Dopo i Queen non credevo di potermi innamorare di un altro gruppo, cazzo da quando sono venuti fuori questi non fanno una canzone brutta. Damiano ha una profondità nel scrivere che è fuori da ogni logica, amavo Freddie per questo motivo. This band is the reason I'm starting to learn Italian. The tenses and how they're formed are driving my slightly batty, but it's also really fun. (Like, the first future tense is formed without an auxiliary verb? Really? Wild. I mean, it's cool, but also really wild when you're used to German and English, both of which use an auxiliary verb, will and werde/n. Meanwhile, as you can see in the subtitles, "(tu) tornerai" means "you *will* return", so instead of using another verb to indicate the future tense, the verb itself changes. idk why I'm rambling about Italian grammar in the comments, btw, I guess I'm just in an infodumping kind of mood)

Actually, Italian language adds "morfological bits" to verbs, articles, adjectives and nouns to make them "declinate" in genre (masculine/feminine), number (singular/plural), person (I, you, we etc) and tense (present, past, future and so on) and I thoroughly LOVE that English-speaking people are getting into the beautiful and meaningful variety of our amazing language!!! I never followed a singer altough I listened music for now over half a century (I'm 62) NEVER got any interest for a Singer. I'm fully straight and happened to be intersted in some beauty icons but never looked for more than pics. After eurovision I discovered maneskin. No one is less than a God but Damiano got me crazy. I'm not sexually attrated by him but I'm estheatically, and much more I'm attracted by his Art, his intelligence, his kindness, his seriousness. This man is a piece of Art and I love Art. I examined all I could find about him just to go from surprises to surprises. I wish the Maneskin all the best and a long carrier. They are good in every sense, respectful, creative, kind and good loving with everybody. This last point is probably the Master Piece of their Revolution. Art is Kindess before anything else and they are born in it.

I myself fell in love with the band after I heard this song (yeah, I'm a rather new fan), it was a different live and even more awesome performance in my opinion, but at least this one has subtitles. I love the lyrics as well. This fear of the dark he's talking about is the fear of the unknown, and I myself have always been struggling with being afraid of the dark=unknown, so now that I'm double his age I fully respect this guy's take on facing it, in spite of those who might stay behind and leave us alone to deal with it, and being proud of it. I think that's what he means since the beginning of the song: "I'm on a carousel of happiness and I don't want to go down although I'm not having fun anymore", like he's only staying on it because it's the place he knows, that's supposed to be "happy", but in truth he'd like to face the unknown and move on.
