Your reactions are jus as energetic and lively as Maneskin's music, that's why we like them so much. This is a cover of an old song of an Italian rock band of 80's called CCCP. The first time they performed live was in Sanremo song contest, which they won thanks to their original song Zitti e buoni and to this performance. In that occasion the leader of another famous Italian band, Manuel Agnelli, sang with Damiano. Manuel Agnelli was also their mentor at the Italian X-Factor, basically the one who chose them for that program, the first one who saw something special in them, and so they invited him as guest star for the Sanremo performance. I think Damiano's voice and attitude suit the lyrics perfectly. Vic and Ethan always on point. I can understand the lyrics rather well, just because I'm Italian. "Amandoti" means "loving you". The song is a cover. The lyrics is about a sort of very intese love for someone (he repeats a few times: "amami ancora, fallo dolcemente, un anno un mese un'ora, perdutamente"="love me again, do it gently, one year one month, one hour, 'desperately'' ". Indeed the last italian word is "perdutamente", which may be not exactly translated with desperatly, but may be that this word "disperatamente" doesn't have an exact translation in english. I don't know, I'm not an expert of english language, but in italian "perdutamente" is the adverb corresponding to the adjective "perduto or perso" which means "lost", so it's as if "perdutamente" should be translated with something like "lostly" but I don't think that this word "lostly" exists in english. However I think that this adverb "perdutamente" gives to the phrase a sort of even greater intensity, just as if the singer said "love me going out of control as if you would be lost in the love that you have for me"). The original song lyrics was written in the eraly '90s by Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, which was at that time the frontman of an italian band called CCCP which obviosly performed this song but as far as I know nowdays the band CCCP doesn't exist anymore. There were people in the past that thought that the love of which the lyrics is about could also be intended as "love for substances" like heroin (just as if the one who is saying "amami ancora=love me again" would not be a person, but would be the heroin itself). However I saw some videos of other reactors to this song and the commentators stated that Giovanni Lindo Ferretti in an interview denied that he was thinking about "love for substances" and that he was simply thinking to an intense love between two persons. I cannot confirm nor deny cause I never read the interview of the author.

Of course you're curious about the lyrics, for the same reason we're so petulant about suggesting the versions with lyrics: because if you don't know what he's saying, how can you feel the reason he looks so desperate? And when you know what he's saying we feel so much more connected together, and to you, because the song has then managed to cross over the language barrier and to communicate all its power even to you. This is a cover, and you can tell it's a very passionate one. The original (1990) was inspired by a short novel by Dostoevsky, "White Nights", where an apathetic man spends idly the Summer nights in the north, where the sun basically doesn't even set, and is suddenly brought to feeling alive again when he meets a woman who moves his heart and he falls in love. But she's waiting for another man, and he pines away hoping she'll give up on that man and love him instead. The title means "While loving you", and the chorus says, love me again, love me head over heels, just for an hour, but let it be forever. Let me add: the TikTok live where sound was all off was an exception. Most of the time they absolutely own live performances (as you've seen from their X Factor days). I find this Radio Italia Live concert a great gift for international fandom, because some gentle soul provided it with lyrics AND translation, but there are more videos of live performances where, in my opinion, they were even better. I think this is the best cover of almost the most close of the original version by CCCP. I think you could like even the Gianna Nannin versioni, it's very energetic. The song speak clearly about a toxic love, and urban legends tell the original version is entitled to heroin, since the front man of the band Giovanni Lindo Ferretti haa a story of heroin addiction.
