To be long term effective on Keto, I suggest doing what you can to keep carbs low, and enjoy all the fatty red meat you can handle. If you just have to have a cookie, donut, "crap food," then don't make it be a habit more than 1-2 times every two weeks. I have noticed that the taste of those crap foods have changed from what I remember, I don't enjoy Quiktrip donuts like I used to. I keep asking myself, "Why get this if you know you don't enjoy it?" I should stick to keto desserts and call it a day. If I have to have an alcoholic drink at a restaurant to enjoy, then I do that instead of crap food every couple of weeks. Mainly at home you can have the non-starchy veggies, you can have things like faux mashed cauliflower. Etc, make a good cole slaw from keto type ingredients. If someone's thing is a baked potato, make that something you do every couple of weeks instead of a dessert. The other thing is you don't have to use any foods like that at all that causes significant blood sugar spikes. The point is, you don't have to live like you're dead. But you do need to exercise knowledge and control. Last Note anything bread or tortillas you buy in a store that says keto net carbs 0-1, yea this is all a lie. Wheat, some have seed oils, and flour. Gee I wonder why it spikes my blood sugar it should only have 1 net carb. It is a marketing ploy because people like us are waking up to eating better food and not buying their poison anymore. I've been eating better since October of 2021!

I've been doing keto for 3 months, fasting and working out 3-4 times a week. Definitely noticing my body composition changing (more muscle less fat). But my fasting glucose is still over 100, around 110. How long does it typically take? Could it be I'm not producing enough insulin instead of being resistant?

I think the problem is any carbs will lead to more carbs, that is the problem. I went carnivore finally after KETO, ketovore, fasting and intermittent fasting and I finally dropped my last 25 lb. Now I can have one or two cheat meals a month where I have no guilt and eat what ever I want and that’s it, anymore and I start gaining weight.

Hi ! What about Triglycerides ? This lady doesn't take into account the LDL but look at the triglycérides and the HDL/triglycérides ratio instead !! That's because there is LDL-c and LDL-p and your blood test results for LDL doesn't help to distinguish which ones you have so that's not a very helpful info at all. If you have low triglycérides and low HDL/triglycerides ratio there is a very high probability that your LDL is the good kind and that there is nothing to worry about. _

I am very intrigued because i see your fasting insuline was low in jan 2025 but on the same day fasting glucose isn't super low (but still it's not high!) _ just intrigued. I have no idea about the meaning of low insuline ! _ it's normal to have some glucose in the blood 😊 you wouldn't want to be under 75 fasting glucose in the morning coz that would be hypoglycemia 😊 !! I think most probably your body is getting better at producing the glucose from fat ?? Well i am curious too !! I am not a doctor or a nutritionnist so i don't know I don't think that look bad since the insuline isn't triggered ?? I want to know too what a metabolically educated person would say about that!

I once thought kefir tasted weird. Now I like it. A couple of good swigs of natural flavour every morning at breakfast is great!
