A big thank you to Professor John Lennox - it has often confused me why churches focus so much on ministry work, and not the more common, usual work of many believers. It was all sorted out after I was water baptised and given the gift of the Holy Spirit - I realised I needed to bring Jesus into every aspect of my day - from the moment I woke up until I went to sleep. I would talk to God while I was at work, and ask Him to help me to a good job for the organisation and be a helper and support others. It changed my attitude towards work and colleagues so much - it is far more enjoyable. I walk so closely with God that I find myself talking to Him all the time!! At home, at work, at a cafe with a friend, while gardening, etc..my identity is now found in Him, and I am not the same person.

I am so grateful for this interview and teaching. It makes me think afresh about what my role is in the kingdom as I do my secular job. I teach and think about my students' future eternity a lot, and while I am prohibited from actual teaching about God, I can always work to make sure that my students see Jesus through the way I love them by my actions and caring toward them. I look forward to reading the book!

As a carer for my 84 year old mother i sometimes selfishly thought is there where God really wants me to be . Now I am 100% sure and in no doubt, im learning to be patient along with many other areas in my life as before I became a born again christain after hitting rock bottom from drink and drugs addictions and through Gods grace alone received forgiveness through Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and the gift of the Holy Spirit to teach me all things, to my own shame I must admit I am slow to learn but God can and has now given me conformation from watching this interview that all is well, just keep soldiering on even though being a carer is not as easy as some may think. Glory to God.

James, I was a full-time carer for my father for 12 years. I lost him 18 months ago, several months shy of his 100th birthday. He died in my arms at hospital. My father and I never got along with one another, but as a result of caring for him across all those years, to take in the very same difficulties I'm sure you are facing, we became the best of friends. My father became my son. I now say that my father and I were living proof Love works. During his final days, I said to my father : "I love you!" He replied: "And I love you!" I swear, although it was my dad's voice I heard speak those words to me, it was my Father in Heaven saying it! There was a different energy to it, a different dynamic. In light of your situation, as it was with my own as I believe it is for all care-givers, the carer's plight as I came to experience it, is the loss of one's identity. Engaging in some creative endeavour helps independently of the creativity within the act of caring. Care-givers! Is there anything more noble, more Christ-like, than caring for another in their time of need as you are now caring for your mother. Trust me, you are doing the right thing! God bless you and your mother!

@@PhillipLWilcher Thank you and thanks be to God for your words of encouragement. I honestly didn't get along with mother just like your situation with your dad. Very encouraging as i now do get along with my mother, its cruel to see her not being able to go anywhere, homebound using a Zimmer frame. Its a tough task but she had a tough time with me growing up so ive accepted that God placed me here and for good reason as my 2 sisters and brother couldn't careless, sadly these are now the times we live in but God is so good and as you know in all things God works for the good of those who love him. Thank you so much for your time and reply, i really do appreciate this ,and if im honest Ive been praying for some encouragement from God as this is answered prayer. God bless you and your family. Blessings from Ireland.

@@jamesmcallister9645 Like your two sisters and brother, my elder brother did not help me in caring for our father either; he showed no interest in dad's health concerns. None at all, and he has a medical background! And so, I can sympathise with you in that regard too. It's not easy, but that you have accepted the challenge of carer shows you are the better person, the one in whom God's own Faith resides as are you faithful to Him. Trust me, you are not alone! Stay the distance of your calling, for an even greater strength will come of it, believe me! Continued blessings to you, James! And to your mother!

Thanks Dr. John. Sometimes people (you) touch on truths that resonate in the hearers (me) spirit as truths, aha moments, so and when we live for the future it is easier to get to the realization that we need to let go of troublesome emotionally tied ghosts from the past in our thinking, freeing up our thinking so we can devote that space to our Lord rather than be distracted by the devil.

My thought is in heaven its like earth but Satan has no access...so every thought you think only the truth can be conceived in your mind. No evil idea or confusion of whats true will be there. Its a world with God only. This world is up for grabs...and Satan is influencing our thoughts and actions.

