I've never seen the garbage plate in CA. In Los Angeles, there's bacon wrapped street hotdogs, street taco trucks, and 24 hr Korean food. Also, Korean food has an entire cuisine dedicated to food to eat while drinking (anju) - spicy rice cakes, fruit plates, corn with cheese, blood sausage, pork with lettuce wraps, Korean fried chicken, KBBQ, just to name a few.

It’s half a plate of home style fries and half a plate of macaroni salad, and then you top it with hot dogs halved, then with browned beef with spices and onions, and then on top of that you put stripes of ketchup and mustard. It’s a thing of monstrous beauty and is much beloved in its native region. It’s one of those dishes that everyone adores and would die defending but everyone has their own opinion on which recipe is the best.
