Im 56 and took Mounjaro for only 2 months in 2022 to lose 20 stubborn menopause lbs. I have lifted weights and worked out consistent for 35 plus years. I lost 25 lbs in 2 months, no side effects, reset my “set point” and have kept it off for a year and 1/2. You HAVE to increase your protein intake and exercise WHILE TAKING THESE SHOTS. I'm only half way through the podcast. Had to comment. I'm using compounded Tirzepatide. I am 56, super obese most of my life. I've had VSG in 2015, gained back all that I lost. I call myself a food addict. This medicine is literally saving my life. My starting weight on this medication was 392 pounds! I could barely stand, walk or do much of anything. I started 7/1/23. I am down 50 pounds! Tirz is saving my life. My "food noise" is so quiet now, it's the most amazing thing to not have food in your thoughts all the time. I don't plan on going off of it, just got the mental thing! Hopefully I can continue to get it compounded. But I love compound. I am in control. I can go slow on titrating up. Its an amazing thing. I eat correctly. Not exercising yet, I plan on it soon.

I presently down 7 prescription medications (2 are related to anxiety and the rest are all part of 'metebolic' syndrome). Off Ozempic now for over 4 months and still lost 25 pounds (total lost is over 30% - 223.5 lbs down to 149.6 lbs) due to new nutrtional plan and physical exericse plan.

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you for finally telling the truth about this drug. I started Oz April 2022 and I'm down 120lbs. I worked the drug from day one instead of letting the drug do all the work. The other thing I've done which I'm absolutely positive is why I've been able to keep it off with no trouble is lower the does every 30 lbs for a few months and used food and exercise to keep my weight stable. Then I increased my dose for the next 30 or so lbs. It has worked wonders for me. Without this drug I'm positive I'd be dead. I'm 60 and suffer a plethora of auto immune diseases so I've never exercised. Now I do water aerobics, rebound and use the TRX strength system daily. All the best to everyone who's here looking for the truth. We got this!!

I just gave up and started just binging😢 I kept asking my Drs to please help.I ended up in ICU for 4 days. I needed this weight gone. I was dying. I finally got a male PA. He asked me why I wasn't on meds to loose this weight. I explained to him, Dr said no and it was to expensive. He said he will prescribe it and knew where to get it safely for $200 a month. This PA saved my life. I have lost 90lbs. Only time it makes me sick is when I consume to much sugar. I had a great experience on Ozempic. I'm a 36 year old woman who went on it for weight loss, and I'm off of it now. Lost 20 lbs I just couldn't lose even with all the intense exercises and dieting for 5 years. I promise you.....for 5 years I truly tried, and I gained lots of muscle tissue through weight lifting, but still held onto the 20 lbs of fat. I just could not shed it. I also am no rookie to strength training and dieting and for some reason I just could not slim down. And this stuff helped me. For me, it was a God sent. I had minimal side effects, still had an appetite, ate good food, kept it down. The only downside was that I felt cold more often and at the beginning of a dose increase I felt more fatigued and a bit more nausea (not bad at all) the first few days. A week into the dose change, it all tapers off. That's about it....

@slavi71917 ай бұрын
@kirshens it has only been 2 months. So, nothing yet. I am watching what I eat, though, and I do intermittent fasting from 7 pm until noon or 1 pm the following day. I also want to be very transparent and just mention that I do weight train (intensely) at least 3 times a week also. And I plan on losing another 15 lbs or so, and I'm just taking a 3 month break before I go back onto the medication. I will probably go back on it in July. After that, I plan to go off of it as I will be at my ideal weight.

@slavi71917 ай бұрын
@dixiedaye8851 about a year and a half, but I went off of it about twice during that time. Once was off of it for about 3 months, and then the 2nd time, I went off of it for about 2 months. I only lost like 20 lbs in that entire year and a half time. My point is that it didn't kill my appetite completely like it does for some. I still ate. It's just that I got satiated quicker than before. But I could still finish meals. It wasn't like I took one bite, and I was done, like how some people say they are when they're on it.

I’m 61 and have been taking Ozempic for 6 months and have lost 50 lbs. I m type 2 diabetic, obese, high blood pressure for years, and have a lot of blockage in one of my arteries. I am supposed to see my cardiologist next week about it. I was told Ozempic won’t decrease my blockage but that it keeps it from getting any worse, which was the reason my insurance covers it. But it still costs me about $280 a month taking 1 mg weekly. I’ve been on 1 mg for about 2-3 months and really hope to stay there since it costs so much and I prefer not increasing it. It still keeps my appetite in check. I have given up alcohol, breads, rice, potatos, greasy or fried foods, processed foods and sugar. I’m very careful with my sugar and unhealthy carbs intake. My numbers are very good now and I feel it has helped me to get back to seeing and wanting good Whole Foods and resist the bad foods because the food noise is gone now. I still need to lose a good 50 pounds or slightly more maybe. I think it’s not right that we have to feel ashamed taking this medicine. Once you have lost some weight, people start asking how and it’s like you finally feel okay getting your picture taken with family but then you know people are going to see you have changed and start their opinions, which I don’t want to hear right now. Sometimes you have to be your own doctor and make choices best for you, but I definitely think you should be supervised by a doctor the whole way and get your blood work done during it.

I do find it difficult to eat beef and have had to learn what my stomach can handle. Some might handle it okand I try to eat a little once in a great while because I know I should. I eat a lot of chicken and seafood and pork, and nuts and also found a good protein shake for breakfast because in the morning I am nauseous and can’t eat but can handle the shake and help get my protein up. Eggs and nuts are great too so I’ve learned what my stomach handles and at first I was getting so nauseous and even vomiting because Iwas still not eating what I should on this medicine and it took me a bit to really learn about all the hidden sugars and carbs in some of the things I was eating.