Jesus talked about taking his disciples to heaven. He was talking about the rapture. The day no one knows the day or the hour. When he would come like a thief in the night. He was not talking about his return at the start of the millenium reign, as once the 7 year judgment starts we will know when he will return. So he said we/Christians should recognise the signs of the times and the season when the rapture would likely happen. That is NOW. The world will not realise the rapture is approaching but Christians should. This is also the day of visitation and we have seen and can see that judgment is coming on the world. There is great turmoil and uncertainty and Christians should recognise this and act accordingly. They should be helping out those that are suffering in current circumstances and they should be exposing the lies of fake news, fake science, fake knowledge and fake gods and praying for mercy as intercessors. GOD Holds the hammer, the axe, the sword, the rod and the staff. Seeking the kingdom of God is about seeking the Holy Spirit and pleasing and not offending the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God is the Holy Spirit in us. This is fundamental to the way we live and work. Modern day entertainment and values vex the Holy Spirit. Sowing a seed is giving 10% of salaries in thanksgiving.

I agree there is a crisis of meaning in the modern world but I don't think it's anything to do with naturalism and I don't think it's solved by believing what someone wrote 2000 years ago in Greek recording what a man said based on conversations with someone who talked to someone who talked to someone who might have might have heard this man speak in Aramaic.

John has sided with the god of this world and accepted Big Bang and even told Dawkins he believes evolution as Darwin saw it. John has decided friendships with the world will get him into comfortable positions in Ivy League places. John rejects what God has told us about creation, then plays a game of avoidance when the obvious ramifications of his compromise comes up. He should not be touted as a great apologist of our time, he is not, he should repent. Instead of destroying arguments and every lofty pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, (2nd Corinthians 10:5). he plays go along, get along. Sad. James 4:4.

Young earth creationist or old earth creationist... an interesting subject but seems to me to be a very secondary issue to the main point which is the gospel. I believe the devil uses such secondary differences among christians to promote division and weaken our main purpose to be salt and light. Hope that is fair to say.
@greenguitarfish
@greenguitarfish Күн бұрын
@@roypallister2740 I am a Biblical Creationist. The age of the earth is not the point. What does the Bible say, that is the point. The gospel does not just appear with the birth of Jesus Christ, it is predicated on the history that God illuminated us with in the Old Testament. All scripture is God breathed. Evolution and Big Bang are incomparable with biblical history, and to corrupt scripture with these worldly (Satanic ) ideas is to introduce the idea of millions of years of death and suffering before original sin. That means God instituted death, disease and suffering in his perfect original paradise. That means death and suffering is not our fault, it’s God’s fault ! God had it going on for millions of years before the fall. ( The fossil record record is full of death disease, like cancer and killing and suffering. It’s actually the graveyard of the flood, but not according to Lennox ) God said of His perfect creation “IT IS VERY GOOD.” Do you not see the ramifications of a perversion like this ? What kind of god would call cancer very good ? Death is called the last enemy to be destroyed in 1st Corinthians 15:26. How could death be called an enemy if God instituted it in His original perfect creation ? These glaring inconsistencies are not lost on young minds. They no longer see scripture as authoritative and trustworthy. That is a VERY BIG reason so many are leaving the faith of their parents. John Lennox and his ilk resides over this exodus. So, this is very much a gospel issue.
@greenguitarfish
@greenguitarfish Күн бұрын
@@roypallister2740 Actually, I’m a Biblical Creationist. The age of the earth is not the point. It’s not a secondary issue because the gospel message is predicated on the biblical history starting with Genesis as a very important foundation ! Satan has undermined that foundation which negatively impacts gospel message in the minds of many. You have underestimated his deceitful power. Lennox and others are pushing Satan’s perversion on the church. They do it because they love the praise of men rather than the approval of God. If the creation account is not defended, but instead Big Bang and evolution is forced into the biblical narrative, the gospel no longer makes any logical sense because it would mean God instituted death before sin. How can Jesus death on the cross redeem the world if death was part of His original plan ? This is another gospel, which is no gospel at all, as Paul would say. It cannot be defended logically once you’ve contaminated holy scripture with the philosophies of this age. Think about it. There is a reason we are loosing generations. Kids aren’t stupid, they see this compromise as lack of faith in scripture, which it is ! Satan rewards people like Lennox with comfy positions and lofty speaking engagements. People like Richard Dawkins don’t mind having debates with Lennox, because they know before they utter a word, they have already won. He is already compromised, and has bowed the knee to them, and accepted their Big Bang evolutionary faith.
