Author Meets Critics: Science and Religion in The Genealogical Adam and Eve, by S. Joshua Swamidass
See all videos in this meeting here: • The GAE at The America...
2020 AAR Meeting
Computational biologist S. Joshua Swamidass' book, The Genealogical Adam and Eve, has aroused considerable dialogue between science and different religious points of view. His proposes a late Adam and Eve (ca. 10kya) created de novo by God, ancestors of us all, a view which he claims is fully compatible with contemporary evolutionary biology. This work raises questions about the limits of science, the dialogue between religion and science, and interdisciplinary questions about the meaning of "human" that matter to both secular and religious scholars alike.
Author:
S. Joshua Swamidass, Washington University, Saint Louis.
Panelists:
Michael Heiser, Awakening School of Theology, Jacksonville, Florida
Kenneth R. Miller, Brown University
Paul Louis Metzger, Multnomah University & Seminary

Love me some Heiser and Craig. Craig is not being rude even a little bit: as chair it’s his job to keep people close to the agreed time limit; he quickly/discreetly interjects to let Heiser know time is short, and Heiser politely says he’s almost done, then quickly wraps up. Professional and courteous by both thinkers. I appreciate their hard work and open mindedness!

I can’t disagree with anything Heiser says bc his conclusions are based of scripture and when it’s not clear, he holds a point of view but admits it as a theory not a truth. There’s such a beauty in explaining something so thoroughly and admit the only conclusion is a theory. It makes his more sold conclusions stronger. Love his logical mind

Why do people assume Abel was a bachelor? Or that he and Cain were the only siblings alive at the time of the murder? Very strange assumptions indeed.

@@JemRau Probably a bachelor though but I'm open for additional evidence. But this is also something that folks can "WHAT IF" to death, lol! If he had 100 children it still doesn't effect in any way the efficiency of the death of Christ to atone for sins! But I will agree there is no evidence that says Cain and Abel were the only two siblings alive at the time especially when we have all those references to "sons and daughters" born to men. I'm seeing the Spirit at work here making a distinction among people in developing the narrative as the interaction between Cain and his brother was a significant event. Abel could also have been a newlywed but without offspring but again I believe that would be highly unlikely because of the mandate to be fruitful. Those early people were fruitful for certain!

How would people half way across the world be informed about what Cain did to his brother or even care if it did not affect them in any way? The only true answer is that Cain was afraid of someone from his inner circle who would be told of the incident and want to take vengeance on him.

What Believers need to know it that Luke Chapter 3 not only traces Jesus' lineage back to a literal Adam, the father of death to us all (Romans 5:12-17), but to Christ the SECOND Adam, or father of a race (Isaiah 8:18) destined for unimaginable glory. Your literal salvation depends upon literal events recorded in Genesis. Your foundation is secure! "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes." 2 Timothy 2:23

A pre-adamic man would necessitate men created out of fellowship with God, as experiencing the effects of the fall, but having done nothing wrong. If being put out of Eden is a punishment analogous with death and a precursor to death, why would God create people in this condition? And if you believe God didn't purposely create man, what are we talking about anyway?
@ramblincapuchin9075
@ramblincapuchin9075 3 жыл бұрын
It kind of sounds like you are saying that creatures native to the earth should be considered innocent And in another part that God always knew that adamic man would be punished and it was poor judgment on his part to create a damned vessel The scenario seems paradoxical until you recognize the nature of the human project. "Come let us make [representatives] in our image and in our likeness. Let him have _dominion_ " The moment that 'human' is established, he is subject to his representation. If we are to believe that there are mortal creatures and supernatural beings who can observe and recognize the affects of human dominion, then his role must be perfect Enter sin into the equation. In missing the mark of perfection, the errant behavior demands death. We're talking about a creation project that lasted at least as long as adam could be educated by elohim They were told to learn of nature through the fruits and adam had been introduced to ALL of creation in order to give them names. We're not talking about a single day event, and it has been established that God had a steady relationship with adam- walking with him in the "cool of the day" In theory, this kind of agency would have given enough time adam time to interpret the bounds of his form and anything within it which has negative feedback. Enough time to meditate on the forbidden fruit, to walk near it, and in eve's case, to lust after it The whole purpose of adam was to terraform the earth in ways that are evident of God's own dominion. Like a public works project in barren territory. The birds of the air and the fish of the sea could observe and bear witness throughout this process; i.e. creatures that do NOT have the same potential to manipulate the immediate environment participated cohabitation with adam. This includes preadamic creatures who we in this era identify as simian You have to remember that in this narrative, human or beast was not the only agency that held office in the established world. In addition to that, human nature was not established as to be recognizable Imagine that God had man in the making (whose form and function only understood by HIS mind) while the host of heaven had access to and awareness of the mannerisms and forms that other created beings possesed. One of those was a snake, why stop there? God knew that man would fall victim to corruption and chaos. He wanted an extended family that would multiply, presumably he also had a plan for man to achieve this the right way. Copulation among most creatures requires seduction, which hints at a bit of manipulation. God gave us reproductive organs, but very well could have made beings asexual (angels). If he knew that there would be strife and infighting among us along reproductive lines, he must have had established the reproductive role for good reason

