Regarding Driver Parallel Lines' name. I just think that it's called Parallel Lines because the lines stand for the two eras (1978 and 2006) and how they have their similarities.

GUYS I FIGURED IT OUT Its because if you look closely, there are these little marks on the roads commonly known as 'lines'. they seem to be parallel to each other, thus inspiring the Title of the game.

I remember playing Driver SF together with my grandfather when it came out, he bought an Xbox 360 a few years prior and I picked the game up with some pocket money I had saved. It was a tricky game for me to grasp at the time, but looking back on it now in my 20's I see it as a genuine masterpiece. I've never played a game like it before and I don't think I ever will again, it's so unique in it's own right with an incredible story, phenomenal gameplay and much more. I miss old Ubisoft, they really did make fantastic games once upon a time.

The first time I played Driver 3 I was convinced that when I reached some level Tanner would be back in the big suit, in my opinion Tanner's style from Driver 2 is the best of all, my favorite style, they could open an investigation into finding out who the voice actor for Tanner and Jericho was in Driver 2, 24 years and we never knew who voiced them.

The good thing is that even in the games that are set in "present" time like Driv3r or SF, Reflections always make sure to include a good amount of classic and muscle cars. In fact in Driv3r, I don't think there is even a single modern car in the game.

The timing issue with pad recordings being played back when emulating Driv3r and Stuntman (uses the same engine) is a shame. Only really found out about it last Friday when I tried playing Driv3r again. It seems to be a rounding issue with FPUs where the PS2 did it in a certain way, different from the standard, in order to speed up slow processing time. Hopefully the geniuses who contribute to open source projects can implement a solution. I would try if I had the means to do so.

It would be cool to have a new Driver game again. For its setting, they should have it be the whole contiguous United States, even if they have to use the same or a similar map from The Crew since The Crew 1 has been rendered unplayable just recently. But maybe make the United States on a larger scale than in The Crew where all of the cities, towns and landmarks from The Crew 1 are featured and making sure that every state's largest cities and capitol cities are included too. Vehicle customization can and should be included, being like in The Crew but more in-depth. I also am in favor of licensed vehicles over on-foot action since licensed vehicles aren't in games where they can get stolen or shot. It will be interesting to find a way however where you can have licensed vehicles without on-foot action without a front-end menu. The shift feature in Driver: San Francisco was revolutionary to solve that problem, but I wonder if something else that makes sense using those factors could be achieved. Driver and The Crew are sister series to each other since they're both Ubisoft games, so I don't think it would be too out of the question to have the next Driver game sharing a lot in common with The Crew 1. I also get the feeling that they would've done the whole contiguous United States in Driver 1 if they had the technology to do so back then since it was a cross-country game featuring multiple cities across the USA.
@VortexStory4 ай бұрын
I prefer smaller, but dense open worlds than one shallow map. The Crew is for example not that great for cities environnement

@@VortexStory Sorry but I disagree. The Crew 1 was very lively for its cities. If anything, I actually thought the interstate highways were not done properly since none of them could go from coast to coast like Interstate 90 from Boston to Seattle or Interstate 80 from New Jersey to San Francisco.

They could've used de-badged or modified cars instead of licensed real-world car models, just like Rockstar did to GTA. Especially since it's not part of the plot (Yellow '70 Challenger can be changed to a regular muscle car just like the predecessor). Yes, it could be a selling point, but does it matter if the game must be delisted after 5 years of sales?

@@salvador_mano4x4 They still need to renew music licenses. But that usually only expired in a decade. They still can renew it if they want too because it should be not that expensive (there's not a lot of big names in the music list). Renewing vehicle models licensing is much more expensive and as a game publisher you prefer to release a new game while reusing the models.
