ever since i could remember, driving around and looking out windows has been my favorite thing in the world, i could watch the world pass me by until i fall asleep, so THIS is sooooooo theraputic, ive always had an obsession with old buildings and their grubby stone walls, so scotland always rubbed me the right way........ THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS its everything for me

what a dreary looking place. maybe my ancestors came from Edinburgh and I want to get to know her and appreciate her but this video tour made her seem so dreary. but there must be more to her as so many people love her so much. so what is Edinburgh in particular and Scotland in general actually like? got to be more than this, lads and lassies...

wish I could have written something more positive but it seems that maybe most non-Latin European cities were built for practicality and in this modern day they don't have much 'personality' such as maybe Paris and Marseille and other such might have. as I stated, perhaps my ancestors came from Edinburgh and I want to know good things and think romantically and wistfully about the city but I didn't see anything to warm my heart. (I'm starting to follow Hibernians F.C. and moreso Hearts.) Maybe a closer look at the people and now just the outside of buildings? Peace

@@garyranieri3856 When you actually walk those streets when they’re full of people, or take a shot at the nightlife, it’s really quite beautiful. The problem with a video like this is that it doesn’t encompass how vertical Edinburgh really is. You don’t realise that at some points you’re actually beneath the places you just drove over.
@globohobo4 жыл бұрын
@@garyranieri3856 It's funny you say that. Maybe in terms of aesthetic it is not as easy to the eye as other Latin cities, I am from Paris and have lived mostly in London and Liverpool for a total of 12 years. I have also lived in Barcelona and Lisbon, but when I compare the practicalities of cities in the UK and other ones where I have lived, each has their own charm, but I find the practicalities of daily lives like for instance proximity to shops and other services easier in the UK in general, needless to say the bureaucracy we love to hate is far smoother in the UK than France, Spain or Portugal. Then of course, the big factor is the weather too. I quite like the look of Edinburgh, and will plan to visit soon, once we get a grip on this pandemic
@garyranieri38564 жыл бұрын
And I hope that you enjoy yourself but I just can't get interested in anything about Scotland, certainly not by viewing these videos. I recently saw a video that showed Scotland as one pile of rocks after another. Now maybe there's more to Scotland than that and there probably is but these videos don't show it. I'm sure that you're doing it the right way namely visiting these places and that's probably where the magic lies namely actually being there and your observations are rather insightful but for me, Scotland still seems rather boring although I have a different background and that certainly is part of it. Au revoir
