Just waiting on Home Back video since they are planning to do all of the songs on their recent album. New album will be coming in 2021!

Do I like the song?.... I own the album, & this absolutely has it's place in it imho.... but then, I'm an old fart who grew up on buying albums & appreciating each as a body of work, spending time actively *listening* to what is involved in each song after having spent actual money.... I'm not sure how many of us old farts are still out here investing in albums tho!! Personally, I would describe this as "an album track" - i.e. not the kind of song which would've been released as "a single" in the olden days of records & CDs, but something which definitely forms part of the body of work which is the album. As a stand-alone song, this would not be my choice to entice folk into listening to Jinjer, but having said that, I do know a couple of guys who *love* this kind of barely-contained chaos feel.... so much technicality, & carefully structured to feel like you're standing in a structure which is about to collapse!! LOL :)

Maybe not the best idea to ask if a girl has gained weight, haha. But aside from that I totally understand when people say this song isn't their favourite, it's got an acquired taste, a bit like scotch. The two biggest things that draw people into music are familiarity and a hook. Familiarity comes from repetition and predictability and this song has neither familiarity nor a hook...well it does have a hook at the very end of the song. When a song repeats itself our minds are able to predict what will come next and when those predictions are correct it makes our brains excited. In this song there are no two sections that are the same, there is no verse-chorus structure and that makes it really hard to follow. On top of that most of the song is extremely chaotic, there is really nothing for our minds to hold on to as we get carried through the song, which naturally makes us uncomfortable. But that's kind of the point of this song, it's supposed to make you feel uncomfortable, just like the message which is saying that if we do not turn back from our ways of destroying the planet the planet is going to destroy us. Once you listen to this song several times and you start to get familiar with it, the more subtle aspects of the song start to stand out and you develop a much greater appreciation for it. For me this was actually the case with a lot of songs on this album. For me the lack of repetition and complete rejection of traditional song structure makes it a very interesting song and that makes me like it more, but for sure this is a hard song to really like after the first listen.

Song came out last year with the album btw. They just released the video. It's actually one of my favourites from Macro. There's some songs in that album that I feel the way you feel about this song, but not this one. I also think the tiny weight gain suits Tati.

Since you asked, I think she looks like she's a tiny bit chunkier in some more recent videos. 5 pounds on her tiny frame might be enough to show. Regardless, she's a beautiful woman. To be honest, it's not my favorite song either. I have found with Jinjer that repeated exposure helps and some songs are was once "meh" about are now my favorites.

The first time I heard anything from them was a lyric video of Piscis. A few days later I looked for the song and was surprised by the amount of reaction videos. I honestly love that song. Especially the rim shots, they sound so clean. Also, I say eleven the same way you said it first. But I'm not only american but Californian. So my accent is a bit of the stereotypical surfer/hippie with a touch of valley girl into it. It mean I draw out and mispronounce vowels.

I love Jinjer, but I don't love this song. I was looking forward to seeing what ever video they produce, and I've heard this song before since I own Macro, but its probably one of the least fav songs off that album as it just doesn't grab me personally for how Jinjer typically moves me, and the video is what it is - which is just a fun thing, but nothing like the level of production they have put into their other official music videos. I think a lot of that is based on the current times we are in and Jinjer just wanted to get working on something, to put some kind of content out for their fans quickly which is cool and can appreciate. I just hope its not a new trend for them.

It's a B-side definitely. The weakest song on the album. It's meant to compliment the song "Ape" from the previous album, but that doesn't mean it needed a video. Home Back is far and away the better song, maybe the best song on the album. It should have been given the video instead.

I´m with you on this one. I absolutely love Jinjer but this may well be one of the weakest songs of their whole catalog! Far, far from their best work. And it´s not a new song either, they are gonna release a video for every song of the last album and this is the last one that came out. The last album Macro has got a kind of Yin Yang feel to it: The first half is an absolute blast, amazing tracks, the second half, where this is included, is just inferior and drags a bit. Bare with me: Try "Sit, Stay, Roll Over" official, one of their most fast & furious tracks or the song that is kind of a prequel to this one you just reacted, "Ape" official. Peace.
