Hi, So the reason you leave it in P is to disconnect ignition, so than you can easily remove key and so remove battery out, Than when you remove cable, cable will stay normally but you pop out gear selector from P so you can turn half shafts..

Hi, If you see bearing looks good and no wear on little needles, you could put some grease and leave it like that, just those bearings they fail and than couse more trouble so better replace it. Use puller or old fashion with chisel break it apart, than clean surface and kick in new one using socket size as bearing or anything similar. Hopefully this info is helpful Thanks for watching

ask at your local auto parts store if you don't know that one...they can guide you. I would suggest a brass bar so softer than driveline steel for safety of the surrounding metal...if you are truly going to try and whack or pry it out...puller is way easier and his seemed to come out or break farily easily...but you hammer inwards on the needle bearing.....this is common practice in automotive repair to use a type of softer metal aka brass so not to dent or scratch an important surface fyi. @@hardcore4476

Mine is making weird noises (clicking) when accelerating at first from standstill and when under heavy breaking down to 2nd gear. Hi, no here is not really like that but very often LUK comes as original and so even price better than Sachs. But it's up to you what you can source. It will work same.

You don't need to put sachs clutch if you have luk flywheel, luk makes his own version of clutch that fits on sachs flywheel, my company sold many of those

There’s 2 or 3 companies that make oem quality flywheel for these. Just get same model and you’ll be good. Heard Luk made it better then original oem with updated design or slight adjustments.

Hi, Your gearbox is only slightly different by look, but bigger and heavier, DQ500 is made for 4 wheel drive and can handle much more torque. As on DQ250 you can just put other gearbox and it will work, if other box is from same type vehicle just need full calibration and that's it. Only if it's other than you might need more coding, but still without coding it will work

Hi, If you just ask for Dual mass flywheel for 6 speed DSG gearbox you should get it right away, this is part number I used: 415 0740 09 LUK, LUK is best to use, and aswell get flywheel bolts they are not big money but best replace them. Thanks for watching

Hi, Thanks, Flanges are held by Allen key 6mm tool size, so make sure you put tool nicely inside not to round the head, they are mostly easy and straightforward, when fitting back just look on thread in gearbox to be sitting nicely straight as that peace can move, aswell there on flanges are like brass conical peaces which near always stay on flange so no need to worry but you just check it. Fitting back flanges just clean any dirt on flange or seal, lube a bit seal, stick flange slowly in, take care of seal, than you need to press flange inside to compress a spring so you can start screwing bolt in, otherwise bolt not reaching thread. Tighten by hand, you can check 25Nm +/- (that's by specs) but I would do nicely by hand as any other same size bolt. It's a bit occur but you put two CV joints bolts and than hold it with small pry bar. Hopefully video and information is useful Thanks for watching

Yes, all aut. gearbox oil should be removed, when installing your current mechatronic into the replacement gearbox. Engine oil have nothing to do with the gearbox.

Nice video. Can I ask aquestion? I have 2.0 TSI with 7speed DSG. Replaced my OE rear main seal with iAbed rear main seal. After that the engine sound became different. More like a higher torque engine from bigger cars. The piston stroke sound is louder. Nothing else was changed. What could have caused the engine sound change? Thanks.

Hi, I'm sorry for late response, I just missed your comment. So on this type of engine there is no crankshaft sensor on rear crank seal, so nothing you could do wrong there, but what you could check is if your engine/gearbox mounts moved so slightly, sometimes it's very important to put them back on old spots as later there can be vibrations, is there any fault codes set? The clutch is not as strong before and feels little jerky when changing gears. DSG7 auto. I am worried the guy might have changed my clutch disks. Otherwise, why my totally normal car would do that after the RMS change.

Check if gearbox/enginecode is compatable with your vehicle at dealer (or purchase vw online acces for an hour). Mechatronic from your current gearbox needs to be installed at the replacement gearbox (coded to your ecm). You cant use a secondhand mechatronic, which have been coded.

Hi, DSG 6 speed gearbox doesn't have position sensors for clutch plates as DSG 7 speed has position sensors onto the rods which pushing clutch plates, So ECU is doing calculations, I am not 100 sure which way, But can suggest to do full gearbox calibration and see than will you still have stored fault codes and which ones. Hi, I don't have a list but as much as I can remember this is all what you need: Jack, axle stands, 17mm socket, 24mm 12 point for halfshaft(some of them have Allen key 17/19mm or 30mm 12 point socket), small torx bits for undertray and airbox, Some pliers, Screwdrivers, Get some spanners (10 to 19), Full socket set, (you not gonna need all but have tham with you) Multispline M8-M10-M12 If you not taking subframe down as I did than you need 6mm long Allen key for flanges, if you taking subframe than no need. Torque wrench for flywheel tightening You need some bearing puller for crankshaft bearing or use some sharp chisel to break and take out old bearing. Watch a video to see if I missed something and as well few small things aren't on video. Hopefully information is helpful Thanks for watching

Hi, New bolts and a bit of loctite, bolts are coming with sort of loctite but better use extra as you don't want tham to become loose and on many engines, threads on crankshaft are passing throu inside, so if no loctite there is possibility to have oil leak. Hi, More likely gear selector fork has problem, there is plastic guides with ball bearings where fork slides, so plastic breaks, you should drain gearbox oil, check for any metal peaces than take mechatronic unit out and check for any peaces there on gearbox edge

Hi, So if everything was ok before check did you put gear lever cable back in proper position, as far as I remember when it is in P than the gear selector on gearbox should be in like engaged position, cannot be loose on other side, anyway length of cable not giving possibility to mess it up so much, just there is some adjustment for cable.. I would say that you need a small adjustment on the selector cable or doube check how you put it back together...if all back together perfectly then small cable adjustment should do it but check your connections first. @@out_of_service5844

Hi, No there was no real ticking noise or similar, you need to check more yourself and see what type of noise it is, there could be many noises there from other parts of engine, if you think something is in around flywheel and gearbox check is there any difference when in D or P or N while you rolling only on idle slowly does noise disappear.

