They should play this track instead of a metronome in the lot!

***** Actually, Roger said that Meshuggah slowed down. They didn't record the song with a click track, so there were slight variances in the tempo that would have thrown off the battery when they played with a met.
@Supernova32510 жыл бұрын
I had to do over 80 cut-and-blends to get the two tracks in sync. every single cut was on the meshuggah track, because the bluecoats track had to match the video. but the bluecoats play to a metronome, so obviously they're right. at about 1:50, you can hear an example of the way Meshuggah's recording obviously doesn't match with the tempo and I have to stretch the audio to make it fit together after the drumset fill because it's "wrong" tempo wise. it was recorded that way, and I just did what i could.
@guss214910 жыл бұрын
Supernova325 I have to say that you did a really good job with the editing. I wouldn't have guessed that it took that much cut'n blending to get them to line up and it sounds great.
@sinborn4121410 жыл бұрын
guss2149 Old Meshuggah doesn't line up to a click, I tried syncing a metronome to New Millenium Cynanide Christ and yeah, tempo doesn't just fall into place like a Volumes song.

Damnit cameraman, there are more than 3.5 bass drums! Cool beats, and they are tight! Too bad it was wasted on heavy metal.
@Supernova32510 жыл бұрын
I'll amend your statement to make it truthful. "too bad I don't appreciate heavy metal and so this very meticulous arrangement of music frustrates me because I like everything except the source material" you're welcome :)
@Supernova32510 жыл бұрын
you're still welcome :)
@agee2310 жыл бұрын
Why would you say that it was wasted on heavy metal?
@guss214910 жыл бұрын
Jacob Agee I'm glad you asked :) I have two reasons: First, I think that both (drumline beats and Heavy metal) are very technical and busy. To me they drown each other out. It's like painting modern art on a Metzinger. There would be too much there. Maybe it was the recording or the mix but I had a hard time hearing the beats over top the heavy metal most of the time. The other reason is that I tend to gravitate towards simpler things. Putting a heavy metal track on a drumline groove (or visa versa) is by no means simple. Also, screaming invokes anger in me and I don't like to be angry.
@HansonProductions11210 жыл бұрын
guss2149 You do realize this song is what "Vortex" is based off of right? I'm assuming the intent of Supernova was to show how the exercise and the song relate, not to just throw some heavy metal track on top of a warm up with a similar tempo and feel for shits and giggles.
