Hitman is an exception. Made with a completely different team from the originals yet it's EASILY the best Hitman so far. Replayability is insane, and they nailed the gameplay. It's basically the Hitman game I've always wanted. I've HARDLY touched another game since 2018, just playing nothing but Hitman lol. It's that good to me, still.

Rockstar's gameplay has been going downhill anyway. Too many absurd fail states for missions and restrictive mission design. It makes the game boring. Gta v and rdr2 have this huge problem that makes them less than fun. This is a modern game problem. If gta vi doesn't change this aspect of gameplay then it'll be dead in the water for me personally. It'll sell millions and break records but it wont be a good game unless rockstar gives the player choice

I wonder if a employee revolt happened at Rockstar sometime after RDR2. Around then is when they rolled out the 'no crunch' and all the news articles about how the 'frat boy' clique at Rockstar was no more. GTA VI based on some news has been rebooted several times in its development, meaning it probably lacked a good unified vision several times. This probably lead to a lot of workers quitting or protesting. What I think happened was there was a general revolt, and a bunch of employees wanted to take legal action or unionize. The Houser's agreed to hear them out and the DEI floodgates got opened up. Dan Houser probably got forced out, and Michael Unsworth and Lazlow joined him in protest. They probably couldn't force Sam Houser out. As with both Houser brothers gone it would sink Rockstar in the eyes of many people. So they kept him on as a control, but after GTA VI he might leave the company.

GTA 6 will 100% be watered down in terms of story telling compared to the previous titles and it's no question. They've hired DEI consultants and nearly every white member of staff have completed courses for it. We might be a bit worried tho, some of the rockstar games personal have publicly shown their woke believes in X (former Twitter), and rockstar games even had some courses about DEI for their developers team. Also, GTA VI had some leaks as well, about GTA VI having less jokes about LGBTQI+ community, so they will joke about some "politically correct things", but not the usual GTA humor joking about everyone and everything? had the pleasure of working for Leslie as a contractor years ago when he'd just started Build A Rocket Boy, brilliant guy. Everyone I've worked with who knew him has had nothing but positive things to say about the guy and was a real champion at R* North (Edinburgh) from what I've heard. Several of the people who worked on 3/VC/SA have also said they weren't surprised by much in the lawsuit on either side but Leslie was always the golden boy when he was there.

There's more to this story if you have been paying attention recently to what the current Rockstar devs have been saying on Twitter. Yeah I mean look at RCA and Polaroid. They were two of the biggest companies in the world during their peak and people said they were too big to fail. Now they just get their names thrown onto random shit to make a quick buck, and while rockstar and those two are different types of companies in different fields the same shit could happen to both. No company is too big to fail, mistakes are made, people disagree with a companies views or stop buying their products and they can still fail and end up just like RCA and Polaroid. And I think if anyone has any common sense they'd look at the shit that Rockstar tweets and disagree with it but at the same time Rockstar isn't Rockstar anymore, they're a corporate entity now and have been since take two bought them out. So now everything they do, say and release is gonna be filtered and mediated by take two to be as "inclusive" and "politically correct" as possible and as much as I don't like to say it it's probably gonna stay that way until something forces a change or the company falls, whether it be Rockstar or take two as a whole.

An early E3, this was showcased. A new game tester to the industry was showing off Gta3. He was just playing the game as he would when doing QA. He just happened to kill some cops during a mission. Unbeknown to him, several LAPD was walking the floors. The game immediately caught there eye. UGH, this shouldn't have been shown! but the LAPD loved it. they continued to bring the rest of their teams working the Convention center. COPS LOVED IT!!