@baralar57
@baralar57 3 жыл бұрын
I struggled with that verse that states that Eve was the mother of all living. Adam here I think is talking about all that are spiritually alive. Scripture tells the story of the Adamite race not the men created on Day 6. If you are spiritually dead God sees you as dead whether or not your physical body is alive. Revelation 20 proves this among many other scriptures. Rev 20 describes people who were beheaded for their testimony ruling from heaven with Jesus. Their bodies are dead but they are alive. Then it goes on to say "the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished." The men created on Day 6 were spiritually dead. That is how God and Adam viewed them. I believe Adam was created by Yahweh to preach salvation to the men of Day 6 who had been tampered with genetically by fallen angels. Adam knew what it felt like to be spiritually alive. That is the difference between Adam and the men of Day 6. BUT Adam failed. That is why Jesus the last Adam came to do the work that Adam failed at. Adam knew that the men of Day 6 were hopelessly dead spiritually. From his point of view, anyone spiritually alive would have to come from his genetic line.

What Heiser is doing though is to make his case iron-clad, so there is no possible way to wiggle around linguistic or mythological explanations to avoid Dr Heisers conclusions. So while someone could possibly respond to your critique by saying "It depends on what the text means there. Is it referring to a meta "adam and eve" as in the race of mankind (a legitimate usage of the word Adam to be sure, and so by extension Eve.) or as the mythological individuals in a first creation pair?", that critique cant be raised against Heiser because he shut that door hard by appealing to clear counterfactuals both linguistically and mythologically.

All of these theories latch onto indications of other people, bit ignore the clear biblical objections because they fundamentally don't believe the long lifespans. All these issues are resolved by long lifespans because of how much time they all had. Cain could gave lived 2 of Seths generations before he got married... and we never see how many kids Adam had.

Dr Heiser, you are a learned theologian and an eloquent speaker. I have never heard the argument presented from the point of view of the verses in Romans that you use. There are many verses in Scripture that can be used to either support or refute the notion of pre-Adamite humans. When one removes the preconditioning of a lifetime, one will begin to see that the preponderance of scripture supports the idea of pre-Adamite humans. Adam was genetically everything that the men created on Day 6 were. However Adam had other genetic gifts over and above the men created on Day 6. That is why these two human lines were able to procreate children together. The mixture of these two human lines happened in the remote past. That is why they are no longer distinguishable from each other. The men of Day 6, I believe were created by the Elohim. Adam was formed by Yahweh. I believe Yahweh formed Adam later, to rescue the men of Day 6 who had been tampered with genetically by the Elohim. Certainly the Hebrew words of these verses can support this view.

As far as I know there are two Pre Adamite theories: 1. Gap theory - there is a gap between Gen 1:1 and 1:2 and people were living between this gap. 2. 6th day man theory - people created on day 6 were different from Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden who were created later. People who are into the occult believe Atlantis and Lemuria were real and that's where we get different races from. Check out the idea of "root races". Question is where would you put Atlantis and Lemuria into the Biblical time frame. They could be very well before the time of Adam. The more difficult question would be finding out how did people of Atlantis and Lemuria survive the flood of the Gap theory (if it's true) and Noah's flood.

