Every body metabolizes hormones differently~! This is why it is so important to have an Endocrinologist on your side. That said, I know that I'm super privileged to live in a country/province where such things are covered so I know this is not so easy for everyone. But I would never have had an idea how to progress without the Endo's advice, so I'm super super thankful for it~!

Im just over 6 months on HRT, I LOVE all the changes, especially the breast awakening! Im aware of need for patience and reasonable expectations. I am 80, so, i have set my goal to have a zero depth SRS to eliminate the disphoria of male parts and to allow clothing to fit properly. I felt no panic when changes started. I felt warm fuzzy and enjoyed the secrets unfolding while i look forward to shopping for my 1st Bra! As always, can't thank you enough for all your work!❤❤❤

I am 80 as well and after more than a dozen years on HRT, I have had breast growth in stages: A little at first, then a spurt after a year or so and consistent growth after. I am now at a full C-cup and a D with a lightly padded bra. The great thing about HRT is that the mind is less demanding of wanting to transition. I will still partially transition if I can find a way of paying for partial FFS: Nose, brow only. Take care and keep in touch.

I think it depends on when we start HRT , some older trans it takes longer , in my case my boobs are not as big as I expected ( but I luv ❤ them ) … it takes time to get used to them too , like tenderness and sleeping on them , 😊 overall it takes time .😊

For me when I was like a month to 3 months in like OMG it hurt so much. It really did hurt a lot. From what I hear the majority of the growing really happens at 9-12 months in and I finally just hit 9 months in today so we will see how the next 3 months goes. I'm fairly happy with the growth I've seen so far tho. I am a B size now hoping to go to a C within the next 3 months I hope maybe idk lol.

It took me several years to fully develop in the breast are, but now I am a full C cup, and I am so proud of them! At first I was somewhat concerned that they were too noticeable, but after talking with my therapist, she made me realize that I shouldn't worry about that, and I should be proud of my 'feminine assets'.

This is my experience too. Within the first couple of months, I had the nipple budding, but now, a year and a half in, my breasts are only just starting to grow past budding. I'm now about to be 40 years old. Nipple budding wasn't an issue for me personally because I started socially transitioning a year and a half prior to HRT. Also wearing beast forms every day, I take them off when I'm home and asleep, has not been an issue for growth. 💖 -Ava

Thank you for providing this discussion. I'm enjoying reading comments. I want very much to experience breast budding and discomfort I expect. The tenderness will pass. I already measure A cup size. My nipples get firm everytime I enter an air conditioned that provides five degrees of temperature drop. The uniform shirts I wear at work are opaque, but the fine mesh wicking fabric reveal my nipple firmness. I was embarassed at first, but I got over it. I am certain several people have noticed , but no one has said or indicated negative reaction. I love my breasts. Any increase in size will necessitate a bra and an additional layer of clothing. I already received a couple of approving comments for my ponytail. I look forward to HRT an the changes it will bring. Especially a possible increase in body mass for my skinny hips and thighs. What's wild is that this rapid immediate breast growth people worry about actually happened to my girlfriend in Texas. She started HRT around the new year and figured she could make it to the end of the semester and have to worry about coming out. i can't remember how big her chest had gotten by then, but it was a VERY noticeable difference. She has D cups now. HRT is wild, and your mileage always varies. It's VERY important to note that this is rare. This doesn't happen to most people, but like... every now and then someone rolls a natural 20 or something. 🤷‍♀

Clearly, I'm not the target audience for this video lol. I can relate to the Rapid Breast Growth. The wild thing from my own experience, I grew up to B size in the first 6 months on HRT. Not very firm though. Of course, that dialed down a bit. After 2.3 years, They are much firmer now, and have grown even bigger, but have plateaued in the last 6 months.

I'm now at 21 months HRT. As you said, Dr. Z, my breast growth started really fast, feeling the firsts signs after 4 days. My nipples became very sensitives and this lasted for about 6 months. After 6 month, I was with B cups. Then the growth slowed down and plateaued for few time, but it started back before the end of the first year, although at a slower rate. I started progesterone last winter and the real effects showed after 3-4 months. I often massage my breasts, as I heard it help with the growth, and I think it work. Now I just reached Tanner stage 4 and the growth keep going. I expect 1 more year to see the complete development, so I'll wait to do anything else. I'm really happy with the results I have now and expect the best for the future. Let nature do its work.

