yeah stuck to studs with stud adhesive, specially formulated for this. Not in wet areas and fire rated applications though

Every board and box is different. Run a join on a 1 or 2 and put a nice straight (make sure there's no curve) trowel over the joint and see if it's touching the entire way through and if it is and the line seems pretty deep it's too full turn the number up to put less mud out til the lines just barely touching so when it dries and shrinks it'll be flat and ready for the 12inch top coat or the other way if the lines not showing the whole way through! That's how we do it at least!
