Dr. V. Mohan is an internationally acclaimed Diabetologist with vast experience of over 40 years. He is the founder of the 'Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre' chain that boasts of over 50 diabetes clinics across India. He is also the President and Director at Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MRDF).
After his postgraduate medical education from Madras Medical College, Chennai, Dr.Mohan practiced his research work abroad and has published over 1,460 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. V. Mohan has received over 180 awards, including Padma Shri, the B. C. Roy National Award by the Medical Council of India, and the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Centenary Award. Very well explained Dr. Mohan. I learned everything you said 3 yrs ago. At first it's so hard, but later on it's so ok to do it. I'm no longer taking medicines for diabetes, i just take vitamins and just eat the right food you are suggesting, a little exercise, and i feel ok. I hope everyone will follow your advice. Just be determined of what you do and eat, everything will be ok. GOD bless everyone...

Don't follow his diet. You will never recover from diabetes. If you truly want to reverse your diabetes thus reverse your insulin resistance eat animal food(chicken,beef) and animal fat(butter ghee etc). Thank me later

It was very interesting watching your video am a type 2 diabetes for the last 4 years i never take medicine i told my doctor i don't want to start taking any diabetes medication i will control it. I got myself in a gym cut down on most of the food that will affect me eat lot of green less juice more water i made ma own juice and each time i visited my doctor and do my blood tests he said am doing great am so proud of myself.

Eat fruit with skin on that will give you fibers. Some people eat fruit without the skins. Green apples is the best, less sugar content compare to other sweet apples. Pears, berries are good too.

My glucose is slightly high. Just short of pre-diabetes, but it is an upward trend from before - decided to not wait for diabetes to fix issues. Our area has homeopathic doctors. I'm not going there. So KZbin is my doctor. I'm checking blood glucose regularly, getting extensive tests twice a year. Sustainable alterations to the diet, walking routine. The plan is to never reach pre-diabetes. If I fail and stay in pre-diabetes for a few months - then it will be that hard search for a real doctor. With any luck, I'll be making this comment for the rest of my life and never reach pre-diabetes.

Listened to you, Dr. Mohan. Am a qualified nutritionist too. There's an interesting input I'd like to add here, after listening - and that is that diabetic control is directly related to the average daily diet in our society; food is such an EMOTIVE ISSUE in Indian families.... It has become synonymous with being cultured, being a family oriented person, being a good hostess at home, being a ' homely and obedient daughter in law, even to the point of 'judging someone as ' living life fully' OR THE CONTRARY!!! Eating to live is perceived as miserly, questioning and changing patterns of eating for the family disturbs and upsets members..... UNTIL disease comes knocking

I started the 'Healthy Plate' concept. I have salad consisting of a cumumber, carrot and beetroot or radish. Half my food is salad for both lunch and dinner. I followed it for 3 months now. Voila.. my HBA1C came down from 7.8 to 7.0. I am in my 4th month now. I do take medicines, Pioglitazone 30 mg twice a day and Vildagliptin M 50/500 twice a day. Thank you Dr. Mohan. I have started a new life style.. low carbs and healthy fats . And I'm seeing wonderful results. Regular exercise too. I feel healthy and energetic. My A1C has dropped from 10 to 7 and improving still. It needs discipline yes. And as you say, we have to keep our doctor in the loop

Quinoa is a great grain actually it's a seed...to switch out your rice. It's VERY HIGH in PROTEIN. My A1C went from 10.0% to a 6.4% in one year. It's kind over matter. Now I can't say I eat a perfect diet but I just find me things to like to eat. If I eat something I shouldn't I make sure I'm very careful the rest of the day

Type 1 diabetes can also be fixed by tissue engineering but still in R&D And type 1 diabetes is dependent on genetics and rare Type 2 diabetes is completely dependent on life style as qualified geneticist I can assure that

Thank you dr. I was diagnosed with prediabetes - 114 mg/dl. I stopped eating dinner after 6 pm, nothing at all. Also, I started a 30-minute walk every night. It helped me to get my blood glucose levels to 93 mg/dl. Working to get it to 85.