I agree that using those passages listed alone, there's no fatal or supporting coup de gras, but taking more passages in mind, and debunking the supporting ideas rooted in the appearance of immediacy in a narrative where the events if orioles lives listed are brief, but the lifespans are long, renders instead a likely internal resolution of this false apparent contradiction in the traditional view in light of how much time he had. This is especially notable in light of the fact that he was worried about retaliation, but from who? Other men NOT related to the original Garden couple? This was pre-execution law (covenant of Noah) so why would strangers know or care? Obviously they're not strangers, but future relatives who know who he is. The narrative doesn't give us a time table, but it gives us lifespans with huge chronological space, so assuming his full complaint is meant to exist only the moment he was banished, thus necessitating more people, or him marrying as requiring him to meet these non-adamic humans.

The text(Gen 4:14) quotes Cain saying "this day" for the day he was banished. Cain fears for his life as soon as he was banished .Cain mentions that, as a fugitive someone could kill him. Furthermore even God Himself says "lest anyone" slays Cain. Why would God put a sign on him that very day if there was no immediate danger? Who is "anyone" mentioned by God? Would it be people who Cain would have to wait for to grow up until he could marry? It doesn't make sense. And besides, he was leaving for "the land of Nod". The land of who??? How come "the Land of Nod" had a name already. In that time territories were bearing the name of their owner. Just wondering.

None of their genetics survived apart from Adam's therefore the point is moot having all of Adam's descendants confined by the law of moses, this changes no Biblical truths. Its akin to contemplating your collective navels. It's also like arguing over whether there is a gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. Irrelevant. Choose Christ and live, reject Christ and perish.

"Cain mentions that, as a fugitive someone could kill him." A. Cain feared every other person alive and to be born in his lifetime. Understand that in mercy to Cain God cursed the earth for his deed, and this effected all life on earth and the effect cannot be understated. See Gen 5:29, "out of the ground that the Lord has cursed this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands." This was said centuries after Abel's murder so everyone remembered who was to blame. "Why would God put a sign on him that very day if there was no immediate danger?" A. Should God have waited for the danger to be immanent? That's would have been silly. I suspect you have locks in the absence of the threat of immediate burglary, you have to do discourage the crime, not to address the crime. God protected the life of Cain and the sign was a mercy to Cain, not a punishment, rather an attempt to demonstrate God's persistent mercy and keep man from repeating Cain's sin and spreading it, bringing a greater judgement, which they took as a sign of weakness in God - Gen 4:24. "Would it be people who Cain would have to wait for to grow up until he could marry?" A. Cain already had a wife, in scripture if a man marries he is said to "take a wife" and if he is married already he is said to "know" his wife - Gen 4:17 Cain is said to "know" his wife while living in the land of Nod. Also, think about it logically, who would have given their daughter to marry Cain and become a curse, nobody would have married Cain after his fall. "And besides, he was leaving for "the land of Nod". The land of who??? How come "the Land of Nod" had a name already. A. Nod means "wandering" or "a place Cain wandered" and the land came to be known as Nod after Cain, a "wanderer from the face of god - Gen 4:14 - settled it. We only know that it is "east of Eden. The writer calls it by the name it was known by at the time of the writing. "It doesn't make sense." A. Your confusion doesn't mean that something "doesn't make sense" does it?

Speculation: Here's what we do know from Scripture: There was 1 male and 1 female They had long lifespans They had many children The genetic code of free of many mutations Marriage to close relatives was not yet outlawed until Moses Childbirth was accompanied by pangs to this day Did these other women and men not deal with the consequences for the sin of Adam and Eve? Acts 17:26 says all nations came from one blood or one man So this speculation raises more questions than gives answers. It also raises the question of Jesus' Redemption of mankind if we are not all from one man. What confusion this instills. I can see the Gen 6 referring to spirits, but this seems like a huge leap into no place rooted more in speculation than anything else.

Within each tribal group certain physical characteristics become more desirable and those with the desired characteristics had more opportunity to bred than those with less desirable characteristics until certain characteristics became dominant within each tribal group.

we can solve the problem of Genesis 4 by assuming that Cain and Abel are not the first children of Adam and Eve. Sex and therefore procreation had been commanded by God before the fall. This is also supported from the hermeneutic point of view. The author of genesis dwelt on the children who then have a later evidence.

