I have been using LDN for well over a year, prescribed by my GYN (a very enlightened GYN) it started giving me relief within the first month and no noticeable side effects for me. Wish it was a covered RX.

i was hoping you would talk more about long COVID and fibro. I have had chronic Lyme disease and was diagnosed with Fibromyositis. I realize many people use Fibromyalgia and Fibromyositis interchangeably but my doctor said this was Fibromyositis because of inflamed spots in my muscles not just soreness. I had had Chronic Lyme disease for 16 years when I was diagnosed with it and also with Lyme disease caused MS. When I heard people talk about the Long Covid symptoms I thought it seemed very similar to what I'd been having for a long time.

We are definitely going to talk much more about long covid and fibro, just want to be able to devote several episodes to covering it as it’s complex.

I was prescribed Flexirol 10 years ago when living in Canada. It was one of the best thing I ever had to help me sleep, relax and reduce pain. When I moved to the UK, I was told it was too dangerous and had to insist for months before I was finally prescribed metacarbamol…! I hope Tonix will soon be approved in the UK. Thanks for all that great info! ❤

I would love to know with both of you what a typical day and typical week looks like for you. I’m struggling to function in a way that would enable me to work and it’s been almost 13 years now. I seem to get spurts of almost normal functioning but both of you seem to be able to maintain consistency and I’d love to know how you do it.

Excellent question. We will discuss it in a future episode. The long of it that we will go into on the show are the various strategies and the short of it is we face the same challenges as you and there are times the consistency has not been there for us. We will share what we do in those times. Thanks for watching 🫶

Cost for the Alpha Stim M is impossible for me because I live on a small fixed income from SS disability. I am very grateful to have the Disability pay though. I had to hire an attorney to take me through all of the denials that I was first given, but after two years and going before a SS Disability medical board and judge, I was awarded full disability and of course, Medicare. My attorney helped me by explaining we had to present all of my diabilities including long term depression. I had about 6 years of medical records to give the attorney at our first meeting. I was given disability at age 44, 17 years ago.

I have issues with Fkexeril. It really knocks me out. When I took it, it made me extremely tired. I took while I was still employed and I would literally fall asleep standing up. It was awful. It would be great just taking it before bed and I’d be able to sleep at night.

Hi, there have been studies about SAMe and fibro. They did see improvements for pain, mood and joint health. It has fewer side effects than antidepressants (no weight gain or sexual problems). I would love your opinion about SAMe!

Thank you for another great episode! I am so glad you are both doing this-it's very exciting! A question on the Quell research: in the study "Higher Pain Sensitivity Predicts..." (10.1111/ner.13463), it looks to me like Quell was found to be no more helpful than the "sham" TENS unit and both were only helpful for patients with high pain sensitivity. This is interesting because it seems to indicate that TENS (possibly in that location, but possibly not) is helpful, but doesn't tell us much more. Do I have that right? I personally don't respond well to TENS units in general (but have not tried Quell), and I think I am probably not in the high pain sensitivity category (assuming that means acute pain sensitivity to external stimuli). I wonder if people who DO see benefits from TENS units would see any additional benefit from Quell. My guess, based on my reading of the study, is they would not. If that's the case, it is disappointing on the one hand since this Quell may not be additive for them, but it also means that if you already have a TENS unit you like, you probably don't need to try Quell? Maybe just see if your own unit works better behind the knee and save the money? I am so happy when I see products and treatments for fibromyalgia but I am even happier when there is quality research that can help us figure out where to spend our money and where we can skip it.

The slide we shared is what a doctor with neuromodulation expertise shared at PAINWeek. According to his data, there was a significant difference between the active and control group, in the higher pain sensitivity subgroup. You are welcome and thanks for the feedback.

I have high intensity pain and was looking at the quell device I have to take opioids at night and want to taper off I do have a tens unit that also is an interferential and a neuromuscular component I'm wondering if I try this behind the knee might I see more benefit? Can you forward me the journal article that you researched to find out about this information? Thank you
