I'm a 42 yr HVAC engineer FYI.....I did the same thing ...almost, to my Quincy air compressor, except I used 1 1/8 copper for the upper and lower collectors. Then drilled 3/8" holes evenly along one side of each and brazed 3/8" rigid copper for the "coil" heat exchanger with a drip leg on the farthest 11/8" upright. I recommend installing this heat exchanger between the compressor and tank to reject the heat before entering the tank. It will be more efficient at moisture removal in this location. It will also cut down on tank drainings and internal rust

That is a great idea putting it between the compressor and tank. That is when the air is the hottest. Thanks for the input and watching.

I did something similar a few years ago, but I like your design a lot better. I still got a little water in my blast cabinet with this, so I added a 25' run at a slight rise and another filter on the other end. I've not had any water at that drop since. I get so many questions about this dryer system. As always, a great video! I wish we were neighbors!

My dad was a plumber. The sandpaper in the drill was awesome. I made some 3/4 and 1/2 internal and external wire brushes you can chuck in a drill - they're great until they grab! lol. I still use the heck out of them though!

Thanks. The brushes sound cool too. "Necessity is the mother of invention"

Maybe adding a box fan to that might help

Yes sir. It sure wouldn't hurt. Thanks!

For some reason….I could see you being a moonshiner. Never seen it done like that for a drier….its been a long time since I had to solder pipes. I’m interested to see how much water that removes as you paint. You guys have a lot of humidity down there. Always learning from you. Great video.

Ha..moonshiner that is funny. They say "if you have a project vehicle you will never worry about drugs or alcohol...because you can't afford to do both". Yes sir we have heat that you can wear hear. I really hope to start some color by the end of February.

Have you done an update on the dryer system you made for your comp. yet? I cant find it if you have.

No sir. When I built it a neighbor gave me an electric dryer that I used in conjunction with the one I built. Sorry
