I think that the Village of Norridge is a great example of what a "working class" community should look like.

Its true, although the school "James Giles" is pretty bad. Dont know if its Harwood heighs but, the 6 years I learned there, I saw many drugs and heard stories of people with firearms and weaponry. The hip mall, the mall at the start of the video, is a great mall! There is a target, best buy, hobby lobby, a food court, a gamestop and a hot topic, a teenagers dream. The norridge park always has cool activities, and the field was really close to my highschool, so during our lunch periods where we could leave, we raced down there on bikes and played soccer in the rain and cold if we had to. Soon they are adding an amazon go, and some other grocery store. But all in all, this place is great, not many dangerous people (except gacy) and a bunch of grocery stores to pick from, like richs, target or jewelosco!

I used to be a resident of Norridge. Recently adopted teen gangs and weapon/vehicular violence. Never living there again.

@@chrome7fan I have heard about it but I think Norridge is still safer place to live than Chicago.

it's like taking Wednesday off from work, you're surrounded by the Monday through Friday work week, it's a temporary break from the daily grind, an oasis or island to put it that way.

Wednesday 6/15/22 hump day, I've been to Norridge, I believe Paul Konrad of WGN News resides there if I'm correct.

In the 1960s and '70s my father's aunt lived on Irving Park Rd, not far from the Norridge town line. It boasted the cachet of Chicago's modest working-class housing. Then in Dec. 1979, Norridge suffered considerable collateral damage after the John Wayne Gacy's arrest. His house wasn't located in Norridge proper, but the morbidly curious upticked local traffic generated by heightened local television and newspaper coverage. An unspeakable nightmare all around

That story was dreadful. I read that the "new" house built on Gacy's lot was for sale last year.

I remember my mom and dad telling me we are going to a chuck e cheese in Illinois when I was 4 In 2011 and they tricked me and we went to go bananas in that city and I discovered a Mario kart arcade game and played it a lot.

It is a nice, safe area to live but I don't think there are too many apartment buildings there.