I'm on month seven of HRT. Initially the rate of budding seemed shockingly fast. Has it been painful? Only when the car shoulder seatbelt hit's sensitive parts, or they bump up against things unexpectedly, or sometimes achy. Lol Most of HRT's non painful sensations can be described as pleasant waves of warm heaviness. I now seem to be in the plateau stage. A trans woman once jokingly said "Estrogen is as slow as your grandmother in a wheelchair with dementia". I remind myself of that whenever I see things moving slower than my preconceived timeline. My goal is just a solid A cup, so I'm almost there. Thanks for your video! It lines up with my experience, and I now feel less anxious to see quick results.

I started HRT (E only no T blockers)in 1990 at age 33. after about 6 weeks I went through extreme almost painful sensitivity in the nipples. This sensitivity passed after about a month. After about 20 months I had a enough breast growth for it to be obvious. I transitioned after 26 months of HRT. Although the breast growth was obvious there wasnt enough to fill an AA cup bra. By the time I had bottom surgery (1997) I was just about filling a B cup. Since then I had a proper bra fitting now I fill an A cup and am very happy with what is there. I was aware that it would be a slow process so my expectations were not high. I often talk to people who are just starting HRT, many have false expectations of just how fast HRT is. This often leaves them disappointed even sometimes angry that their body isnt changing fast enough. This is of course not good for ones mental wellbeing. I know of one person who having transitioned after 6 months HRT then detransitioned 3 months later because HRT "wasnt working". 3 years later they restarted HRT but with better levels of expectaton and have transitoned and are now thriving. Having reasonable expectations of the effects HRT is very imprtant for your mental well being, especially during early stages of HRT. It all takes time, these HRT induced changes are a highly dependant on your physiology, HRT regime and to certain extent age. Recently my HRT doesage was upped due blood test results. I was quite surprised to go through the sensitive nipple stage again, oh what fun🤣

I had my freakout about rapid breast growth in early August, terrified that they'd grow too big to hide before I was ready to be out. Higher estrogen doses were also enhancing my anxiety at the time, so the fears got bad enough I stopped taking estrogen for a nearly 2 weeks until things "cooled down". When the estrogen faded, dysphoria got stronger and I felt sad that my glands had deflated so quick. But since then the growth has proceeded at a slow but steady rate.

Ayup... extrapolating from the budding pain/sensitivity and the first few centimeters of added roundness two months in (going from AAA to AA, maybe?) was a bit "too good to be true", but I kinda knew the real growth should look different, and will take longer. Either way I couldn't be further away from considering stopping the treatment. This is excellent.

Good timing on this video. I'm at six months on E and progesterone, and my body has responded quite well, in my own opinion. The information in this video lines up pretty closely with my experience thus far. What I will add, though, is that for the first three months, while there was some change to my body composition (I work in a gym and have access to good bodyfat measurement equipment), it wasn't as substantial as the following three months. In that very short time, I've lost 20 pounds of muscle and have gained 15 pounds of overall bodyfat, with about 1/3 of that going to my chest and the rest going to my hips and thighs. I don't know how long this trend is going to continue, but it is definitely fascinating to observe. Anyway, specifically with breast growth, it's been right in line with what I want to achieve, and, as I said, lines up with the statements in the video. We'll see how things go over the course of the next year.

When I was a child and shed my teeth along the road to puberty, more than one time my tooth became very loose and my gum was very tender. This discomfort caused me to be preoccupied with the tooth, causing great anxiety. My father, a DDS, would grasp the tooth between thumb and forefinger and snap the baby tooth out so fast it feels out on the floor. I didn't even bleed. Want the discomfort if my breast buds hurt, I consider it a "rite of passage" I do not know how long it will be uncomfortable. I will wear a bra and hopefully that will be a comfort.

