Hey I'm looking for a clutch setup could you recommend one. And whats the difference between single and dual mass flywheel.

Get the OEM Valeo clutch kit stage 1 or 2, I installed and use the stage 1 which is good but the stage 2 is a little bit better, the dual mass has a dampener within the flywheel, the single mass just has a bit of dampening in the clutch disk, the dual mass is smoother but the single mass is more direct with engagement.

Like I’m legit standing here in this tiny shed with the tiburon all tore apart trying to figure this shit out. How in the hell do I get the sub frame off enough with no lift?!

i know it`s frustrating but you can do it, just jack it up with a floor jack and use jack stands there should be enough room.

So is this a 5 speed manual transmission your working on because it surely doesn't look like a 6 speed transmission? Also how did you pull the transmission out did you have to pull the whole motor with transmission to seperate the 2? Because i know on those 03-08 Tiburons you cannot pull the transmission from the bottom because the subframe is in the way.

thanks i forgot to mention it is a 5 speed, however the process for 6 speed is the same. yes i did have to remove the subframe, some people prefer to pull out the whole engine though. Both ways work, i followed the steps in the shop manual and it says remove subframe.

How did you do it if you pull the subframe out? Whats holding the motor and trans from falling to the bottom completely because if you separate the trans from the motor using the bottom removal procedure the only thing holding that motor is one side engine mount and the 3 mounts are connected to the transmission?@@teebrron

@@1998gst4611 Make sure you use jack stands first before removing the mounts and subframe so the engine can rest on your Jack stands.

Do u have to get that type of clutch to use with a single Mass flywheel or can it be a normal clutch

With a single mass flywheel you have dampeners in the clutch disc, With the OEM setup the clutch disc is solid and the flywheel does the dampening, Its one or the other, either get a single mass kit or the dual mass kit, dont just buy a clutch

after you install this clutch with that flywhell you didnt have a chatter noise?

This sucks so bad I had the same issue I’d push the clutch in and it makes that Terrible noise. Now I’m stuck with no lift and only jack stands and a couple jacks and no mechanical experience on this type of scenario and I have to figure it out alone can’t afford to pay thousands for a shop to do it.

i was in the exact same situation was frustrating but you can do it if you have the time, it took me a couple weeks!! sure feels good when its done makes it all worth while.

You'll need an engine hoist because the best way to do the clutch job is to pull the whole motor with the transmission out which is the easiest way to get to the clutch rather ran try to drop the transmission down from the bottom which you can't anyway because the way the subframe is designed around the motor and transmission. It sucks i had to to that with my 03 Tiburon GT V6 6-speed transmission i learned alot from doing the clutch and transmission job even installed a quaife LSD which i never thought i could tackle by myself. All work done 100% by me i'm proud of my accomplishments.

Not only your clutch disc might be worn down your clutch throw out bearing is done.

when you install this with the convertion flywheel you know the solid ones.. no have chatter noise .. because its horrendus noise

i did have a chatter noise with the stock clutch, but its gone now after installing the single mass conversion kit.
