I had a dog, my soul dog, who had a cancer that is fatal and short term. She was given 3 months to live without chemo and 6 with. I decided to NOT do chemo as I did not think it was fair and I took her home after surgery to remove her spleen which had burst from the massive tumour she had. I gave her natural remedies, including tumeric for the rest of her life. She lived another 4 years and I finally let her go after her bladder tore from a fall she had acting like a puppy, jumping over another dog off the bed, and it broke my heart in pieces to let her go, but I had promised her over and over that I would never let her have pain again. She was 16 when she left. She had lived those 4 years a happy, pain free dog, with no side effects. It slowed that cancer right down. She had many tumours when we did her last operation and let her go, but they had taken long to grow. My faith in natural medicine is high. We should never forget that most medicine is made from plants one way or another.

In ancient times they used it to treat snake bites. Cuman and coriander are also common spices in Indian cooking. They also contain a high level of antioxidants and medicinal compounds. Black pepper should also be taken to help for better absorption. Black pepper also has anti bacterial properties and anti inflammatory properties. Ginger is another and garlic and onions. These foods are medicine. I am a former pharma employee studying natural medicine systems from different cultures as well as a western perspective.

Vit D and are turmeric can be very helpful but fasting is the very best anti-viral and immune system booster around! Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time and telomeres are lengthened, which also helps with lung fibrosis. Fasting increases nitric oxide. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there. Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles as much as 1/3 of all immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire immune system. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Fasting increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors! Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. Weight loss from fasting only loses10% lean tissue and 90% fat compared to the typical 25% lean tissue and 75% fat lost when calorically restricting for long periods. The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast, though if the amount is tiny you will go back into ketosis very quickly. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many medications are dangerous to take while fasting so you may have to talk to your dr. about discontinuing them during a fast. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasts of several days will not affect short term female fertility and may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone and helps build muscle by increasing insulin sensitivity! The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, your body always runs mainly on fat except for brief periods of very intense exercise. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses. Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which also help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. Ketones also provide an additional energy source during infection, which is critical when trying to fight off a bug. In fact you can have as much as three times the total energy available in your blood when you are in deep ketosis, or even more. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention! When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells. This kills these cells off completely. Senescent cells are responsible for the effects of aging and are the root cause of the development of cancer. If it were possible to destroy them all it would completely stop aging and cancer. That is not possible but fasting can help limit these effects by killing off many of the affected cells and limiting the future effects of aging. Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, helping a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting. Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and under 18 g of carb. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Love your channel, and happy to see your comment here. For me fasting is keeping me healthy, with the bonus perk of having less dishes to wash from eating less meals. 😁Today was a one meal day (23 hr fast) plus coffee with turmeric and other adaptogenic herbs. Oh, and plenty of mineral water. Feeling great!

The best “fast” imo is an 80% raw plant food diet for a short while - no seed oils, no processed foods, whole foods, small amounts of cooked foods like chickpeas, sweet potatoes, plenty of coconut yogurt and raw fruit.

I had flu and was totally miserable for 3 days despite taking medication. Then I decided to make a drink that my mom suggested which involved boiling turmeric., whole black pepper, sage, cloves and ginger in a large pot of water for few hours and then drank few glasses throughout the day with a spoon of honey. I was back to work the next day!!!

I’ve been taking a curcumin supplement for the last few years to help with symptoms of ADD of all things. Wouldn’t be surprised that it help me get through COVID twice, smell came back in 9 days. Other supplements to look into would be N-Acetylcysteine , Quercitin, Bromelain and Natokinase all of which have shown to be useful in fighting the effects of a certain viral illness.

I'm a huge fan of curcumin and I have advocated for using curcumin for many of my patients. Interestingly, curcumin has been shown in several RCTs to be as efficacious as NSAIDs in alleviating pain without the associated short and long-term risks often seen with NSAID use. Great video!

