Drugs and Spiritual Warfare

Psychedelics were connected to rituals to contact spirits in the ancient world. This is why there are prohibitions against hard drugs in the Torah and the New Testament. We're not talking about taking aspirin. Check this out!

I'm on the fence with mushrooms. I use them approximately once a year or so to help with anxiety, depression or panic attacks. It's pretty amazing how a moderate dose seems to reset your brain from the spiral it was in. But I've never been contacted by any beings. Basically you just feel extremely connected to the people and natural world around you, and things look a little funny. If i felt a supernatural element to it i would stop using them immediately. Hopefully I'll never again be in a place mentally where i need that kind of intervention. Mostly i use clean diet and exercise. Covid stressed me out intensely though bc i was home alone all day while my husband worked nonstop. I was extremely lonely & it brought on some extreme panic attacks.

I used to have panic attacks and depression, too. Which led to a psychotic break. I was a Christian, and knew I shouldn't be that way. So, I learned to believe the Word of God, and I don't have them any more. He didn't give us a spirit of "fear", but, a spirit of love, "power", and a "sound mind". I believe God loves me. I started believing I was protected, because He's my Father. I would pray, and be comforted. There are still times when I fear harm for my children, and grandchildren. But, I know God loves me, and because I love Him, and He loves me, He loves my children, and grandchildren, too. And will work on my behalf to keep them safe (actually, He loves them as much as He loves me anyway). And, you are never, ever, alone if you are born again, you have a companion in you that's with you when no one is there, He's the Holy Spirit. Talk to Him. You may be surprised and you'll hear Him talk back. Let Him lead you in the scriptures to bring you peace. Take control of your mind, by casting out thoughts that are negative, and contradictory, to the Word of God. You have been given POWER over your thinking, use it. When you feel weak, or, spiraling, spend time with Him. Rebuke the enemy, neg. thoughts, and resist the enemy. God gave you authority over all of the enemies lies, amen!! Again I say , use it. Pray in the spirit, and you'll be more confident, and strong in the Lord, and the power of His might (if you pray in tongues, that is). Put on the mind of Christ, and you'll have no problem overcoming fear. All things are possible with God, and He wants you to live in Grace, Peace, and Joy, amen!!!! ........With all my love, Sandy

This makes me wonder, because some medicines have intense side effects which is why you can only get them through prescription. Would something as really strong anesthesia that alters your mind be considered a sin when it's used to avoid feeling the extreme pain of a procedure?

There's a difference between taking an aspirin or an antidepressant as opposed to taking something like DMT or Marijuana.

I'd put cannabis and DMT/mushrooms/LSD into entirely different camps - cannabis isn't normally hallucinogenic. Unless you have schizophrenia. That isn't to say that I think smoking weed is biblically OK, as that would be an argument from silence.

As I have listened to people's stories about their use of psychedelic drugs like mushrooms I have noticed alot of beings trying to contact them in their trips. Makes me think this is the drugs that is referenced in the bible. Alot of weird stuff goes on when we alter our minds and invite things in.

@@godswarrior45 I believe what is being referred to is the forbidden plant knowledge given to man in the book of first Enoch. The only reason scholars give credence to the book of first Enoch is because it is quoted in the book of first peter and James. I believe there may also be some reference to forbidden practices in some of the books of the law like leviticus etc.

When I was hospitalized for a fairly serious surgery I was given a very potent painkiller. It helped with the pain, but it also caused me to hear things that weren't actually there. I had it added to my medical record that I cannot take that drug at all ever again. I didn't *know* it was causing me to hear things, until I was brought home. Then because i still heard the same things, I knew.

I agree except I think it's exactly what some in the medical community are about today. And I'm not of the opinion one has to be intentionally interacting with spirits to be guilty of it.

the New Testament Greek word translated “sorcery” is pharmakeia, which is the source of our English word pharmacy. In Paul’s day, the word primarily meant “dealing in poison” or “drug use” and was applied to divination and spell-casting because sorcerers often used drugs along with their incantations and amulets to conjure occult power.

Is ruled by the elites of our world and is poisonous and has many mind altering drugs. As in all are drugs. To speak down on naturally occurring plants and natural medicines that aren't concoctions. Very blind of him. Especially when these are culturally based vs Pharmaceuticals which are financially based. Have been used to commit many evils on "ethnic" communities and have roots in torture since they tested them on unassuming peoples mainly melanated folks or indigenous peoples. But whatever. I like some of his talks. This I would have loved to speak to him about.

