He had to lose part of his brain with the operation. He had been a hardworking young man before this took place. He was grocery shopping when he had his last seizure and never made it. You have to understand, the average cop basically only knows two things: how to interrogate and how to punch their spouse/partner. Asking them to learn how to do a third thing would be simply too much cognitive load for them to handle. They would probably have a stroke just trying. That's why they irrationally fear fent; anything that isn't assaulting a spouse or mistreating a suspect only generates an extreme emotional response. If you end up working in an ER, you'll learn what I mean.

They should be taking him to the hospital to get checked out first, but they get better results for talking to people who are suffering. It mostly happens with drug addicts going through withdrawal. Brain dead detectives assumed that because heather was dead on the couch, and he was the only other one home, they assumed he killed her. Which resulted in him being treated as a suspect. Also for context Ryan was completely innocent. His apartment was broken into. He was shot twice in the head and lost consciousness. His girlfriend was shot and killed by the perpetrators. When Ryan awoke, he was in such a poor mental state from his injuries that he thought his girlfriend was simply asleep on the couch when she was actually dead. When her parents hadn't heard from her, they called police for a wellness check I think. And that's when they found her and took Ryan into custody. There's several videos about this case. Edit: I probably got a few of the details wrong but I do remember seeing a video on this case and from what I remember Ryan was most definitely innocent.

Yeah I had a really hard brain trauma and basically you skip around from thought to thought, you just want to sleep and if you do you will probably die but not always. Then you have these moments of clarity but you have to be walked along step by step with the truth. So lets say you were hit by a car and they said "A white car hit you?" youd skip to the truth of that and talk about it, then they might say somehting like "yellow" and "yeah and she has a yellow one", and they will be like "a yellow what?" and then you just dont know what they are talking about cause they said yellow not you, if they knew your memory they could keep you coherent all night like "Yeah she has a yellow bag?" and youd be like "yeah she does, she keeps her stuff in it", so if the cop had of said "so they got you in a sleeping hold, a headlock" he would have been like "yeah" and given more details.

yeh hubby had an aneurysm clot in his brain but we didnt figure out that was the issue for a couple days, at first honestly though it was just a blazing migraine cause he was passing all that kind of "stroke test" stuff. eventually tho it starts shifting his thinking sidewas. long long story but the short point of it is when we saw this initial interrogation we were both like "oh my god. hes got a concussion or someone DID shoot this guy in the head". originally watched a much longer clip of this and i still cant bear to watch it again. it made my husband absolutely sick to his stomach because even though when he tries to recall he can't remember being in that dreamy state when he heard this kid he recognized it immediately :( heartbreaking. And the flipping details thing, (something that happend to someone else, saying it happened to you) -- my mother was doing that the week before she passed in hospice. So if you said "I bumped my knee" there was a chance she would say "I bumped my knee" and echo / reflect it, then insiste it was she who did it, etc. Yes, dying brain matter stuff, as she was passing slowly, yeah, we were watching this poor kid dying on camera. just.. this whole thing was terible :(

tbh most of him died that day because of that detective. Withholding treatment led to him being permanently brain damaged, and he could even be alive and himself right now if this 'detective' had any intelligence.

when i had septic shock, the doc didn't say tell me it was septic shock instead they told it it was a stomach flu because I was able to talk to the doctors but in reality I was just really disorientated and couldn't think properly. Just because I was able to talk properly does not mean I was still currently in immense pain. When I went back to the doctors after a day because the pain and disorientation got worse, and checked my blood pressure, that's when the doc realized I was about to die. And were actually surprised I was able to respond to them and wabbled my way to the office.

Detective was SO trying to place the blame on Ryan for killing his girlfriend when he didn't even want to believe that the kid had been shot in the eye, "Nevermind this little story of Richie and his dad coming in and attempting to murder them both, this kid must've done it and is trying to blame someone else. Who cares if he's faking pain, I'm gonna lock him up." - This detective needed to have his license revoked, publicly shamed, and fired. I hope this eats at you until your end.

Do the math, how did his girlfriend die if it was a bebe gun?!? He should have just stopped talking to them. If they refused to listen to what catered to his well being. Some folk (regardless of their age and overall experience) just don't know how to put 2 and 2 together........much less listen to what is true or makes sense. They're so thirsty to be right, that their ego puts them in a stupor. Only to look and feel exactly like how their ego desires to make them look and feel.

Ryan was treated a lot worse than just the lengthy interrogation. He was in custody for hours at the scene, and wasn't provided medical help by any of the "heroes" at the scene. Their infallible "gut instincts" told them Ryan was the guy, so they chose to mistreat him, because he was, in their eyes, a murdererer. Even if they didn't know he was shot, they still had a duty to get him medical attention, and they chose not to.

People tend to view folks in prison as sub-human and there for punishment, not rehabilitation. Most of these same people tend to view people merely arrested in association with a crime as being guilty. If you combine these things you're surrounded with hostile, bitter people who assume things are true without knowing the facts and wanting people to suffer.
