Oh sweet I didn't realize you bought a Challenger GT! Congrats! I am looking at ordering one in Hellraisin. I have a blown 392 in toxic orange that sadly has had to be my daily this winter (long story) and it's not been fun. LOL Great real world video this pretty much sells it for me. I have a 2021 GT and the thing is AMAZING!! One of the best vehicles I ever owned. Beautiful, handles like a dream, comfortable, great in bad weather. Everything about the car is simply awesome. I live in New England and Winters here can get bad. I too had a Chrysler 200, what I traded in for my GT. So, I totally identify with you comparing the two. I have to say my 200, was HORRID in the snow regardless of tires.

How much clearance do you think a charger could handle? My Taurus limited got stuck in a drift in White out conditions on naval station Newport Rhode island. Took 2 tries and close to 2 hr total to dig out. Obv no car could handle that amount but if I put snow tires on a charger what size would you recommend for taller drifts ?/mounds ?bare in mind my Taurus sits on 19 inch tires. All weather Yokohama. They aren't great for deep snow but great at everything else. Miles ahead of the factory default Goodyear eagle RSA

@@iankelly4008 Snow tires are always the best bet for confidence and control. I still have my GT with goodyear all terrain. Factory size. I have had very good performance. On a charger, I think they sit alittle higher (depending on model) then the challenger. I say stick to factory size...but quality of tire does matter.

I don't know how into performance driving you are, but I would highly recommend learning and practicing rally techniques since you have a car like that. The Challenger GT is begging to be hooned in a snowy area like yours. Team O'Niell has a great channel for that stuff, it's where I've learned the techniques I use. They've also saved me from pretty bad accidents a few times as well.

I believe the charger/challenger have the same AWD system as the 3.6l grand Cherokee’s. You should find anything it can’t handle as long as you have the ground clearance. I’ve driven in 3 feet of fresh snow in my GC on all season tires with no issues.

It is a snow machine for sure, its weight and awd worked good. I hope you video some controlled braking and loops in a big parking lot. I avoid driving in the snow even though my car is good in snow because my state coats all the roads with salt which can corrode the car fast. I am getting some ocd about rust.

I want an AWD suv, but god they seem so boring when I’m inside them, getting on the highway seems scary w the lack of acceleration and blind spots too!

I love driving my 5 speed astra in the winter, I slapped some toyo gsi-6 on there and new brakes in the rear and I like to downshift instead of braking whenever I don't have to come to a complete stop as to avoid spinning out when possible lol. I would like a wrx for my next car as it is a 6 speed AWD and I would like to get some extra traction but so far I have had no issues with the FWD manual

Through snow i travel like 55mph to 60 And that’s on unplowed surfaces while on highway in my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe turbo AWD I just locket the differential and drive where the system generates power to from and back even meaning 50/50 power split.

Jeff the other fun thing to do with AWD, is wait for it to start raining snowing sleet...etc, and the roads slick up..sit at a red light and creep the guy next to you and make him try to follow you when you take off. the two wheels spinning sound effects when they try to keep up never fails to make me LMFAO. and Dude.. owning AWD's will give you a sense of security and self assurance, they you CAN drive in any conditions. my second HONDA PILOT is making me nothing but effective in all weather conditions.

I suggest getting a Throttle Controller like The Pedal Commander. I have a 18’ GT Charger. It makes a big difference in the acceleration. No lag. I always have mine in sport mode, makes it way more fun to drive

this is a unique system, its actualy RWD in warm weather but AWD kicks in in a variety of situations or you can turn it on, but in RWD if the tires get loose it sends power to the front for traction

if they made an AWD option for one of the V8 models Id def get it but sadly they dont lol but I will say the AWD was AMAZING!!! I now drive a 2021 RAV4 AWD and the Challenger was just as good...if you throw decent tires on there or even dedicated winter tires you wil be VERY happy to drive it all through winter...V8 for summer but if you really need to drive in winter for work, food ect get the AWD for sure..

AWD does handles much better then drives 2WD in snow and rain. New tires make a big difference in traction is because new tires and more flex and grip to channel through snow and rain better then either half worn tires especially low tread tires by far. Have you’ve ever noticed when you buy brand new tires they always perform better then half way worn tires because the tires has more meat

A lot of beach sand is applied at intersections, so people can stop at stop signs or traffic lights. there is no V8 AWD anywhere the police use both the 3.6 and the 5.7 chargers and challengers in RWD but those have beefed up brakes and rotors and a stronger suspension I believe...
