Watching these videos instantly brings me to tears. I lost my dad at 13 and before that we used go to FMB every summer. We fished off the pier, ate at dairy queen, went to the silver witch, collected shells on the beach. After he was gone I still went there a few times and the place had this... ethereal feeling for me that I didn't feel anywhere else. His ashes were even spread off the pier in 2011. Knowing that a place that held so many memories with him is gone is something I'm really struggling with. My heart breaks for everyone that lost their lives, homes, and jobs.

We’ve been vacationing on FMB for over 25yrs every single summer so to the full-time Islanders, plz accept our heartfelt condolences. We have so much HOPE tho & we will be back!💪🏻 🧡🐬

A married couple friends of mind intend to move there from up north...one of them quit there job up here and got hired down there...the photos I've seen from them don't show any of this destruction...I'm concerned for them because I think they have gotten over their heads about moving down there...the heat the bugs I know one of them can't take...they have German Shepherds I can't see them surviving in that heat...they both like to walk but one has health issues which would make it impossible to do so...of course they can do move wherever they want but I know they won't be happy and I can't say anything...they haven't sold their home up here yet...I hope and pray I here some good news soon...I don't want to sound mean but I'm glad they did this now so they will get an idea how hot it gets there and make a decision before selling an old home buying a new home they'll regret

I would imagine it’s not much different than a war zone! Right here in our United States! Absolutely unreal! I don’t know how people do it. Payment for the extraordinarily gorgeous view and the posibility of clean hot sand between your toes?!!!!!! I guess❤

There’s a lot of people that are going to that beach that don’t belong down there. They should stay out of the way and let the people get their lives back together and let the other people get it cleaned up.
