What an awesome trip! Thank you so much for letting us take the journey along with you. Unfortunately, I don't think I will ever make it to USA now (as much as I would LOVE to), but videos like this are so great for getting an understanding of what it is like there. Loved it!

after hours and hours of trees i love how one of the biggest cities in the world just appears NYC knows how to make an entrance.
@clearmist71707 жыл бұрын
Yeah, in New York City, they actually love putting up trees all alongside the expressways. The suburbs of New York City are actually very big, but it feels like you're going through the woods, because they cover up all the roads with lots of trees. Long Island, for example, is a huge suburb, but there are so many trees alongside the expressways, that it feels like you're going through the woods, but you're actually going through lots of city and suburb areas.

to those who travel from Buffalo to New York, don't take the NYState Thruway all the way, it's a longer route and not to mention you gotta pay to drive on a toll road, this video shows the recommended route. Kudos to you @Kevin L

Thanks Kevin for posting. As someone who has relatives in Toronto and used to live in NYC (Brooklyn to be exact) drove on this route couple of time most recent in 2004. Only difference was that I took the Thruway (I90)to Syracuse then I-81 to Scranton in NE Penn. then I-380 to the Poconos and then finally I-80 thru NJ back to NYC. Actually bypassed Downtown NYC/Manhattan and took the Goethals Bridge to Staten Island and then the Verrazano Bridge to Brooklyn. Might use US 20 next time i am in Western NY area. For those driving to Metro NYC from Northern NJ & Beyond and going to say JFK Airport and or Long Island, the bridges thru Staten Island and Brooklyn and finally the Belt Parkway Highway is a great way to skip Manhattan. Still might hit traffic but still less traffic than thru Lower Manhattan/Downtown NYC.

Hope it helps. 1)Grand Island Bridge connecting Buffalo with Niagara Falls 2)Buffalo (Peace Bridge to Ft Erie, On at around 24:00 minutes) 3)Rochester, NY area 4)Elmira, NY 5)Southern Tier 6)Binghamton 7)Western Catskills including Liberty and Monticello, NY (former home of a famous race track and now a casino) 8)Middletown/Walkill NY/Orange County in the Hudson River Valley 9)Bear Mountain/Central Valley 9)Rockland County and Bergen County, NY in the nearby suburbs of NYC 10)George Washington Bridge 11)NYC/Manhattan.

He took the long cut. I have no idea why he took the 400 to get off in West Seneca, then back on to get off on 20A. He should have just stayed on I-90 East. Plenty of places to stop and get gas, eat, etc. It was nice scenery's but took an extra hour plus.

You can go 7 hours West to Buffalo/Ontario, or go 6 hours North to Montreal. There’s also 2-3 hours east of NYC to get to Montauk. At the most extreme points it’s maybe 10 hours give or take. Google says 9 hours, 525 miles.

@hbic33 жыл бұрын
Not possible. Firstly, Toronto to Niagara Falls is NOT 2 hours, more like 30 mins(unless the bridges are backed up) and the. The drive from NF to NYC is MINIMUM 5 1/2 hours. A FLIGHT from NYC or Niagra Falls is an hour and a half. If you only traveled an hour or so from Niagara Falls, you were in BUFFALO, NOT NYC
