Driving Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with Hyde

Never drive Cades Cove in the summer. Visited either before the kids get out of school, or after the kids are back in school! The supposed 2 to 3 hour tour of the Loop took five hours when I drove it in early June 2023. Traffic is stop, stop, stop; go one car length, then repeat.

When people ask how crowded GSMNP is, just tell them GSMNP still set record attendance during the height of Covid in 2020. It's getting to the point where it's not even enjoyable anymore due to the traffic.