Yeah, marijuana is mind-altering. But CBD is probably OK.

In my unprofessional option, yes, because unlike alcohol as soon as you take the first hit you become high which is an altered state. For myself I have 38 + years sober from both.

I think the focus of this is hallucinogens, and cannabis isn't a hallucinogen (unless you have underlying schizophrenic issues). I wouldn't say that this means smoking weed is ok, because that's an argument from silence.

This Heiser guy really no different than Joel Osteen, clever with words and no Gospel message, so many are lead astray with Fancy talk to draw a person into a bunch of nothing......clouds with no water. Heiser is so much in error on his view of Psalm 82, he tries to answer the "gods/elohim" as non human when Jesus says the "gods/elohim" are human in John 10, Jesus answers this question long before Heiser was even born. Heiser writes a book the unseen realm arguing against Jesus. Osten writes books about prosperity and self gain, People like Hieser or Osteen should not be teaching becasue they do not point a person to Jesus and teach/preach the true Jesus, so many different forms of error within Christianity that people are unaware of. A person never hears of sin either from them two, they just lift themselves up with their own theology and people eat it up.

I recently started listening to his talks. Most are misses and glaringly ignore things maybe I'll look for fuller talks and see. But this video was a miss. I did find the elohim talk of his another miss. Since indeed Christ did say that referred to us. As he was talking to the Israelites which were humans. Unless the implications are the Israelite were gods amongst men. Making the gentiles man.

What Heiser promoted with this whole unseen realm totally argues against Jesus, is what I found Heiser's teaching was totally false, Jesus settles the question of the gods/elohim/divine council in scripture long before Heiser. Before Christ returns and we are getting closer to His return more and more of this kind of false teaching will happen. I'll post Psalm 82/John 10 for you, Jesus was Correct, Heiser was wrong. Jesus is my resource for calling out Heiser. Heiser was wrong on his view of Psalm 82, Heiser NEVER included Jesus, Heiser deceived many with his teaching of the gods/elohim. Jesus holds the answer of the gods/elohim of Psalm 82 in John 10. Israel are the "gods" in Psalm 82, the "gods" are human NOT nonhuman meaning angels/spirit beings. Israel was unique from the pagan nations that surrounded them, Israel had the law of God, 10 commandment, prophets and a Levitical priesthood. Since Israel had the law of God, it put Israel in the position of being "gods," (elohim), because God chose them, Israel was God's chosen people. They were chosen because of Christ. Christ would come into the world through Jacob's descendents (Israel>>>Tribe of Judah) Psalm 82:6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; John 10: 34-35 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)," 1. >>>>"I said, “You are gods” >>>>>ONCE by the God (Father) in Psalm 82. Aspaph is the Author and Psalmist of Psalm 82. Prophets of the Old Testament like Asaph the "word of the Lord" would come to Prophets like Asaph. Prophets were the "Voice" of God. God (Father) would communicate His words through the prophets, God does that here in Psalm 82:6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;">>>>>>>>Israel, Psalm 82 uses the word "all". This clearly is not about a bunch of watchers/super angels of a divine council. The Psalms were written to and for Israel. 2. SECOND time Jesus in John 10: 34 Repeats >>>> ‘I said, “You are gods” >>> Exodus 4:22 You are to say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Israel is my firstborn son." If you know your bible Jacob is Israel and there would be 12 sons borns to Jacob, which make up the 12 tribes of Israel. When a person reads Psalm 82:6 when it mentions "sons" it is referring to the 12 tribes of Israel in the physical world. In reality what a person can get from scripture is that Jesus tells us who the "gods/elohim" are in Psalm 82 when we read John 10 34-35. Jesus is the One who fulfills the words of the prophets from the OT in the NT, that is why Jesus REPEATED the exact words " I said, “You are gods, from Psalm 82 (God/Father) in John 10 (God/Son). The gods/elohim/divine council in Psalm 82 are not disembodied spirits, angelic or nonhuman spirit beings, they are Israel, all of Israel (Jacob's descendents) would be human, which includes judges, elders, rulers, kings, and the common Isrealite citizen.
