@@boom-kanick3775 Thank You, My main influences come from my teachers and I was lucky to get lessons from Marc Küsters (longtime teacher and friend), René Creemers, Dave Weckl, Horacio Hernandez and Hans Dekker. Next to them I learned a lot by checking out Vinnie Colaiuta, Dennis Chambers, Will Kennedy, Keith Carlock, Peter Erskine, Buddy Rich, Jeff Hamilton … The list could go on.

Wow, I've never heard a demo on this kit. It sounds great!!, and as a Psiste guy, I believe I saw all alloys were represented. Great kits tune so easily, and you found the sweet spot. Yamaha makes some, if not the best hardware today

Hey Matthias, This is beautiful man, absolutely superb dynamic, control and musicality. I wouldn’t classify you as a drummer, you are a musician. May I know who your main influences were as you were growing up? Thanks Nathan.
@MatthiasKnorrMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hey Nathan, thanks so much for the kind words. I always try to make music on the kit. That’s what’s all about. But of course we need the technical foundation to express the way we like on the instrument. Some of my main influences are Chick Corea, Michel Camilo, Jay Oliver, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Stern, Oz Noy. And of course drummers like Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, Simon Phillips, Vinnie Colaiuta, Antonio Sanchez, Keith Carlock, Steve Jordan, Rene Creemers, Jeff Hamilton, Hans Dekker, Will Kennedy and many more. I grow up and stll live in Germany, near the Dutch boarder. Therefore I had the pleasure to study with Rene Creemers for a few years. He is one of the greatest musical drummers in the world. But the man who taught me the most about drumming is my dear friend Marc Küsters. You can check him out as well. Together with Jose Cortijo he’s formed a drums & percussion duo called #percussionways Thanks again for checking out my work 🙏🏻

Very creative and musical -- as opposed to my smashing, lol. Hooked my attention all the way through. Do you EQ your tracks pre-DAW with the Si Performer 1 or post-DAW? How do you EQ your drums? They sound very rich in tone.
@MatthiasKnorrMusic3 жыл бұрын
thanks 🙏🏻 the processing was done after I played this. It all starts with the tuning. If the drums are tuned correctly I don’t need to do a lot to the sound. For EQ I just push the main frequency of the individual tom/snare a bit and sometimes the attack (depending on the music). But the PHX drums just sound full and big so I really don’t need to to too much processing.
@megyalilaballad3 жыл бұрын
@@MatthiasKnorrMusic They do sound incredible. I think your Beta 98AMPs I see bring out the punchiness and natural clarity of the drums. When you say “attack”, what do you mean? (Edited because my iPhone speaks gibberish, apparently)
@MatthiasKnorrMusic3 жыл бұрын

Is that a 18” floor tom to your left?
@MatthiasKnorrMusic3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I added that one in 2019. Sounds huge. One advice, if you plan to get one. A single ply head, like the Remo Ambassador, is the one to put on if you play double strokes. Much easier to play than a 2 ply head. 😎