First: Immense thanks and appreciation to you, Dr. Dhand. Personal: I was having rather painful knee problems, a relapse actually in late 2021 brought on by osteoarthritis. Somehow I got tipped off about turmeric's strong anti-inflammatory powers, probably via a YT video headline. After some more research, I ordered a supplement with turmeric, compounded with black pepper (piperine is the active ingredient that helps the body absorb curcumin). Within 7-10 days, the pain was noticeably reduced. By the end of the month in November, 2021, it was gone. I was also doing long walks for exercise. So, 16 months later, taking 500 mg turmeric capsules daily, no relapses. Incredible! Bonus: All the other health benefits of turmeric! And no pharmaceuticals!!!

What you are doing really does wonders. I hope others read what you have done and take a lesson from it. I had awful debilitating pain from spinal misalignment. The pain was so bad I was using a walker in the morning and a cane during the day. Was going to chiropractor which made it really bad. Ended up going for cortisone back injections. Started on an organic turmeric with piperine tablet once a day. The pain is gone after 1 yr. I haven't had a back injection for over 1 yr. I can walk around as soon as I wake up. I had knee problems too and I have forgotten they were even a problem. Foot bones hurt too, not any more. I do have soft tissue heel pain that started bothering me the beginning of the year. I do have Vietnamese cinnamon in my coffee every morning, cook only with olive oil all my life, drink only water through the day, take VD, zinc, fish oil, ashwaganda, multivitamin and eat 2 eggs every day. Avoid sugar and absolutely no sweetners. So far, doing good for 63 carrying around some extra pounds. Wishing continued success with your lifestyle!

@@cynthiakeller5954 That's fantastic news! Natural healing is a wonder. A small thing I did not mention. I also started doing some mild knee bend and foot stretch exercises while leaning on the kitchen counter. I call it my kitchen calisthenics. This really helped me to tone up for stair climbing and eventually eliminated even the tiniest knee pain.

I have an older pet Rhode Island Red hen. 16 months ago. She caught pneumonia. I started bringing her in the house at night or when it was cold outside. Dosed her with 4 treatments of garlic/ginger/turmeric. In one week, she was cured. Shes around 8 years, lays an egg for me, every other day. Her shells are nice and solid.

I have been taking a turmeric supplement regularly for 6-7 years. The supplement also has black pepper extract in it. I started taking it to help with recovery after running. I noticed quickly that I was having much less muscle soreness between runs and my joints were less likely to be sore or stiff. As I learned more about the overall anti inflammatory benefits of turmeric I started taking it basically daily. But I had no idea that turmeric was also anti viral! Thanks for making this video. I’m looking to your next video about suggested uses and dose of turmeric.

Do you take Vitamin D and K2, I understand it helps in a different way to the anti inflammatory Tumeric. I'd suggest you also investigate taking Curcumin instead of Tumeric as it is the effective compound. I also understand that Tumeric may limit Iron absorbtion whereas Curcumin doesn't. Hope it helps you and best wishes from Australia.

@@bluemotion4575 almost every recipe includes turmeric or turmeric powder. Yes a pinch is added to milk and boiled and black pepper is added to that as well. It can be added to stews and soups as well. Not sure how it would taste with just water but it would be fine when salt and some stock are added to make a clear soup. Also a small ball of pasted raw turmeric is swallowed on an empty stomach by lots of folks - not sure that suits everyone.

Several years ago my elderly mother developed tendonitis in her arms. It was so painful and debilitating that she couldn’t undo the lids on her milk cartons etc. Her GP just prescribed painkillers, so I searched online to see if I do find something else that could help her. I soon came across sites extolling the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric and black pepper. Thousands of people recounting what an amazingly beneficial effect turmeric and black pepper had had on easing the symptoms of their arthritis etc. as well as boosting their immune systems. I bought some for my mum and within a few weeks her tendonitis was completely gone. Since that time my whole family and several of our friends have taken it, and we’ve barely had more than a slight cold between us.
