I made the move from a major music store drummer posting reviews to yours simply because he never actually REVIEWED the gear, only pointed out the positive aspect of each kit. As a female drummer I needed a real comparison and something to help me decide on my next kit. That's where Shane, Tony and the crew stand out from the rest. They're honest and transparent, which is what I need. I visited DCP a couple of years ago and never wanted to leave, but they do have operating hours :). DCP is now my go to, even though I now live on the Jersey Shore. I'll be purchasing a new kit soon. Which one? I'll keep watching, and hopefully you will point me in the right direction. Thank you guys!!

A big reason why the Gretsch aluminum drum sounds so good is because of the 302 hoops...they just give any drum a really fat, meaty tone that sits in the sweet spot between die casts and triple flanges. I won't use anything else anymore. Hilarious that he originally thought the drum had die casts on it!

My 1968 double kick Gretsch kit all dicast all made like earthquake proof. Absolutely amazing drums. I do prefer the 302 hoops on toms but dicast on my. snare. The 302 is like a dicast that opens up the Gretsch barring exclusive 30° machined shells perfectly especially for the toms.

Love the Dunnett Bronze ND N&C Tulip but of all the drums demo'd here, only one sung with equal batter/reso transparency and that was the brass star reserve. Don't think I've ever heard a snare drum so well balanced and again, that transparency. You truly get the image of the 6.5" shell with every backbeat. I'd want to play one in person though because as with higher end Turkish cymbals, anything hand hammered will have it's own unique voice. Great demo guys.