Yes, but you cant adopt a used to your vehicle. Just mount the mechatronic from your current gearbox, inside the secondhand gearbox. Check that all solonoid valves is ok, an not cloged.

Hi, first would suggest to connect on diagnostic tool and check for any fault codes, if no fault codes check oil level correctly, sometimes bad flywheel can make a delay in shifting but you can check flywheel or if very noisy it's definitely for replacement, basically delays can be couse of many different things, needs tests.

Hello guys i wish some one could help me with my problem. They changed the main seal and the flywheel first time but did not put the sail properly so it leaked oil again but car and flywheel was running good. Now they had to do it over again and put the seal how it should be. Now its not leaking oil but the car is not running like it did before. When i start the car its like a loud scratching sound , when i drive and put the foot out of the gaspedal i feal vibrations and the car like lags , like jumping. And the engine is like its coughs.

Hi, There could be something related to work they did, but not necessarily means they made some mistake, sometimes it just happens in same time, I would suggest you to do DTC read, check for any fault codes. Hi buddy, I have 2014 volkswagen passat tdi, 2.0l Tdi, Automatic transmission, DSG. When I warm up the car and start driving its 2 gear,3gear kind a heavy rattle sound and losing POWER kinda, under 2,000RPm, and 4,5 gear light rattle sound coming from Turbo or could be transmission, but not sure where coming from. NO CHECK Engine light, or No any light on dashboard. It's has 170,0000km. Someone said its FLYWHEEL OR TURBO TURBINE. symptoms.

Hi, The way to approach your fault and symptoms would be this, because you don't have fault codes stored, only way is to start with basic things: check gearbox oil level when gearbox temp. at 45°C and engine running. Than check turbo impeler if you have a feeling there is some sort of noise from there, Check all your engine mounts as they could give weird vibration or noise. Now about flywheel there is easy way, so when engine warm, switch off engine if you feel rattling noise while engine is stopping that is bad flywheel. So that would be few basic checks to verify is it engine or gearbox side, is all above is correct you are gonna need more investigation and try do gearbox calibration, turbocharger calibration.. Faults like that where you not really sure where coming from are hard to find and needs time to test all of it, especially I am not sure what kind of noise it is and no fault codes. I would suggest buy or rent some "ears" and pinpoint where the sound is coming from...these are nothing but wireless microphones that tell you where the sound is coming from...you could place between the trans and turbo and that will sort that out....@@out_of_service5844

Hi, Yes very oily, there was oil leak from gearbox and engine for long time I guess as previous owner probably didn't care, than got other very good condition gearbox, and engine was sorted, Now all clean as should be. Thanks for watching

Hi, Labour cost is different in each country. The proper way to count the cost is by standard time needed to do replacement, so as I know it is ~ 4 hours, just most of workshops not pricing it by hours, they do a fixed rate depending on vehicle, very often for DSG would be a bit higher price than for manual gearbox as might need a bit more time to do it, heavier gearbox and tighter space Thanks for watching and for comment

Hi, while I did this, I lived in Ireland. There I would charge 300 euro for flywheel replacement. Some guys would take even more, this gearboxes are very heavy and not all mechanics are kin to do them.. Hopefully you sort yours Thanks for watching

Turn 1/4 more.. make a line top of bolt then turn to 3 o’clock. Hence 90 turn after torque.

Look at that central shaft's play,I bet the clunk noise these dsg's make when they drop gears(4to3 or 3to2) is because of that sag central shaft

I did read that the output shaft sensors do go on these cars more often than should be...so I would start there and look at the data vs the actual when you are driving....I don't know of any other way to test.

Hi, no worries R/H flange you need to remove because flywheel is on the way, left side can stay, but on Octavia is so close to subframe so needs to go off, Passat subframe is a bit wider. Keep that side higher while removing and fitting, maybe some clothes in place of flanges, if little oil comes out don't worry, In case more oil lost you gonna need to check level while engine running and right temp. and top up a bit Thanks

Aswell, if you have a help you can try to take box out not to remove flanges at all, I found this as best way to remove tham so no one's help needed and no removing of subframe. Bear in mind the gearbox itself weights ~92kg

@@out_of_service5844 yeah you can take the box out without taking flanges off ... soon as you have separated the box from the engine .. rotate the box anti clock so that the flange is roughly about 1 o'clock position .. its awkward but do able

@@smilerdon hi, Alone is very hard as gearbox is really heavy, but yes I have been tried and I was very close to remove box, but than I said why to bother with fitting back, to remove flanges is very easy and no really oil lost.. on the car lift definitely can be done faster and easier.
