We're a DIY family building our "forever homestead" from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
In today's video I continue the conversion of this storage shed into a new youtube studio / video set, and home prepping food storage pantry by continuing to install drywall. I also show a new tool that makes drywall cuts so much easier called the RockRipper. Let's go!

The fact that you show your mis-steps and oversights is not only commendable but relatable... many folks get intimidated by taking on projects for fear of failure. You show them it's possible, and even when problems do arise, because Murphy's law, but how you deal with it, and then taking feedback from your viewers, kudos. Outtakes are great too!

Hi, this message is for Sam. I could relate very well to your heel spur issue. I was deli manager for 20 yrs and was on my feet all day at work and also at home afterwards. I had weeks were I was so crippled that I could not work. I had 2 pairs of custom made orthotics made, one for work and one for home. It took a few days to get used to them, but it paid off big time. I probably wore them daily for about 5 years. That was when I was in my 50's. I went on to work many more years and never needed them again.I have always worked jobs that are physically demanding. I am not a sit down kind of girl. I am 72 now and have slowed down, but never quit doing physical work. So , just sayin', a real good pair of orthotics is worth way more than all the physio available. They are pricey, but worth every cent. you can't work if you can't walk. I hope you find the right thing for you, I am just sharing my experience. God Bless you, Angela and the boys. I love your videos.

Sam, one thing I learned a long time ago. If you screw a piece of scrap drywall to the ceiling, and measure off of that to get the height of the wall, it gives you a ridge to put the ceiling sheet on, so you are only holding the weight of a half sheet rather than a whole sheet, and leaves tight corners making finishing easier.

your channel is so much fun to watch. You really work your tail off. I also have plantar fasciitis. Hurts like hell, I walk like a 150 year old woman...ugh. I can never go barefoot or it acts up. New Balance and Skechers sneakers have saved me from some painful days. Lots of support. And yes, you need work boots, slamming drywall on your foot is not good........lol Keep on trucking, you'll be done with this building before you know it and then...... take a freaking break. I wouldn't mind see you relax in some videos and shoot the scoop. take care!

Hi Sam. Let me share with you my successful recovery from painful heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. First, my primary care doctor gave me some heel inserts for shoes. These seemed to spread my weight over a larger area of heel. Then, I figured out on my own that I could reduce three pain further by putting less weight on my heel and more on the ball of my foot. This required a conscious effort for some time. Eventually it became a subconscious rebalance of weight distribution on my foot. This all happened several years ago. Now I no longer need the heel inserts and all of my pain is gone. Hopefully a similar approach might help you get near-term relief and ultimately long term. I thoroughly enjoy watching both of your KZbin channels, including the family experiences. Good luck on your self heeling of your foot pain. Cheers!!! Dave

Hi Sam Yep, normally drywalling is more boring than watching paint dry. But, in this case you involved Sam. Which takes drywalling to a whole new level. I've never been able to watch him do anything without laughing my head off 😂🤣( not literally having my head fall off) So again we've been presented with another funny and informative video. I would give Sam all the credit for the funny part of the video but we got to see Angela and one of the boys (Sorry can't remember which one is which) put in a few fun parts of their own. So, I guess what I'm trying to say Sam, is this was another great GAH video. Wishing you the best as always. Stay blessed and safe. Hope you find something that works for your foot ailments. They say that stuff can be a pain.

My yoga teacher taught me these exercises and both I and my best friend used them to cure our plantar fasciitis! Do this every time you take off your shoes or put them back on or when you’re sitting around on the couch or recliner at the end of the day. Do this to each foot: 1) putting your foot up on the other knee, grab your ankle in one hand and use the other hand to move your foot around in circles, at least five or six times in one direction then five or six times in the other direction; 2) then pull down on your toes to stretch the top of your foot and push up on your toes to stretch the bottom of your foot - do that five or six times in each direction, pushing really hard to stretch it well; 3) grab your foot with both hands near the ball of your foot and use your fingers and hand strength to move the bones up and down (for example, while pushing the bones for your big toe down, push the bones for your second toe up), continue this across the foot, pushing the bones for one toe as you push the bones for the next toe (you are stretching the tendons between the foot bones); 4) turn your foot inward slightly and hold the ball of your foot with your thumbs on the bottom of your foot, dig your thumbs into the tendons that run along the bottom of your foot moving from your arch to your toes (you are actively massaging the tendons that run from your toes to your Achilles heel), do this as hard as you can; 5) grab each of your toes individually and twist as you pull them straight out away from your foot (you’re stretching the tendons in your toes). That’s it. If you’ll do this several times a day (at least four or five) while you’re trying to heal, it will ease the inflammation in your tendons and they will heal. Once they have healed, if you do this once or twice a day, your tendons will remain healthy. This process is free, requires no medication or surgery, and really works!! GOOD LUCK!!!! PS LOVE your channel!!

Sam, I had plantar fasciitis and told my doctor about it. He told me to get a pair of Walk Fit arch supports and they worked. In fact, he took his shoe off and he was wearing a pair. You'll hate them when you first wear them but you'll quickly get used to them. They really worked well for me. Good luck.

That drywalling on the walls you just did blows me away, I have never seen so many cuts for that back area. I have tried to figure out some of it but the other cuts i could not configure in my pea brain. Well done, you have so much patience. Sorry about the bone spur and faucitis, my hubby has it and eventually with physio and the proper footwear he rarely has a flair up. His secret weapon was lots of padding in his shoes, shoes indoors and out at all times and learning when to stop before he aggravates it.

I feel your pain, as I have suffered with it til I was in tears. Standing for long periods of time and on concrete in a warehouse printing t-shirts is the first time I ever experienced it but I tell you it totally can take you down. It is a pain I can't even explain except walking with knives stabbing in your heels relentlessly. It is real for sure! Rest and kick those feet up and gentle as you do when you have to walk. It's for sure no joke. Sorry you are dealing with it. I even had to resort sitting on a stool to work just to get the pressure off my feet. You sure don't want surgery!!! Blessings

Go ahead and put the strips on the ceiling now because if it starts to sag the strips will be much harder to install. I know, been there and did that.

Putting the wood slats up on the ceiling may actually look cool. Paint them a different color or have them wood tone and the ceiling white I think will give it a mini beam kinda look.
