Hi @drtrishleigh I've been watching your videos re: porn addiction for a while, and they are amazingly helpful. But I've never seen anything on PSSD . I was hypersexual all my adult life, with sex and porn use. This year I went on SSRI's, and because of the lowered libido, I was able to quit porn etc. however, my libido, and genital function/sensation have never returned, months after quitting the meds. It is really hard to know whether this is PSSD or an extreme lack of arousal because of reduced stimulus. Do you know much about PSSD? Do you see how it may be related to quitting porn, as more and more people experience porn addiction, and use SSRI's to cope with the consequences. Is it a video topic you are willing to explore? I think there is a growing audience for it, with no reliable medical info on the relation between the two issues.

Is there anything particular about prolonged physical pain? ie what is its long term role as a conditioning stimulus, will brain activity take on a phasic or sharply windowed character, and so on. And also how does this factor into a sort "decay chain" with gradual exhaustion or failure of compensatory mechanisms, the physical and cognitive ability to maintain meticulousness, etc. And what kind of "residue" is left by this functional decay process. I'm talking more on the scale of years to a decade. Obviously pain and witholding of reward are good conditioning mechanisms, and eventually the organism can be tricked into reframing reduced torment as reward. I call this the oasis mirage, an island of stability amidst an endless sea of pain. This forms the inner labyrinth surrounded by halls of mirrors. What I wonder though is what is the brain doing in these more constricted loops with abnormal response to most stimuli. Is it phasic, dipping into a sort of trance of self hypnosis state then back to high beta. Does it split, some brain regions remain "asleep" while others stay in the agitated state. I suppose I'm trying to retrace my steps. If pain can be reduced with meticulousness, visualization, controlling attention, "autoanalgesia", then it seems like this itself woudl be a form of neurofeedback coming from that sensory channel. And it would condition it to rapidly switch into and maintain a narrow band of activity for prolonged periods. I suppose it's just a matter of the metric, which could be something as simple as muscle tightness in the cervical spine, which controls torsion of the brainstem and compression of the cranial nerves. So they'd have to be forcibly relaxed either by external means, or prevented from activating via self hypnosis. Doing or thinking the wrong thing, would bring the pain back. Then all kinds of autonomic and digestive issues, etc, self maintaining loop. That's how it happened. Beyond suspension of disbelief, which may be a good thing. Back in the day I was able to split the mind and turn everything to some sort of use, see positive and negative in every frame, and then go apart from them. Maintaining meaning and direction is required. I suppose it was built on sand, he structure wasn't weak, but the terrain wasn't so constant as it appeared. That's the other thing. Most of our lives are apparently an illusion. I have come to generally believe things need to be done at the proper and ordained time. Our lives are scripted and run on a hard biological clock, most people are just engaged enough that their brain confabulates a narrative about how they came to feel and be such and such a way. In reality it happens regardless, because it's biologically scripted. As you age your brain goes through hardwired changes. Probably organized in 7 year cycles. One begins to see the body and mind as even more of a prison. You're dragged along one way or another, whether you completed the prior stages properly or not. Like you're supposed to be a real person without all the things that comprise a real person. I guess I used to just find a way to roll with it. Weave it into a broader allegory. Blurs the line with self deception, though I tend to do this via the reductive method of internal blindness, rather tha distortive active method of generating and outputting falsehoods. Which is inherently weaker. Avoidant, prey mentality, in some sense. I suppose I'll just have to do the measurements myself, though I think the finer grained data on how it actually happens are lost to time. I am the one I've been looking for.

@@Streetfightingman420 I'm not sure what aspect you're asking about. A prior version of me was net superior, I'm considering whether the EEG is a good indirect means of piecing it together. How and why it all progressed and unfolded as it did, and why everything is way harder now. Obviously 20 is not 30, but something by some means has been... locked in perhaps, patterned passively. Or a component that used to be active is now diminished or absent. Thus preventing the change of state and willpower required.

Hello. Still here. Still struggling. I saw your video today . I'm still watching it. I paused it. Doc seeing you gives me a dopamine bump..not sure if thats right? Have a wonderful day and stay safe. I am stopping all 20 mg cialis until I get into a relationship. I will just stick to the 5..works perfectly for enlarged prostate gland. I'm chronically lonely and chronically going without women . Perfect setup for porn addiction. We have the gene for autoimmune disease I think...my daughter had everything tested in her.
