Hello Todd! This is Robin and Paul. We met you in The Food Lion parking lot this afternoon in Nags Head and gushed over your fabulous rig prior to directing you out of the parking lot. We hope that all worked out well and you reunited with Sheila for a stellar OBX camping experience. This is our home and we are so proud of our golden strand. We embrace our visitors with much love and we’re happy to guide you to get the most from your visit! We’ll be following you in You Tube and sharing your adventures with others! 🩷🩷

Not sure if you use iPhones, if so you can create a shared checklist - as you check items off the list it is immediately shared between the two of you. Comes in very handy - we still use one! Looking forward to you both in SC!

One thing to remember when turning take as much room as you have if you need it or not. Also when going down hill you can do it a million times to slow, but only once to fast.
@Powerstroke9810 ай бұрын
Very well stated! After driving big rigs for 10 years, getting use to 'slow' on steep mountainous downgrades, is different than with a pickup truck, as the weight pushing you in this rig will be much greater. Slow and easy gets you to your next destination!

I pulled modular and double was for almost 30 years for a living. If I've got one word of advice on the open road is to not keep looking left and right out your mirrors, you have a tendency to move that way when you look that way. You wanna look, but just don't do it every 5 seconds. Trust your Instincts. I bet you look beautiful going down the road. Happy for you to.

12:52 you see the lip on the steel? You see the rust starting to build up? Seal the entire gap and paint it to prolong the life. Do that on every steel gap you can find if its only been spot welded. If you travel in salt road areas it will blow into those gaps and rot from the inside out.

Apart from looking like a wet lettuce CONGRATULATIONS ! you made it. It might be a good idea for a internal and external check lists for each of you then you can check each other also purchase some walkie talkie s (hands free style) so you can send out instructions reversing into tight spots it might save frazzled nerves and vocal cords, only thing i spotted incorrect was zero reg plate on the rear of the trailor which will be a police attraction. After over 35 years winding up landing legs , seeing yours go up on the press of a button was shear envy we just dont have those in the UK . Good luck safe driving and stay away from the soft stuff.

Okay it looks so much more homey now than in Tampa for sure. The whole setup is BEAUTIFUL! For the air lines connecting under the license plate, I’m not sure how much friction is there, but they have glad hand “handles” that will protect the airlines right there and strengthen it if needed? This whole setup is just wild and awesome. Good work and congratulations.

Always always ALWAYS do a tug test. It can literally be hooked up and appear to be latched fine and your fifth wheel just randomly fails. A tug test before raising the landing gear ensures that if it failed, your trailer stays up like it’s supposed to.

@@SwitchItUpLife ; AWESOME video! I drove big trucks for 26 years and sure wish my wife and I could own a rig like yours. Even after TWO tug tests, you should get under the trailer EVERY time to verify that the fifth wheel's jaw is locked fully around the trailer's king pin.😉
@rickcarroll436610 ай бұрын
You might want to find that air leak. Every time I saw you start that truck you had to wait for the air to build. That’s not normal unless the truck has been sitting a long time in between start up, like days…. You don’t want to be driving that rig if the air leak decides to completely let go. I’m sure you know the brakes will lockup on you. Good luck with the new setup.

Maybe baby safety locks will work for a few of your upper cabinet pulls. Another thing, when your at a truck stop go ask a household mover truck driver if he can give you a rubber bungee they use for wrapping furniture pads. That would work perfectly for the dining room chairs. Just wrap it around all 4 of the chair back rests. I was curious if a camera at the top back facing forward would be a good idea for viewing low branches that you can view from the cab. Looks good guys, a few of my friends and I are placing bets on time frame on how long its gonna take Todd to was the trailer. I've got 4 hrs. No cheating Todd, by using the truck wash companies. (Trailer only)

New to your channel......as a 35-year truck driver might I suggest that you try taking left turns from the right side of the road instead of the left. Your air lines are not DOT compliant and the plate being there is a hazard to the airlines and electrical line being underneath.
