I think he said along the lines of ...whatever you do when you run across holiday temptations, eat something healthy FIRST.

I fully sympathize with the person asking about being stuck in the subway. One of the few times I've experienced real panic was being stuck standing in the middle of a completely packed, broken down BART train. If they had a way to pump fresh air through the cars like they do on airplanes then that'd probably help calm people down a bit.

Apparently a minority of us do NOT have normal satiation mechanisms. I have eaten a very strict SOS WFPB diet for about 4 years and if it tastes good, I will eat until bursting without conscious effort...even though I would like to lose more weight. Every time I ask about it I'm told I must be doing something wrong... adding oil, snacking on junk, drinking calories, whatever, but I am not, and I did lose over 100 lbs when I switched. Ad libitum isn't appropriate for some of us I guess, so how do you learn draw the line when your body doesn't seem to know limits?

Char Covelesky is it every starch that this happens? Maybe you're sensitive to certain grains and it spikes your insulin more. Try to pay attention to exactly what foods trigger overeating.

Char Covelesky you can't draw the line so you need to eat more vegetables and eat only two meals a day without snacking.

+Peter Rabitt Not sure if you were exaggerating but I just checked and 6000 calories potatoes is about 18 pounds with almost 200 grams of fiber. I'd like to see that, lol
