Wanted to return and ask if a Meshuggah indoctrination is a deliberate tradition in the corps (drumline, at least). I discovered Meshuggah all the way back in ‘97, have met them, and even emailed them back and forth a few times before the 2000s! That band…changes you. Your baseline for rhythm, subdivisions, groove and difficulty are all recalibrated once you lock-in with their thing. It’s even made my kids far-better musicians for growing up with it. Curious if anyone else has a similar experience or view of their place in music altogether.
