Josh was friends with Taylor, and wrote songs with him . He’s not a replacement, he’s a new direction . Different sound with different drums , double pedal , feel, and fantastic

I think Josh is a super solid drummer who Dave trusted would be able to come in and be able to play all the parts and mesh really well with the Foos. The thing is, he's replacing a guy who just had this magical touch (Taylor Hawkins) and who had a connection to Dave that no one else seems to have had. Super tough gig to step into. I gotta give the guy major props. There are a ton of guys out there who are fantastic and could have done the parts. But I feel like with those guys it's way beyond the playing. It's so much the personality and the "hang" for lack of a better word. Seems like they found a guy they're happy with and I'm glad they did. It would be a shame to not see or hear them anymore,..

It’s called “Play” by Dave Grohl. It’s a solo thing he did a few years back. He plays all the instruments on it including some light keyboards

I think Josh has a steep hill to climb as far as foo’s fans accepting him. But I am a firm believer that they made the best choice. I think he has been epic. I love the way the band just melds together.

I can’t lie after an entire decade of loving Foo Fighters, and Taylor being one of the drummers that inspired me to get behind the kit myself, I absolutely LOVE the feel Josh brings. It helps lessen the blow that Josh was a good friend of Taylor’s and they even wrote songs together. It’s a friend taking the reins at least.

I've loved Josh's playing since first hearing him with A Perfect Circle. As much as I originally wanted Rufus Taylor to take the throne, i think Josh was the best choice. Especially given that he comes with his own style, and not just a clone of Taylor...if that even exists.

I would rather play your Gretch kit than a DW. Personally I played on a Tama, Starclassic , but the sounds coming out of these newer Gretch kits are amazing. Gergo Borlai plays an amazing sounding Gretch kit.

Dave Grohl is one of the best musicians out there and Freese was (unfortunately) a great replacement! The best way Foo Fighters can honour Taylor, imo, is to keep moving forward without ever forgetting how much he brought to the band what a huge part of it he was!

One thing I just noticed, Dave and Taylor are the only 2 drummers I've seen show their teeth so much when going hard. Josh doesn't do it, the Professor didn't either. Mick Fleetwood does, but that's probably the coke.

John is a solid drummer but it wouldn't have been my pick. To me, he doesn't fit with Foo. But that's just me. I would have gone with, but he plays with his sister, Arejay Hale. Doubt he would leave Halestorm but would be interesting. Other is, Alex isn't doing much these days ;)
