Ex-d4 Andy here. POE2 is the superior game overall. That being said a lot of the things that Diablo got absolutely blasted for such as tons of back tracking, 6 second levers, hitting for millions-billions, and one tapping bosses just to name a few are absolutely present in poe2. Difference being one is in EA and the other was a full priced game.

I'm a long term poe player and you're correct there are currently alot of issues, and many changes away from poe that I don't care for but I know for sure GGG will be more receptive to feedback and actually change things. To be fair blizzard did make changes to d4 too but the base game just loses that hook too quickly. Even with all of the flaws in the current crafting the base for in depth gearing is still there and will get better or time

Yea Poe 2 makes almost all the same D4 mistakes sadly. I'm curious how they will deal with bots and bug abusers to stabilize the economy, because right now its a horror show. PoE2 also has technical issues they need to work out. (Probably caused by the listed items in the stash is my guess) Lets hope this competition will make both games better.

So as someone who played around 750h on D4 I can say that the game isn’t even close to POE2 which is only in EA I already uninstalled Diablo 4 and I am now going full time POE2. Even tho i preffer milsim games.Diablo is the only game where I fell asleep while playing it multiple times!! POE2 feels like Elden Ring ARPG version! Really blasting while on holidays and got 2 chars lvl 85! The difference in games is huge I feel like I left the kindergarden (D4) and now moved to University! That’s how huge the gap is! I believe Blizzard saw their numbers and now they are paying everyone to make a videos on how D4 is a good game lol

D3 was way worse than D4 before RoS, then it got pretty damn good in RoS, but then power creep ruined it again. The game's current (final state) is pretty damn awful. Just senseless numbers going up forever, fixed "builds" based on sets, and with no real loot to chase other than the same set pieces with higher numbers.

POE 2 has major things it needs to work on. Trading is broken, the economy is broken, damage scaling and balance is broken end game is somewhat broken. But visuals are crisp and looks amazing but so does D4 so will just come down to how GGG respond and what they do to sort all this stuff out. But D4 has a multitude of its own problems.

You should not compare the PoE passive tree with the D4 skill tree. Instead compare the gem system to the D4 skill tree and then compare the passive tree with the paragon board in D4. The gem system in PoE is like an improved version of the skill system in Diablo 3 which is much better than D4. Regarding the passive tree I think that the D4 paragon board is much more complicated and almost impossible to grasp for a beginner. But the passive tree in poe2 is completly fine I think. I am a poe beginner and I had no trouble creating my own build on release. Everything is organized in groups and it makes sense.

PoE 2's story is neither simple nor complicated which is good, i played diablo 4 for 3 hours and i got lost in the first hour

Alright...*deep breath*...In the base game there is a point where you're looking for a characters mother, who has been tempted by Lilith. You get to the doorway gate to this secret temple area, and you find the guards that were going with them dead, except 1 - this one guy is the greatest stupid plot hole in D4. Wanna know why? The thing about ARPGs is you have to be chasing something as the plot. D2 was the wanderer, Last Epoch is getting constantly dragged to new times. In this D4 quest, you are chasing this girls mother, so you go in and you start finding notes and diary pages. You read them, learn what she's thinking. Let's assume at least the first one was written BEFORE she got into the sunken temple area. Ok. The rest can't be - She talks about stuff being in this temple, and we saw a guy not dead yet. Assume he was nearly killed, and bl,eeding out, you can't last days bleeding out, you last hours max. So assume she's AT MOST 2 hours ahead of us. Ok. We find more notes. We then hit a point where she starts obviously becoming enthralled and obsessed, given knowledge and power by Lilith. Ok. So she's doing this...2 hours a head of us. Ok. Fine...let's....ok...that's...sudden. Now she's CARVING...DIARY NOTES....INTO THE WALLS...Which does NOT take 2 seconds. This is a labored task. You are talking 30 minutes to an hour to write this. This wasn't magically added, IT WAS CARVED INTO THINGS. And by the time we find her, she's obsessed and stuff and we have to kill her. Ok. You are going to say with a straight face Diablo 4 has a better story than PoE, when D4 has a serious main character motivation moment where her mother gets "Slightly pushed, brain washed, given unlimited knowledge, given power, walked through a huge sunken temple, writes 6 diary notes and 1 carved into a fucking wall in the space of UNDET 2 HOURS....This woman was pushed to turn against her own daughter in the amount of time it takes to make a good meal and eat it. You're telling me Lilith has the brainwashing abilities to make a person turn against their own flesh and blood that fast and yet struggles to do ANYTHING motivational at all to most people. Not to mention the moment Doran's son dies and as he cries over the body of his flesh and blood, crying and screaming to the gods that let this happen...his son just "blarhgh" out loot....he dropped me a legendary, your son wasn't that bad, man. Fuck off. No it doesn't. Diablo 4 has all the pathos, story telling control, and drive as a copy, because IT IS a copy. It's Diablo 2 IN REFEVESE. They even started calling your character THE WANDERER at one point, and it's painfully clear where this stupid plot is going to go and i hate it. :/ *sighs* PoE2s story isn't great, but it doesn't insult you.

This was quicker than progressing the battle pass organically. As of Season 6 ashes are no longer obtainable via buyouts, and their level gate has also been removed.

I would say PoE2 despite is massive Early Access flaws, is still a far better. Its just D4 copium. PoE2 will improve, and its issues will be (mostly) ironed out in due time. D4 is always going to be bad.

disagree. D4 keeps getting better and better compared to season 1. Current state is totally different from the release state. The thing is, Blizzard listens to fans. I play PoE1 and all Diablo series. PoE2 early state is a total mess. No deterministic crafting, bloated map, lack of endgame content. very unbalanced class distribution, overtuned trial quest, iir stats problem, etc. Most important thing is they still can't fix melee problem until now.

PoE 1 and 2 are more closely related to D1 and D2 then the so called D3 and D4 games. Both games lack any talent in game development and are like made by bots. This guy is crazy if hes not joking.

Honestly, with how many things suck in D4, there’s just as many in PoE. I don’t get the back in forth between the two games. I’m in the camp that think they both kinda are mid. Both companies can do better.

me too! Poe 2 needs a lot of work, also I hate how many scammers there are in poe 2 But yea I thought people hated the billion dmg stuff in diablo 4, only to find out its the same shit in poe 2

D4 out for a year and half, with an expansion. POE2 early access aka open beta. Look at the numbers of players still active

I feel like everyone in poe should get a free premium stash tab, but i just sell it to my friends as the game being like $10 and ive even gotten friends to join EA paying the $30 and they keep playing without me ;-; lol ofc i helped my friends what to spend thier EA currency on (the best tabs to get with the 300 you get for the $30)

ok if you theory craft your own build in d4 you most likely struggle everyone crys but its much worse in poe2 atm lets grind for a boss for a week to die instantly cool guys cool
