@drrohinpatil - To set your body clock for a 12-hour cycle, such as maintaining 12 hours between breakfast and dinner, don’t you think a two-meal-a-day approach is more suitable? I’ve been on a two-meal-a-day routine for nearly 15 years, and I am more active and healthy than my peers.

Anyone watching this please also do your own research. Steel cut oats have lower GI load and due to their high fiber content oats can help keep us feeling full for significant time. Overnight oats mixed with nuts, seeds, greek yogurt can be a nutrition dense food that is also good for the gut. If someone wants to further reduce their sugar spike, apple cider vinegar half hour before food has been seen to reduce such spikes significantly. In the end please remember that carbs are not the enemy. We need carbs to feel satiated. If you are planning to have only Nuts followed by whole fruits as breakfast, please check out the impact of oxalates in nuts and the requirement of minimum amount of calcium in your diet. There are research papers on that. Also do remember that a handful of nuts will not have enough fiber to reduce the sugar spike that will occur when you have the whole fruit. Additionally there are also research papers on how the body is impacted when you consume coffee as the first meal of your day. In the end, please focus both on managing your sugar spike and also your gut health.

@@ChandraPrakash-of4wk I have been taking overnight oats as my breakfast since the past two years. As per my knowledge, Steel cut oats have the lowest GI among the various variations of consumable oats that is available in the market. However overnight steel cut oats can be a lot chewy. So I soak my batch for at least 24 hours before I consume them. If you are having instant oats as Breakfast, please know that they have comparatively higher GI and may cause sugar spike if you are consuming it as your first meal of the day.

Literally E ERY SINGLE DOCTOR and nutritionist I have referred to has told me oats are one of the BEST breakfast meals. I have my oats mixed with, beans, carrots, soya chunks, moon daal and dahi. The best breakfast meal ever for me. Get regular blood tests done. Nothing has spiked or lowered because of it.

Worse food for breakfast 1. Refines cereals 2. Sugary coffee and tea 3. Oats 4. pancake 5. Buttered toast 6. Fruit juice & premade smoothie 7. Indian street food ( kachori, samosa , jalebi , etc..). Good food for breakfast 1. Eggs 2. Moong daal chilla 3. Ghee coffee and nuts 4. Whole fruit ( with nuts) 5. Sourdough bread Thnx me later 😊

Actually most of the oat based breakfast prooducts are highly processed and contains low fibre, so not a healthy choice.

Good video Rohini! 👍🏼 My favourite breakfast is egg omlette with butter toast. Though I don't eat butter and toast anymore. Even a combination of poha, jalebi and samosa 😋 - but I don't eat that either.

Thank you doctor for sharing good information. I make smoothie from overnight soaked almonds, walnuts, resins, watermelon seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dates, figs, oats and we add a banana. Any modifications required?

Suggestion highly needed, In my breakfast I have smoothie off overnight soaked walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, fava beans, chia seeds Oats, cocoa powder, protein powder and creatine. Doing seating job but a lot exercise as well, however not reducing belly fat. Anything wrong in my breakfast?

@@miteshd1165 belly fat just doesn't depend on breakfast. You need to have a proper diet for all 3 meals and get checked for any underlying conditions like thyroid. Also, there's no point having lots of carbs, sugar, processed food and then doing exercises. Check your diet and do a proper physical exam from a good functional medicine doctor.

Sour dough bread and sugarless tea with milk and eggs. I will definitely follow your advice for eating lentils, nuts and protiens for breakfast. Although I eat sugar watchers low glycemic roti also ( Only one ). Great. Thanks. Pl make more such videos. I am subscribing.

Not important to have Oats in the breakfast. I live in US and I skip breakfast to eat this lunch: - 3 eggs scrambled with mushrooms lightly fried in grass-fed butter, with lemon juice squeezed - whole fruits (kiwi, orange, apple) - nuts (brazil nuts, pistachios, almond, and walnuts) - deglet noor dates - pumpkin seeds - avocado - coffee

Morning my first drink is barley water with lemon juice. 2nd, my morning breakfast are fruits like papaya, guava, banana, apple, and dry fruits. 3rd, my lunch first salads, and jawar roti, little rice, veges and fish. 4th, before 6pm I eat salads and nothing else.