I went full-time in the first place and used breast prosthesis. So breast growth was basically not an issue. With my HRT for menopaused women, breast growth was slow without pain. I reached a B cup after 2 years. After 3 years, the growth restarted and I have a D cup at 5.5 years. It's not a problem if I want to hide them with a thick loose t-shirt without a bra. Note: My breasts have a C density at mammogram (breast cancer prevention). Typical density for women under HRT.

After 6 months, mine are budding and are sore all the time. I have started to wear a sports bra which actually helps with the soreness, especially when I am walking. I was not expecting that my breast would be sensitive to the vibrations of walking. I guess I will find other things that I was not expecting as I transition.

It should not matter. You are kind of "ahead of the game" and your body might be predisposed to reacting to E. You will need to talk to your doc about it.

I dealt with it long as I could, but finally went to my folks, who were confused and concerned, but this was the late 1970's, early 80's, and we didn't have any insurance. And being farmers, basically, unless it needed stitched, we didn't go to the doctors. My folks just decided to wait it out and see what happened. Eventually, male puberty kicked in, and it freaked me out even worse. I eventually shoved the mask into place hard enough to deal with it, but over the years, I have always fought low T. Were I the same age today and this was happening, at least there would be more understanding of the situation.

Hello Doc...my VA HRT Doc/Epidemiologist agreed with your diagnosis and also diagnosed me as 'trans femme.' She/he then put me on 100 Spiro and the Estrogen patch. My first interview with her/him (MtF} was 1.5 hours...I spilled out everything including my most graphic dreams. Yes, this will be a slow process and I turn 79 in February but luckily my HRT Doc has a few patients/veterans who are in their eighties...I don't feel alone in my quest to initially "feel" like a woman and take it from there. btw, I still want to be castrated.

I've been taking it over a year now and I've encountered significant breast growth, starting with the nipple budding and now the breast tissue is increasing significantly.

Similar. At 55 took PM along with flax seed powder, seed, and oil (massaged breast)for a year and a half and had modest but very noticeable effects. Breast went to solid A's. I then started E and Spiro 6 months ago. Things went into hyperdrive. Solid B's going into C's, skin young looking and significant fat redistribution. Guy clothes wear funny on me now. I was hoping to dodge a surgery but yeah, the buds raised questions, but no one said a peep to me. joy of overthinking non issues Edit/ I should add that I had a lot of sensitivity during the bud phase and the seatbelt in my car was right there. a family member took notice and picked up a small pillow that clips to the seatbelt to help me out. They didn't know I was transitioning at the time, so people around me can be supportive without knowing. It helped me feel safer around and calm the anxiety and overthinking.

IMO, if you are uncomfortable with breast growth you should not start HRT. You need to be prepared that your breasts will grow and your body will femininize to some extent. It is probably a good idea to assume it will happen rapidly. That probably will not happen which is usual. For me, I saw the beginnings of breast growth after about three months on HRT. After two years, I am a solid B cup and quite happy with how I look. I am hoping for more. IMO if you are not serious about transition you should think very, very hard about starting HRT. I probably differ from Dr. Z in that respect. Sure, you can stop, but between 4-6 months you likely are to see irreversible changes. Yes, everyone is different, but I think that is what you should expect. It is a little hard for me to understand how a person would start HRT without wanting to transition and see changes in their body and emotional life. With that said, Dr. Z knows more than me and has years of experience working with trans people. Listen to her! We are so lucky to have her.

Yeah, well when they first start growing and it looks like you got 2 giant Hershey Kisses poking straight out, drawing everyone's attention, and there's no way to tone them down, it can be unnerving. Even a cis-female would feel self-conscious. But then they fill in (hopefully) and its great. But some won't grow or end up being banana boobies. And for some, you'll wonder if they're ever going to stop growing. And that's ok, too.

As a trans-femme enby over 50 years old, who is NOT on progesterone, I do have some growth over the last two years but not a lot. It IS a long time. My chosen-family constantly says I have breasts in profile, which is great! But I'm not looking for large breasts, so I didn't add progesterone to the mix.