10 reasons Adam was not the 1st man 1)Mankind was created on the 6th day - Adam was formed(different Hebrew verb) very recently during the ongoing 7th day. 2)Mankind was created male and female - Adam was not. 3)Mankind were commanded to multiply and fill the earth - Adam was alone in the garden. 4)Mankind were told they could eat of the fruit of EVERY tree - Adam most assuredly was NOT. 5)Adam was commanded to tend and GUARD the Garden(the exact Hebrew phrase used to describe the Levites' duties regarding the tabernacle and it's gold objects). How do you guard something if you're the only person on earth? 6)Gen.3:16 - 19 is NOT saying Yahweh is going to change the physical laws of His vast universe because 2 people on a little flyspeck of a planet disobeyed a rule! He is telling them they are going to have to live like the people in the rest of the earth when they are driven from the idyllic garden. 7)Cain found a wife because there were people living in all the surrounding areas. He did not have to marry his own sister. Yahweh is AGAINST incest. He did not establish Mankind out of incest. 8)The Bible does NOT say people used to live longer in general. The members of this miraculously formed Adamic bloodline were extraordinary in their longevity just as the progeny of the rebellious angels were extraordinary in their size and might. 9)Why are there all those 'begats' in Genesis? The one and only reason anyone has ever traced a bloodline is to differentiate it from all the other bloodlines. If everyone were related to Adam no genealogy would be done. You don't trace a family tree if it's the only tree in the forest! 10) Paul likes to compare and contrast Adam and Christ. Both of miraculous origin, both called sons of God, one disobedient one obedient, one fleshly one spiritual, etc. Adam was a type of Christ in that he was not deceived but laid down his life willingly for his bride. Paul calls Adam the first man and Christ the second man or last man IN THESE COMPARISONS. Only an absurdly literal take on these verses would lead you to believe Adam was the first human being on earth! Is it saying Cain was the Messiah because he was the second man? Is it saying Yahshua was the last male human born on planet Earth making Him the last man? Be sensible! The Bible does NOT teach Adam was the progenitor of the human race. It teaches that Adam was the progenitor of Israel - the progenitor of the bloodline that would result in the Messiah!

I see no reason for Cain to assume that eventually he will have more close family who will be born, grow and bear such grudge against him for his current action. I think you have to stretch credence to suppose that there were no other humans and as a biologist I can not see any way not to assume this anyway. Maybe the earth gave forth humans and maybe of those humans God chose to breath true spiritual life (and the possibility of death - not the death and decay Adam and Eve's food underwent) into. Either way, a human had to be the first to sin (consciously disobey God) and each one of us repeats this ever since. The reality of original sin must be assumed regardless how clear or unclear we are about Adam and Eve and other biological humans.

1ST , recognition of the fathers administration, operation and his operatives gives us a clue into his character. His behavior does not change. His signature is that he repeats himself. SO, instead of using the inadequate sources, as the language of men are, lets use what I would call , "CONCEPTIONAL THEOLOGICAL SIGN LANGUAGE". We first have to understand there is a difference between created and formed. That concept is throughout the whole book especially the scriptures [old testament]. As a foundation we have to believe he does not change, there is nothing new under the sun. That's the difference between these writings and any other writings. We can look ahead to see and understand the past. Our savior says, he only does what he saw his father do. Every thing he did was in a sign language that, if understood, proclaimed him to be the Messiah. If you believe, a supernatural birth, in the form of a man, amongst his own kind, to be a shepherd over the congregation. Conceptional theology confirms, ADAM of the garden was from the ADAM of six day creation. Chapter 2, of genesis is in fact the 8th day. The formation of a elected and separated lineage not of a different race but out of man to become shepherds, kings and priest. Chapter 3 , is the necessary , going back for the sheep without a shepherd. There is a lot more to chapter 3 than what we have been taught in organized religion. Chapter 4, is judgement of the seed. Yes, there is more to that too. Chapter 5 , is the culmination of chapters 1,2,3, and 4. Can I say, the two shall be one. Also the genealogical evidence so the father can say , Noah found perfect in his generation. I am going to stop here, I want to thank, Mr. Heiser for his videos, and the opportunity to discuss. Now if I am way off please, be kind .LOL. I am not a trained scholar or theologian. Just searching the scriptures so I can worship in the spirit and in truth. Thank you. Peace.

Seems to me that you’re making the assumption that Cain and Able were Adam’s and Eve’s first and second sons. It doesn’t say that. Where are the girls for future wives? Adam and presumably Eve also lived many hundred years and having been perfect given bodies by God in the beginning, they could have had many sons and daughters who would grow to maturity and pair up and have many sons and daughters of their own. Cain and Abel therefore are a “special case” to teach something new-the story of the first murder.