Best breakfast for standard health is 3 Plain Parathas made with less oil, Alu ki sabji and 2 pieces of brinjal fry. End with 2 rasgullas and one Sondesh!

Q. You said there should less carbohydrates in breakfast, then what about diet routine in which one only takes fruits in breakfast (or till 12:00 pm), it is all carbohydrates and no protein or fats?

I take breakfast at morning 6 o'clock.. I used to eat Banana,Oats,Kaju, Kismish,Honey,Peanut butter....which is my pre workout meal...Then i went to gym... In my Post workout I eat Eggs,Daal, Lots of fruits!!!! My question: Is the Oats that i took in Pre workout meal dangerous...?? Masala chai, (Ginger, ajwain, fennel seeds, cloves) with 200ml toned milk and 4 grams sugar is the first thing in morning, then I get freshen up, then 10gm soaked almonds, 15gm soaked raisin and then 300ml toned milk with 2-3 pieces of parle g or 1 rusk. Not that great but yeah, I am trying to

I and my family eat wheat chapati with tea every morning except holidays in BF since childhood. We like it and feel nice after having it. My weight is as per BMI. What are the disadvantages of having it. Shall I stop taking my regular BF Please explain.

Oats can cause gas and bloating. To minimize side effects, start with a low dose and increase slowly to the desired amount. Your body will get used to oat bran and the side effects will likely go away. Overnight soaked oats with a plant based milk and nuts is still good

everyone says tea is not good option but my grandmother in law who is 85 years above is drinking tea from childhood and havent found any issues with the health part. Similarly there is an old lady in my area who is above 80 but smokes two bundle of cigar daily still healthy and active without any medication problem, How?

Good talk about breakfast foods. Oats are a western introduced breakfast item. So is bread. Original Indian breakfast grains were always jowar and bajra. Rice on the coast. Because of westernised education as well as eating habbits we end up eating the wrong food. Agreed oats are very good to maintain cholesterol levels, they are not Indigenous to Indian farming and digestive system. Millets and pulses are far far better than oats and bread or wheat parathas. The nutritive value charts will show everyone the difference. Rice 'kaanji' with coconut pieces and or fish used to be the breakfast of people on the coast . Interior of the country it was always bajra, jowar, ragi or mixed pulses. Eggs as she said are excellent but have become more prevalent in recent years even among non vegetarians of India. Ayurveda recommends indian grown produce for us. That is the reason the Millet is being given importance and people are urged to consume them. All over the world it has been said that Indian population has the highest number of diabetics. The reason is Wheat in its refined form. The west blames it on Rice which is completely false as their Wheat Boards promote wheat because there is a surplus in their countries and need to export it. Cereal ads are heavily funded by Western countries. They also contain a lot of refined sugar. Awareness about advertising and our Indigenous foods is very important.

Eww.. Bruh why coconut milk. Yuck.. Just drink low fat Cow or Buffalo milk Coffee/Tea. Remove the malai after boiling the milk and you are good. And little sugar is okay. Sugar is bad only in excess. This Fear-mongering needs to stop. There is no black or white in food. No food is bad for you. Only the quantity matters.

I don't think we will find sourdough bread every where in India. But yeah it's healthy though. I agreed on all of your points except Oats. An early dose of fiber will keep you filled for rest of the day without any hunger pangs especially for active individuals who typically don't have a desk job.

1. I eat sourdough bread toast with cheese and halapeno sliced in melted cheese + black pepper. Sometime add tomatoes. 2. Oats with blueberry and strawberry. 3 weeknds egg white omlette and beet root chapati roll. I do get gas due to eggs so only on weekends😊 Left cereals decades back. I STRONGLY disagree Oats is a bad option. From US am Indian enjoy food from all countries but breakfast above combination. 4 nuts during day as snack typically during leaving work evening onto drive back for 1.5 hrs back home.