Doctor sir, if I start eating I can't stop until I am really really full, I have no problem fasting , I fast Monday and Tuesday morning than 48 hours fasting every week (recently started), but I am not able to control or limit the food when I eat , I am thinking on doing One meal a day with fasting, would that be of any help, please comment, thank you.

Thank you for the video doctor. You didn’t mention fasting as one of the most important factors in reversing diabetes. Also the fact that conventional treatment prescribes insulin which further aggravates the underlying cause: insulin resistance

I have seen many children getting diabetic treated and fully cured at Patanjali wellness, Haridwar. Food control, yoga and Ayurvedic medicines can cure it. There were cases where small children on insulin getting rid of it by ten days of treatment.

Like BP, diabetes too is a metabolic disorder. Thankx a lot to the Dr. Mohan for ur vivid explanation on diabetes. Govt should promote sports activities for all age group. Hospitals should encourage physical activities for patients of various kinds. Multispeciality or govt hospitals should contain guided gym for patients according to their illness n need. Diabetes or HPT patients should have facilities in hospitals with facilities for the right diet n suitable physical activities guided by right doctors. Thus right food, right physical activities and spiritual activities would keep the disorders at bay. Nice talk Sir Dr.Mohan

Doctor, You're making a great service to the society. Thank you very much. But I have a difference of opinion regarding eating egg, especially egg yolk,thinking that cholesterol is produced from what we eat. Cholesterol is produced in the body, only through consumption of excess carbo hydrate. On the other hand, eggs help reduce cholesterol, provided you should not take carb. along with eggs.

You are very correct, when I was warned by my Doctor that I should be careful that my sugar and cholesterol levels were going at the border line during the coronavirus period. I started eating eggs for my breakfast to boost my immunity everyday and for my dinner, I was eating a low carb diet and at times, I would repeat my eggs. I never knew that the eggs were treating my sugar and cholesterol levels, when I went back for another blood work, my Doctor had to ask me about what I was eating because they had gone down perfectly and I told her that I was eating eggs to boost my immunity because of coronavirus and she confirmed it that there had been series of testimonies by some people concerning eggs.

I am 23 years old and i have Type-2 Diabites with High Sugar level of 400 and Above .. I daily Walk For 3 Kilo meters in Evening But It Cant reducing . WHAT CAN I DO ?????

VERY HELPFUL. Thanks. Essentially, reduce carbohydrate intake as much as possible + add a lot of greens to one's diet is THE WAY TO GO. Of course, life style + exercise count for a lot too. Thank you Doctor for the vrry good advice. I did lower my carbs and tried to lower my portions but still struggling with my sugar level. I feel weak so I drink juice for energy then my sugar spikes up. I use Jardiance tablets but it doesnt lower my sugar enough. It really is a struggle but thanks for your advice because the smaller portions of food really help. As a diabetic you must have serious self control. Thank you so very much. God bless you.

@@RamjiRao_Listening , i eat red meat sometimes. i eat egg but lot of vegetables. i get my mostly my energy from fat. 10 year back my hba1c was 8.2. now it is 4.8 without medication. i have not taken medication in my life time. i follow low carb diet. my tolat chloestrol is 172. My ldl is 126 which is higher but this is same when i used to only veg food . But what changed most is that my triglyceride changed from 306 to 140. sometimes it goes to 117 in low carb diet.

Varadarajan Can you also speak about glucometer reading viz lab test results, is all glucometers calibrated. Is fasting blood sugar a reliable indicator. Also some thing about fasting insulin. Your content was good.

Now my hba1c is 5.8 from 8.5, Fasting 119 and pp 193 I am taking 1000 mg metformin degaplitine and Forciga. Shall I continue these medicines or to change?
