@@miloworld1070 would that method save fuel over a large amount of time as you dont have the gas on as long
@mandeep14135 жыл бұрын
@@gamesmaster1060 I'm not sure about fuel efficiency but I do feel quickly applying the gas after the biting point is the right way. I have tried to follow the tip suggested in the video and have to admit it's quite tough to master(keeping the right foot ever so lightly still on the gas then lifting the clutch with the left foot to the biting point) and yes I'm someone who learnt on a diesel car that shoots forward with only half clutch. Also I feel this method will change how one starts their vehicle be it on a plain ground or on a hill. On plains I find one can pull away without any gas. Gas after bite is applicable to all situations.

Today first day of my life driving..i press acceleration race to 5000 rpm mistakely cos of confuse.. thanks to clutch .. or else it might end up in drain
@CrazyInWeston5 жыл бұрын
@@mandeep1413 Diesels are much easier in that respect of clutch before gas. I learned in a diesel. Petrols stall easier but its not to say that you cant do it, because you can, but there is less leeway so some may find it harder on petrols at first. I've picked up the bad habit of holding the footbrake on a hill instead of applying the handbrake, then just before moving off, i find the biting point and then off the footbrake to the gas to pull away, and thats on a petrol.

~I am Indian. We've got ill disciplined drivers in India. Suppose there is a traffic signal uphill and vehicles stop to a red. Countdown begins from let's say 60. When it's counting down 7...6...5 etc.. drivers behind starts blaring horns at full volume. Beginners get panic and stall. ~Another observation is roundabout. There aren't many roundabouts here. But in those that we have people don't know how to drive. They think vehicles on the main(broader) road gets priority no matter what. Even I came to know about proper roundabout rules from self research. We are a light year behind you in driving culture. But these driving videos are both knowledgeable and refreshing. Thank you. In my country, people don't keep their distance from the car in front of them so it's a bit scary to drive in heavy traffic up a hill or on an inclined road. I wish my country had a more demanding program to apply for a driver's license. Keeping your distance is something that to me is common sense. Your driving is exceptional.

Hi! Keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front is important, not only for safety but it also means you'll avoid harsh or over-braking and an overall less stressful way of driving. There's always more to learn and hopefully improve on.

I passed my test in November last year, uphill starts are still one of those things I’m not great at. So thanks for this video as it refreshes my memory from when I was learning! 👍

Maybe you can give me some tips 😂 just passed my test. Currently trying to get used to my new car which has a much higher clutch compared to my learning car. When on a hill I could stop the car dead still by just finding the bite not even using the handbrake unless I was there for a while. Don’t even think I was giving it gas just literally holding the bite so the car doesn’t roll back. Can’t seem to do it in my new car 🤷♂️ I’m finding the bite but then it’s stalling so maybe I just need more bite? Any tips haha

A good tutorial on driving a standard transmission in a city. I learned how to drive a standard transmission in Toronto when few a stick shifts around . Automatics transmissions were an added cost. I think if there were more instructions like this in Canada there would be more on standards in use. Now a days it seems that all cars come with automatics. I found standard transmissions were better for driving in the snow. Standard transmission car could be rocked back and forth to get unstuck.

I'm learning in a diesel car, and my instructor has taught me to just use to clutch and brake, and not the gas pedal (accept for when accelerating). It can get a little tiring having to do all the changes in stop start traffic, it certainly exhausts me on my lessons.

EinkOLED because diesel have higher torque. But technically you have to press a little bit of gas pedal so you can control your clutching. A steeper hill need more gas to be added to clutching so you can get that biting point where your car stuck on hill ready to move forward. When you have mastered it, it'd be fun to drive a manual transmission car.

Make sure you use gas as if you buy a petrol car it will stall doing this

Dave The Rave I had 10 hour lessons in a petrol car and found it annoying having to balance the clutch and gas whilst waiting to release the hand brake. Much easier to just use the clutch and brake pedal with my current instructor. In fact in my current petrol car I can still control the car safely with just the clutch without stalling. Once I pass (9 days before my test) I'll decide which is best. I have pretty good clutch control due to experience as a full motorcycle licence holder.

EinkOLED It's up to you, when you get a petrol car always do gas before clutch to prevent stalling. Diesel cars have more power so using the clutch with brake doesn't stall as easily but it does cause damage to the clutch because the foot brake is 10x more powerful than the handbrake alone so don't get into the habit to do brake and clutch unless you have experience like you said. Personally I do both but 70% of the time I use the handbrake to move off.
