You gotta take the engine out to replace the clutch?
@Drivewaybuilt Жыл бұрын
don't have to, there are other ways, but more likely than not, if you have to change the clutch, your timing belt is probably due as well, to do both at the same time it is easier this way

Driveway, i went back and watch this video again and was wandering what is keeping the flywheel from spinning while you torque the bolts on it?
@Drivewaybuilt5 жыл бұрын
Mostly compression, but when you really need to get on it, there's a wrench on the opposite side to help - half of the time you can just manhandle it

Driveway, where did you purchase the Clutchmasters FX-350 with sprung disc clutch kit from and how much? Also where did you purchase the fidanza aluminum flywheel from and how much? Did you use all the stock oem bolts to mount the clutch and flywheel? I searched for the Clutchmasters fx-350 with sprung disc for my 03 Tiburon GT 2.7 v6 w/6 speed manual tranny and no luck finding one.

Got the clutch on amazon - search for Clutch Masters 05055-HDFF-D around $500 - they tend to list it only for the santa fe there but it is the same; and I picked up the flywheel on summit: fidanza 193461 at about $350 some older tibs have a different flywheel so you may want to check first before ordering. Not cheap by any means but should hold up better at my power level. They are available from other vendors but these were the cheapest at the time. Yes, all stock bolts; you can reuse the old ones.

Driveway, how did the clutch work out for you after you installed it and took it out for a spin? Any noticeble difference using that aluminum flywheel? i love to put in the clutch masters clutch kit and fidanza flywheel but unfortunately i bought one of those XTD stage 2 clutch kit and aluminum flywheel off of EBay and i hope it doesn't give me any problems for a cheap $240 clutch and flywheel kit and its for an all motor setup but eventually i'll supercharge it in the future. I got rid of the dual mass flywheel and went to a single solid flywheel and i don't see it would matter anyway how old the tiburon is or if the flywheel is different because you are simply replacing the stock flywheel and it should work on all tiburon 6 speeds 03-08 and they all use the same clutch. I see in one of your videos you have a super charger on it how about doing a review on it? Is that an NGM supercharger you have on there? Did you buy it brand new and how much did you get that for? I know NGM isn't in business anymore for some reason i don't know why but there is a place in Puerto Rico called Firebruz i hope i got that name right but i think they bought the NGM company and put thier name brand on the parts. They sell the same parts that NGM use to sell like the Assasin super charger kit with the watercooled intercooler and fan setup. The prices are still ridiculously expensive almost 6 grand for the the Assasin super charger kit. What i like to know is how your super charger setup worked out for you, is it worth it? and did you notice a big gain over stock? and how much power you think you gain in horsepower. Thanks for posting all your tiburon vedios i find the very helpful and keep posting more vedios on your tiburon build, thanks again.

So far so good with it, really smooth. I have to break it in first before I can really test it out. There were some 2003's that came with the old flywheel style which positions the starter gear further inward but not much of an issue. The supercharger is a NGM sniper the assassin used the much bigger m90. When ngm shutdown, the guy who owned it moved to PR and joined Fiebruz. I only paid 2200 for the sniper stage 0 so it wasn't bad and I feel it was worth it. As it was before swapping cams, I would say it was making about 250 flywheel as it was still a touch quicker than my crossfire with 220, so saying it made 50-70 hp more on 3 psi would be a close guess. Most stage 2's were at nearly 300 whp

@Drivewaybuilt5 жыл бұрын
yes, that has to be switched over, you don't get a new one

@@Drivewaybuilt ok but that part cames when you buy the oem dual mass because i didnt remember if mines cames with that.. last time o replace all stock with oem flywheel because when my tech put the clutch with a stage 2 kit with solid flywheel the car start with a clutch chatter and i dont k ow if the tech put that part in the new one. So i left the car in another tech and they put me all oem and i dont know if the new oem flywheel cmeas with that part ..
