We were there watching on sunday from sheldon park,very rough. Saw this one approach and go round again and land on second attempt. It was a great afternoon watching.

Sometimes, depending on the weather, cross winds or shortness of runway, a hard landing is necessary

The Tui was my first ever childhood favorite airline and still my favorite till this day

We used to live a few miles to the south-east of BHX, almost under the approach to Runway 33. In other words, the single runway is almost at right-angles to the prevailing wind. Crosswind landings are a fact of life there.

That sink rate took the pilot by surprise, first touch was well before the landing zone, the sharp pull back saved the u/c, wind shear is not pleasant when it’s happening to you right there, right then

Surprising that the tyres don't explode during a landing like that with the whole weight of the a/c on just one set of wheels. Great catch, thanks for posting.
