Tedward is bang on with his assessment here. I too am a Lexus GX460 daily driver. My wife opted for this as our entry into EV world and as her replacement for her 2012 equinox. We drove an AWD blazer first and were highly impressed and loved the power but it wasn’t at our price point. The equinox was sitting there and it’s a good looking car. We took the FWD for a drive and loved it. She was sold on the super cruise. It’s amazing in case you are wondering. A lot of EV and a lot of car for the money here. It feels like you are driving a little sports car with the way it wraps around you. And yes, it’s very smooth. I find myself stealing it all the time to run errands. Much nippier than the GX!

The lack of a start/stop switch shows that GM is beginning to understand EVs. I would appreciate a quick passcode screen pop up to prevent children or thieves driving off in the car when the key is accidentally left in the cup holder. This car has so many more plus’s than minus’s that make it a great choice in the marketplace, especially at the current price. GM is back in the EV game in a great way.

We purchased the 2025 Equinox EV 1LT and we absolutely love it. Lots of dealerships in our area are doing EV loyalty discounts as well as the federal tax credits. If you own a chevy bolt at the time of purchase, we got $3,000 off the MSRP of the car. It is comfortable and feels luxurious for the price. My only gripe is that the stereo speakers don't sound the best in the base model, but that can easily be fixed and I'm being picky because I am a music lover. Definitely worth the buy if you want an affordable long range EV.

This feels like a move destined to fail. Also, we are gonna have more and more integration coming for newer cars. The Equinox name is the second best-selling vehicle in the portfolio, behind Silverado. They most likely chose the name because it has major brand recognition for both new existing and new customers. Great review, as always. I put 50mi on one last weekend. Incredible tech in a so-so car. Hard plastic rules and your elbows rest on very firm surfaces. Odd, considering Super Cruise will beg for your elbows to rest - why did they give us boards? The glare from the long dashboard on the windscreen in the afternoon sun was distracting. Great size, pricing, features, and options list. It ticks a lot of boxes, just feels a bit cheap in parts. We drove on a few twisty foothill mountain roads - feels like a big heavy EV and I wouldn't want to go there often. Best for the flat suburbs & highways.

This is expensive but still a really nice car for the money. Dual zone climate. Head and vented seats. Rear cupholders. Power liftgate. Big Sunroof. Decent quality. Blind spot monitoring and many other safety features. It is like a GM Prius but better. I think that car doesn't really need a 7k tax credit. A top trim camry is 44k and has similar features to this. The thing is that a camry will scream when you are climbing a big hill going on to the highway- this EV will be mostly silent. Sure, resale value might be junk and it 10 years this will be sitting in a junkyark (or we will get another cash for clunker program) but if you just need a nice car for life this is great. I don't like GM and their 1.2 Turbo but you can't disagree with the fact that they are doing great things for the cost. Value is great- almost as good as a used Lexus. I have spent hours scoring cars. Our family owns a 2014 Lexus RX 350. Great car. 163k miles and drives like new. It has features that modern cars don't (like an outdated navigation). We paid 15k for it (it had 157k miles then). It has had a fog lamp fall out (currently resting on some plastic and melting it) and needed the keyfob worked on (remote start) but it is a great car considering it is 10 years old and about a fourth of the price of a modern new car. Our 2016 Buick LaCrosse is also a great car. It is lacking a lot of safety features and doesn't support any form of navigation but it has things that a top trim 2024 Buick Avenir doesn't have. To be fair an Envista tops out at 31k and we bought the LaCrosse for 35k 8 years ago. It has a power passanger seat unlike the 2024. If you got a top of the line LaCrosse you were getting a true luxury vehicle. Rear power sunshade... v6 that makes 304 HP... 4 way lumbar... HUD... some of the greatest ambient lighting for a car of the time... leather wraped volume knobs... etc. The only benefit of buying a new car compared to a well taken care of used car is that you are getting a warranty. A used car can be nicer and for much less money. You are getting a lot from this car for 47k or low 40's with the tax credit... but you could also buy a low mile 2022 Avalon for half the price with similar features or even an 8 year old Buick with more features. GM is killing it with value but nothing will beat buying a used car.

The only thing I hate about it is the name. Why did they call it the "Equinox". We all know what a Chevy "Equinox" is, at least we did until now. This is something new and completely different from an "Equinox". Give it a new name. If you want to recycle an historic GM model name, there are plenty available that are way more prestigious than "Equinox". How about "Beretta"? Maybe "Nova"?

@@Jaymac933 we have very different experiences with GM. I am still waiting on a thermostat for my 2023 trailblazer since I got the car under 20k miles I’m now at 65k miles on that. My tesla has had repair parts needed but they usually have came within the week and tesla drives out to me for free to install that, and the one time I had to go there they gave me a Model S while waiting for my Model 3 which Chevy has never but of course they have salesman to try and get me into a new car. This is just my experience I know everyone is different but this is how it is for a lot of people when comparing companies like this. Now the Elon musk thing is blown out of proportion no one ever complains and boycotts companies like Apple, Samsung, and amazon for doing crazy things to employees and using slave labor for production but Elon says one thing bad on twitter and the world stops 😂

How does the Model 3 compare to this in terms of price in the USA? As far as im aware, the charging experience in the Tesla including the speed and planning of charging stops is by far the best and the overall infotainment is among the top. The facelifted model 3 is supposedly better in some ways with double paned windows and suspension upgrades, but in terms of interior I would take this one every day of the week and im sure many people prefer the more standard car look with physical buttons, instead of the model 3 minimalst design, too. I'd have to see a 1000km challange from Bjorn Nyland to really see how the battery system performs
