I would love to see this car (well, with a fixed engine. Or the two setting wheel one would do.) do a moose test, but doing the crab walk. Can it do that faster than a regular car?
@NoNamer1234567892 жыл бұрын
I assume it would indeed be a little bit faster, hard to say how much exactly, though. When the steering wheel is being turned, some of the grip of the front tyres is used to change the rotational energy. And the rear tyres 'lag' behind. With both sets of wheels turning you don't have these problems.

@isaacclark48702 жыл бұрын
It needs a gear to reverse the rear steering directions that way the rear could work either way. The 4 wheel steering on the mazda mx-8 had it so when the car was going slow it turn them opposite directions and the same direction at higher speeds.
@JFBence2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it isn't dependent on speed, but the steering wheel angle. The rear steering always turns the same way, even if the car is stopped. If you turn the wheel just a couple degrees, for example at lane change on the highway, they turn the same direction. When you turn multiple times, like parking, after turning the same direction, the rear axle changes over, and turns the other way to give less turning radius.

Probably should have used clock reading to command the amount and direction of a turn. Such as 3 o’clock, so the front 2 would turn their wheels to 3 o’clock position, to turn right at a low angle, but conversely at the same time it means the rear 3-4 wheels would have been turned to the opposite 9 o’clock position. The rear divers just have to remember they have got to flip their clock positions. As you can see the amount you guys we’re turning the wheels was each different, causing the wheels to “fight” against each other.