Genesis 3:20 "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living." This seems to rule out anyone not descended from Eve, other than Adam himself. Is he seriously proposing there was a competitor to Adam, outside the garden (also a descendent of Eve), who was fooling around with Eve, and that situation escaped the notice of scripture? Bizarre.

There obviously were others before Adam and Eve, Genesis 1:26 when God H430 'ĕlôhı̂ym (Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.) made man H120 'âdâm (From H119; ruddy, that is, a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.): - X another, + hypocrite, + common sort, X low, man (mean, of low degree), person.) in their image H6754 tselem (From an unused root meaning to shade; a phantom, that is, (figuratively) illusion, resemblance; hence a representative figure, especially an idol: - image, vain shew.) These humans were NOT created by the LORD God and they did NOT have the breath of life in them as did Adam the only human, until Eve, with a living soul. The other humans made in Genesis 1:26 had no soul and their father is satan John 8:44-45. We have been breeding a mixed race, and this is why we are born with the tree of kowledge good and evil, a twin spirit in opposition with each other, one up and the other down, and when we become born again the downward spirit is turned back up and the 2 become one.

The way I read the bible is . The tree of life is representative of Jesus Christ and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is satan. I think Eve was told to not partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I don't think he had fruit hanging from him. I also think he seduced her and she in turn went to her husband Adam. I also think that he created the different races on the sixth day because the bible says on the sixth day he created Male and female, he created them. Which is more than one. He told them to go and be fruitful and multiply. Then he rested on the 7th day. Then he created Adam the man to dress the garden. He created Adam on the 8th day and Eve after that. I have 6 different Bibles and they all say the same thing. So what am I missing or am I?

We need to accept that The Bible wasn’t written as a full accounting of history. It’s our story and how we relate to God. There could be tons of other things God created, but aren’t specifically accounted for in Genesis. God could have created numerous pockets of other people from dust to help cultivate the earth. Just because it’s not referenced in Genesis doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

I read an interesting article on the Adam and Eve story that stated that Adam and Eve was about the beginnings of a spiritual lineage, ie making man in God’s spiritual likeness. There is little doubt that humans have existed for at least 100, 000 years in our modern form. Were these humans subject to moral reasoning? Maybe not until Adam and Eve did God begin his spiritual creation, to know good and evil. Maybe only then would Eve would be the mother of all the living, spiritually speaking. The article pointed out that from a spiritual perspective, it fits the Hebrew narrative of tracing ancestry and the fulfilment of the coming messiah. Were there other people around the same time of Cain and Able? Very likely it seems. We’re they spiritually created into the likeness of God? No. Not until Adam and Eve had God begun the process of called out ones and spiritual conversion. Just a thought.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but the link between Genesis 5:1-3 and Genesis 1:26-28 doesn't necessarily preclude the possible creation and existence of biological humans before Adam. If there were indeed biological humans before Adam and it was the first one(s) of them to which Genesis 1:26-28 referred, it makes sense for the author of Genesis to connect Adam to those verses and to those original biological humans to show that what was said of them applied to him and Eve as well as to any other humans living outside the Garden.

It’s a mistranslation Genesis 1:26-28,2:7,2:8,2:18,2:22,2:25 with Man should translate Adam H120.Gen 2:23-24 man is iysh H376- man mankind champion. The Christian doctrine teaches us Adam eve are mankind. Genesis 2:21-22 mistranslation of the rib ,it is the (side )of Adam ( tsela tsalah) is used 41 times in the Bible and translate side, corners, chambers, leaves, beams, halting, and another. How can these be the only 2 verses to translate as the rib. If side is used then we get a different picture of what Adam looked like. How many side needed to make a mankind and to remake Adam. I also look at Genesis 3:21 as the last procedure ( coats of skin)before Adam and Eve were ready to make mankind. I wonder if this why flesh and blood (coats of skin)will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 15:50. So I see Adams DNA changing twice the splitting of 2 sides then the coat , Eve DNA once when she received the coats. Now Genesis 5 make sense Seth and all humans made with belly buttons ( Adam Eve no belly button)are made in the likeness and image of our parents. We have to confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus because he is the image of God Romans 10:9,Colossians 1:15.