I can’t eat greasy foods. Even beef can be too greasy and I only eat a little sometimes. If I eat too much, I have digestion problems. You are better having smaller meals that are easy on your stomach. I had to eliminate some things that I used to be able to eat but now can’t. I have some things that are my go to that I keep handy. I always have a container of homemade chicken salad on hand and can eat that on a flourless low carb bread I like. I have some strawberries with it. I keep salads, eggs, nuts on hand. Sometimes even baked chicken with the skin on can upset my stomach, sometimes not. Seafood helps. Find the things you like that work for you and keep them in your fridge.

I have also been doing all of the lifestyle suggestions you've mention in this podcast and while those things help I have found that going off of the semiglutide has not worked in terms of keeping the scale at my goal. I also lost muscle and saggy skin remains. I have to also add that I now work out 5 to 6 days a week doing cardio and resistance, including a very low carbohydrate, prioritized protein and fat diet. This is one of the best videos I have seen. So much great information that I haven't heard before. I have been on Ozempic for about a year (with no support), I have only lost 2kg in that time. It has lessened my Hba1c which is brilliant but very annoying to have not lost weight. I know I am insulin resisitant and have been trying to do research on what I can do to help. I actually did allergy/intolerance and sensitive testing and found out I have around 50 food (mostly vegetable) intolerances etc. This has surely caused inflammation. As I get these foods out of my diet, I hope the weight loss will kick in. Thank you for what you do, new subscriber here and I am looking forward to binging on your videos. 👍

I was motivated by my sleep specialist to lose weight because I have obstructive sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome. Thanks to tirzepatide I lost 35lb so far with more to go. My OSA has dramatically improved. But what else is amazing is my blood labs came back normal for the first time in my life ! Not only that … my primary care doctor took me off all my bp meds which were at the max dosage. I increased my protein and also started lifting weights so I wouldn’t lose muscle ! Also saw a dietician and improved my diet. These drugs definitely worsen RLS and initially made me very tired. I considered stopping the tirzepatide bc of that but glad i persevered bc that went away eventually

Maybe it’s because you’re strength training that you don’t see weight loss on the scale, but you are obviously losing fat if you’ve lost 10 cm around the waist. Muscle is denser than fat, therefore it weighs more than fat at the same size 😊. Also if you are interested in making money whilst at home with your new born, let me know and I can put you in the right direction 😊

I started Mounjaro in November 2023 with the starting dose of 2.5 and found it was giving me anxiety. I stopped and restarted after 4 weeks to make sure it was out of my system and started on a .5 and gradually increased without any side effects. I felt my system was very sensitive and gradually introducing into my system was what I intuitively felt was best for me. Unfortunately with the shortages in Australia I couldnt get it so I started on compounded Semaglutide on the lowest dose. I have increased my protien intake and resumed weight training and have now lost 10 kilos and I am happy with the slower weight loss. Due to menopause, bouts of anxiety and giving up smoking I put on 25kgs. Now the Australian goverment is banning compounding from October 2024 and I am unable to be prescribed Ozempic because I am not diabetic so hopefully Mounjaro will be available. I was so glad to find you as you confirmed what I felt.

I’m a functional medicine provider and am absolutely setting up my practice to offer peptide therapy to my patients. Literally 100% of them could benefit from this treatment AS A PART OF a whole-person approach. I don’t understand why my functional medicine peers are so oppositional unless they’re making a lot of money off their own branded supplements, which is a real problem in the functional health community. I can’t control the price of the peptides but I do my best to keep all treatment plans as affordable as possible (by not marking up or upselling, and by offering a sliding scale) since insurance doesn’t pay me.

Hi, I am a fit active 62 male. 5’10 165 lb with type 2 diabetes. I don’t need to lose weight. I tried Rybelsus lowest dose and the nausia was so pronounced I had to take an anti-nausia medication. The stomach cramps were unpleasant and frequent diarrea was hard to live with. Eventually I got used to it, lost 5 lbs then after a few months those symptoms suddenly returned and my endocrinologist took me off it. My A1C shot back up to 8 so today I am starting Mounjaro 2.5. I am hopeful I can tolerate the new gen better!

I worked extremely hard to get rid of weight when off medication, but did pretty well controlling glucose. I have Medicare with a Part D drug plan. My insurance covers Mounjaro with pre-authorization. Doctor turned it over to Methodist Hospital's Specialty Pharmacy who was able to get the PA. I am now on the med. average glucose is running mid-80s, and have lost 14# in 3 weeks. My diet is very low carb, higher protein, moderate fat.

I found you via a FB group I’m on for Ozempic for Diabetics. What a great episode. I’ve been on Ozempic for five months now. Sadly I’m very obese. I did lose nearly 40 pounds in my 2 1/2 months but in the last three months I’ve stopped losing completely despite major dietary changes, maximizing my protein intake, daily exercise including resistance training. My “smart” scale does say that my body fat percentage has dropped by 6 percentage points, and my muscle mass increased by 8 pounds. So all good. But when you weigh 250 pounds you want to see scale numbers too!

I plan to start working in a weight training routine this week. Do you have any recommendations for a routine?

I'm surprised I watched the whole hour, but it was such a good and interesting video with amazing information! I agree with your theory about big pharma companies spreading rumors and not wanting people to have these peptides because then they will lose money when "sick" people no longer need all those meds. On the same note, it doesn't make sense that insurance companies are refusing to approve these "drugs" for use when it would ultimately save these companies money. Last thought, these peptides have been around for many years, yet some people are acting like these are new and untested "drugs". None of it makes sense. I say make these peptides available for all, even those that find themselves getting fluffy.

I’ve been tossing up asking my Dr about trying this as I have many physical restrictions that make it hard to exercise and metabolic problems as well.
