😮 yes interesting advice regarding menopause. I would like to see a discussion about menopause that doesn't focus on hot flashes/flushes. Rather, the massive drop in around 8 hormones including oxytocin. This has a social consequence. Divorce, feeling empty, no sex drive, and the elephant in the room that EVERY nutritionist avoids MENOPAUSE AFFECTED PSYCHOSIS. 😮😮 What is the consequences of hormone imbalance, anxiety, depression, low sex drive, disconnection and intolerance to stress. What are the consequences, poor work performance/job loss, sleep deprevation, can't feel love anymore... and then add to this, kids leaving the nest, caring for aged parents/death of parents and partners who think you've gone crazy/brain fog/can no longer perform at superwoman level holding down family, job, housework, caring responsibility etc... and then having to deal with men's midlife crisis (usually involving being dumped for a younger woman and being left homeless and penniless after a lifetime of support)... no one discusses MAP, no one discusses the social consequences. 55% of homeless people are women over 55. That statistic is the only thing that is in balance and consistent across western countries..😢😢 oops, I forgot, the lifetime of gender pay gap inequality/time off having babies compounded by age discrimination against elderly women in the workforce leading to low retirement savings and poverty... add to that, the increase in self administered/deliberate ending of women's lives around the 45 - 55 years old age and I would actually redefine Menopause as the most important and intense period of a woman's life. Certainly the most life threatening.

For the best menopause information you really should check out Mary Claire Haver. She's also an OB gynecologist. I'm 61 an just started HRT about 6 months ago. Regret not getting it sooner. Could have prevented so many problems. I lost bone and muscle and had chronic fatigue and migraines that started in perimenopause. No more migraines now since starting estradiol patch.. nor hot flashes.

Dr. Li, you are a life savior.I know that most listeners, like me, probably already have an idea about these foods that we need to take for our hormones, but I appreciate how you went into details on what role they do play to help our regulate the hormones in our body. Since I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2018, the doctor advised me to just take birth-control pills and nothing else, and I thought that was unacceptable, so I've always been on the lookout for foods that will help regulate my hormones. I was also already borderline obese per my doctor and was also on the borderline to getting Diabetes, and this really caught me by surprise.I got to know about protein-rich and high fiber diet and ayurvedic medicines like Ashwaghanda, Turmeric, etc. I realize, all I had to do to regulate my hormones was to go back to eating the foods I used to eat growing up, I'm Asian and our meals are usuallyy loaded with vegetables, but when I started working abroad, I lead a sedentary lifetyle and took my foods for granted. I had since been able to regulate my weight, (with 30mins-1hour of resistance workout / weight training which apparently is the type of work that is best if you have PCOS, it def. worked for me). I'm grateful for videos like this that actually educates women, like me, on how we can better take care of our body.

Am done with 6 chemo cycles and mastectomy.y biopsy results showed a residue. Am in treatment of 14 Intravenous immunotherapy. I have 2 more cycles. All my lab test results were good. Except there was a time I had high triglycerides but not alarming I think it was the imbalance female hormones that triggered the growth of CA cells. Eager to hear from you Doctor. Thank you for this video! I'm 24, and was diagnosed with PCOS. My hormones are normal levels, but I have the symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Birth control is the only thing that's helped me. My biggest symptoms are irregular periods, and acne with low energy. Also got my period very late, 17. But all the test show everything is normal? Healthy weight, healthy levels of everything. So it's frustrating! I'm hoping eating some of these foods will help me.

Dr. Li I don't know if you ever reply to comments to your videos. But you mentioned IGF 1. I take Maca to relieve my menopause symptoms as I cannot take hrt. And it has helped especially with my cognition. It's my understanding that maca can increase your IGF1 which is beneficial to our bones, but now that I've watched your video I'm concerned that maybe it isn't safe to take. Or is it a minute amount? I don't know if you've done any research on maca.