All of the conjecture goes away when you understand that the Bible story is taken from the older Babylonian creation story that was taken from Sumerian stories. In them, man is created as a general term, then later, a special man, or Adam is created. There is no confusion. Just as the Bible describes man being created, then describes it a second time, this is because the older stories do the same.

Genesis 2 is the account of creation written by Adam, from his perspective. So it starts from the perspective of the garden already existing, with geography having names and functions to man (resources that can be found per region). Genesis 1 is the account of creation given by God to Adam, so it starts at the true beginning of the universe, and gives a bit of insight into the heavenly host. Both accounts together with the accounts of the fall, the flood etc. have been put together by Moses, which is why basically each chapter begins/ends with 'this is the account of...'. And then much later the chapter/verse system was added. Adam and Eve produced many children who had nearly perfect genes and no law against marrying relatives, so brothers and sisters paired up with eachother. Cain didn't 'find' a wife abroad, he went abroad with his wife. 'Towns' settled by Cain could have been simple camps that grew out to become towns.

In genesis chapter 1 verse 26 I believe, it saids GOD created male and female. Then he tells them to be fruitful and multiply and to have dominion over all the creatures of the earth. Then in chapter 2 verse 7 -9 I believe it saids he made man and placed him in the the garden that was eastward in eden. So that means eden was already there and named. Adam if I understand correctly didn’t have to work hard or suffer in any hardship till he and eve was kicked out of the garden. It never saids that GOD told them to be fruitful and multiply, and Adam & eve was made not created. So is there two different situations going on as far as man being made and created?

Adam and Eve were created first and placed in the garden. They were His special pair and the lineage that our Lord would choose. As our Holy Moral Lawgiver, perfect, incest was never on the table. Never an oversight for population, never fine in the beginning, that’s absurd. This has nothing to do with genes. It’s wickedness and toxic to all families, especially the child. Oyvey, think this through. Gen. 1:26 CAN be interpreted differently. My interpretation not only Magnify’s our Lord, it answers all our other questions. Yes all mankind are from Adam. After the flood Noah’s family repopulated the earth. The line of Adam.

There are more than enough errors in this commentary to discuss but I'll pick just one. The ignorant notion of an "error" in Gen. 1: 16, to paraphrase "man didn't know the moon doesn't produce light and accidentally called it a 'great light' demonstrating that the Bible is not the word of God." In Hebrew the word used: הַמְּאֹרֹ֖ת (ham·mə·’ō·rōṯ) means light-bearer/ luminous body or simply luminary and is different from the word for light אור (Or / Ohr). Luminious means: radiating or REFLECTING light; shining; bright. To "bear" means: to hold or support a thing, in this case, the moon holds and reflects Sunlight. The moon is accurately described in Gen and the rest of scripture as a luminary, a bearer of light, not a maker thereof. The writer understood the moon is lesser הַקָּטֹן֙ (haq·qā·ṭōn), than the sun, both in function and in size and the writer explains the reason for the creation of the moon and the stars: to rule/ govern לְמֶמְשֶׁ֣לֶת (lə·mem·še·leṯ), the night. Meaning to be visible when the sun is not so that men may use them for their created purpose, "And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years" Gen 1:14, which we still use them for today.

It is a shame they removed this text (along with other important Books such as Jubilees and Enoch) from the canon. Genesis 1-26 God creates man, Genesis 2-7 God creates God's Man( Adam). That is two separate events. Read as written, then it is clear.

God created *humans* early sixth day, flesh beings brought forth from the earth... Later sixth day God created *man* in His image and likeness from Eden dust (God's garden in the spirit realm), able to function both in the spirit realm and in the physical realm... After Adam's fall, he got separated from God, kicked out of God's garden, got a body of sin made from earth dust (flesh), got covered with skin, the beginning of death for man.... With Jesus's second coming, those in Christ will be restored to get their original bodies back. Giants also come from the early sixth day creation. And God said, Let the *earth bring forth* the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and *beast of the earth* after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:24‭-‬25 KJV And the Lord God formed man of the *dust of the ground,* and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden *eastward in Eden;* and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:7‭-‬9 KJV

A spiritual reality that the Bible teaches us exists, given scenarios and statements that confirm and testify to the reality of a divine council.
