying to get them back or learning the live without them. Instead she doesn't do anything the the whole season, then decided she could have her powers back.

The Witcher is terrible. They completely raped the books. None of the characters are faithful (except Cavill) and the storyline... fanfiction at its worst.

Cavill doesn't need a new agent. Henry is such a fan of The Witcher games and books that he approached the makers of the show to play Geralt. It's not on his agent. I agree that Jaskir calling out the audience in a meta way was super cringy but being a foppish, annoying bard is his character in the games and books. The way the actor plays him it's as if he stepped off the set of Xena which, for me, works (for the most part).
@aroyals3392 жыл бұрын
Actually it (apparently) goes a bit deeper, in that he has the same agent as The Rock and basically the Rock gets priority over any roles that he wants. He does need a new agent. I only heard this from a previous open bar or FNT so not confirmed.

Got to disagree about FF7 remake, they are going to screw things up big time in Pt.2, there is a good reason so far we have seen literally NOTHING from it, not even a single announcement, injecting a multiverse/multiple timelines into any story is usually a recipe for disaster (with very few exceptions like No Way Home). If anything the best part of the remake are the parts that stayed faithful to the original and fleshed out stuff that didn't get enough time in the original game, the worst parts were all the completely new stuff like the stupid ghosts and the fate power rangers ... more importantly, how are you going to have any stakes in the following game after the characters have defeated the embodiment of fate itself!!!!?, they clearly wrote themselves into a corner and don't know what to do now, by the ending of Pt.1 this isn't a remake anymore, it's a complete reimaging of FF7, which I'm not interested in at all.

This is Tetsuya Nomura's reinterpretation of FF7. Get ready for the dumbest shit.
@tommieveazey72242 жыл бұрын
Think your mistaking remastered for remake. Remastered is the same game with new coat of paint. Remake takes Liberties and make changes to the original story. Which I love. I’ve beat the first one over 50 times my 40 years.

Cheers Duggler, Mebschlie, Manly Warcry, and Smeagol! Actually Yen broke a cardinal rule of not using fire magic, so she was not a hero. She should have been in mage court explaining herself. But they pulled a Wanda with it: "They will never know what you sacrificed." If you cut out all the stuff without Geralt in it, Season two is pretty good. Too bad that only amounts to 2 1/2 episodes, but at least it is a fast watch. Jaskier's songs even suck as they are using modern language. Toss a coin was great, but all the songs this season sucked except for the one he was harassing the guard with. They were teleporting around like crazy, and the mixing and matching of accents was completely immersion breaking. It was pathetic pandering to agenda over story. Arcane is a 6.5 - 7.0, and is worth a watch. Boba is a 3/10, written for children. 48:40 Az, the guards ARE behind them as they exited the bar. Then they magically disappear in the scene that shows what is behind Boba, until 30 seconds into the fight due to a lazy director (Rodriguez) and bad writing (Faverau). 120% convenience. #BubbaFudd

Disney needs family friendly characters that can do the midday song and dance parade. The Boba Fett shows should be more like Aeon Flux. And he should never be seen without his helmet on.
