Awesome video! I loved how you drove right to the lake superior maritime visitors' centre right by the bridge as soon as you got into town. That's exactly where my friends and I used to drive every time we visited!

My ma did this drive growing up every other weekend until i graduated so me and my sister could see my dad. My ma and dad met halfway at Hinckley. Good times 🙂. We did a slightly different trip starting from Edina.

I’m guessing you started on Highway 62 from Edina? I spent a lot of time when I was younger at Southdale Mall. I enjoy driving to Duluth a lot.

I used to do this drive three times a day for work, used to be great to stop at Tobies every time. Sadly I recently lost my job at BP after a little accident I caused in the Atlantic LOL.

This road can get real busy on a Friday afternoon/evening as people from the 'cities' head "up north" for the weekend. Most pulling boats and trailers and taking their exits to "the lake". Sunday nights can get busy heading south.

Cora, you are so right! And another thing that’s very funny. Everybody in the cities leave work at 3 PM thinking they’re going to beat everybody else and the traffic. However, everybody has that same idea so there’s an even bigger traffic jam at 3 PM heading north. 😂😂😂

Don, I WISH there was no fog as I came down the hill into Duluth. There’s nothing like seeing the lake after driving for two hours. However, I got below the fog as I got closer to the Lift Bridge, so it worked out.

@@vibewithmike Yes, I've made that drive up I35 many times, it's a beautiful divided highway that gets more heavily wooded along the way. Cresting the final hill to see the ''reveal' of Lake Superior is a thrill. There's a nice rest area there.

I kept hoping you would drive over the lift bridge to show people the view and the drive to the beach house. Haha The most stunning view of Duluth is coming down 35 on a clear night. Maybe you can capture it sometime! Too bad it was foggy this day, but it did show the often stark contrast in weather from the Twin Cities to Duluth!
